There are two main reasons why I wear a clerical collar. One is purely practical, it marks me as a pastor, whether I am at my church or out somewhere else. People will often come up and ask me religious questions because I'm wearing a collar, so they figure I'll be willing to talk to them about what they are wondering. A second reason is because the clerical collar represents the responsibility of the pastoral office, going off of what Jesus says about how it would be better for one who causes one of the little ones who believes in him to sin to have a millstone put around his neck and cast into the sea. - Pastor Webber
It's a clergy collar Almost all denominations where them. Methodist and Presbyterian too. And Lutheran's celebrate Mass. Confession. Confirmation. Crucifix/Sign of the Cross. Incense.
The Lord Jesus Christ said ye must be born again. According to the Bible, being "born again" or born of the Spirit happens when we realize that we're sinners headed for Hell, and we place our trust SOLELY in Jesus Christ and his shed blood on the Christ for the forgiveness of sin and eternal salvation. "That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise" - Ephesians 1:12-13 If you are trusting in water baptism, or your church membership, or any other work for your salvation, then you are not trusting Jesus Christ alone by faith alone. The Lutheran doctrine of baptismal regeneration will send people to Hell if they were never truly born again, because it tells people to trust in the WORK of water baptism (yes, it is a work) instead of faith alone in God. "I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius...For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect." - 1 Corinthians 1:14,17 "But as many as received him [Jesus Christ], to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." - John 1:12-13
@@richardsaintjohn8391 I speak the truth in love to you friend. I was a part of 1 ELCA and 2 LCMS churches and visited several other LCMS and a WELS church before I became born again. I never heard preaching in any Lutheran church that told me "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3) I later learned that the official teaching of the Lutheran church is that they believe the infant is 'born again' when they are sprinkled with water (i.e. baptismal regeneration). Luther's small catechism says [baptism] "works forgiveness of sins, rescues from death and the devil, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe this..." However, this is not what the Bible says. The Bible says you must be born again! This is a spiritual rebirth (John 6:63, John 4:14). Physical water has nothing to do with. The Bible also says that the blood of Jesus alone washes away sins, not water. "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins" - Colossians 1:14 KJV "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God" - Romans 3:24-25 KJV You must trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ on Calvary alone. You can't trust the blood + something else (whether it be water baptism or communion or works or anything else).
You are not born again just by believing in Jesus Christ. Jesus said that many will say Lord Lord and not enter the kingdom of heaven. We are born again when we receive the Holy Spirit living within us. That is why Jesus said, "You must be born of the spirit." Anyone who does not have the Holy Spirit will not enter the kingdom of heaven You are right that works cannot save. However, when a person has God's spirit residing within them it creates a new creature and a new spirit within them. The person will then WANT to live in obedience; not to earn salvation, but because they love God. James says without works faith is dead. Jesus said, "If you love me you will keep my commandments." Jesus also said, "You will know them by their fruit." A person who has the Holy Spirit will produce good fruit, but a person who does not have the Holy Spirit will produce bad fruit. Also, baptism is necessary. I am not Lutheran, and infant batism is unbiblical because it alone cannot save. You are right that baptism cannot save. We do not have a single example of an infant being baptized in Scripture. However, that doesn't mean that it isn't necessary. Baptism is necessary because it is the outward declaration of our complete faith in Jesus Christ and the washing away of our sins. Acts 2:38 is a perfect model of what should be done... Then Peter said unto them, "REPENT and be BAPTIZED everyone of you in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST for the REMISSION of SINS and ye SHALL receive the gift of the HOLY GHOST." Another reason that baptism is necessary is because Jesus is our template. He was the only sinless man and he was baptized. He didn't have to. Even John protested it. Have you asked yourself why? It is because Jesus was showing us what He wanted His followers to do, which was be baptized.
@@saltandlight316 To say that water baptism is necessary for salvation would be to add works for salvation. Water baptism is a work. It's something you have to get up and physically do. Obviously, water baptism by immersion and good works are things that Christians should do/have after salvation, but not to obtain salvation in the first place. Salvation is all of God's grace received by our faith alone. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV Salvation happens the exact moment that a sinner realizes his lost, fallen condition before Almighty, Holy God, and receives Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. Trusting only in the blood that Jesus Christ shed for the sins of the world on Calvary to reconcile us with our Holy Creator. "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God" - Romans 3:25 KJV According to Ephesians 1:12-13, this exact moment that we trust Christ is the same moment that we receive the Holy Spirit (i.e. become "born again"), and we are saved, Heaven-bound, with a salvation can never be lost (Ephesians 4:30, John 10:27-29). "That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise" - Ephesians 1:12-13 KJV

But Lutherans Can get married. There is a church that is abandoned in Illinois that looks like it can be repaired.
It Should be.
What's up with "The Sparkle Creed"??? Why does the Lutheran church put up with the blasphemy and abomination the lady pastor says?
Lutheran LCMS and WELS are people who believe their pastors speak for Jesus on earth and hold the keys to heaven for their salvation.
Excellent explanation.
Why the collar?
There are two main reasons why I wear a clerical collar. One is purely practical, it marks me as a pastor, whether I am at my church or out somewhere else. People will often come up and ask me religious questions because I'm wearing a collar, so they figure I'll be willing to talk to them about what they are wondering. A second reason is because the clerical collar represents the responsibility of the pastoral office, going off of what Jesus says about how it would be better for one who causes one of the little ones who believes in him to sin to have a millstone put around his neck and cast into the sea. - Pastor Webber
Excellent motive for collar, focus on God’s children instead of self. We should wear crosses with the same focus.. bless you and your family.
It's a clergy collar
Almost all denominations where them. Methodist and Presbyterian too. And Lutheran's celebrate Mass. Confession. Confirmation. Crucifix/Sign of the Cross. Incense.
@@HopeLutheranChurchWestJordanUT why not the Sabbath?
@@tony1685 Are you asking why we don't worship on Saturday?
The Lord Jesus Christ said ye must be born again. According to the Bible, being "born again" or born of the Spirit happens when we realize that we're sinners headed for Hell, and we place our trust SOLELY in Jesus Christ and his shed blood on the Christ for the forgiveness of sin and eternal salvation.
"That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise" - Ephesians 1:12-13
If you are trusting in water baptism, or your church membership, or any other work for your salvation, then you are not trusting Jesus Christ alone by faith alone. The Lutheran doctrine of baptismal regeneration will send people to Hell if they were never truly born again, because it tells people to trust in the WORK of water baptism (yes, it is a work) instead of faith alone in God.
"I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius...For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect." - 1 Corinthians 1:14,17
"But as many as received him [Jesus Christ], to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." - John 1:12-13
Good preaching
Doesn't know anything about the Lutheran faith.
@@richardsaintjohn8391 I speak the truth in love to you friend. I was a part of 1 ELCA and 2 LCMS churches and visited several other LCMS and a WELS church before I became born again. I never heard preaching in any Lutheran church that told me "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3)
I later learned that the official teaching of the Lutheran church is that they believe the infant is 'born again' when they are sprinkled with water (i.e. baptismal regeneration). Luther's small catechism says [baptism] "works forgiveness of sins, rescues from death and the devil, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe this..."
However, this is not what the Bible says. The Bible says you must be born again! This is a spiritual rebirth (John 6:63, John 4:14). Physical water has nothing to do with. The Bible also says that the blood of Jesus alone washes away sins, not water.
"In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins" - Colossians 1:14 KJV
"Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God" - Romans 3:24-25 KJV
You must trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ on Calvary alone.
That is why Jesus said, "You must be born of the spirit." Anyone who does not have the Holy Spirit will not enter the kingdom of heaven
You are right that works cannot save.
Then Peter said unto them, "REPENT and be BAPTIZED everyone of you in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST for the REMISSION of SINS and ye SHALL receive the gift of the HOLY GHOST."
Another reason that baptism is necessary is because Jesus is our template.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV
Salvation happens the exact moment that a sinner realizes his lost, fallen condition before Almighty, Holy God, and receives Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. Trusting only in the blood that Jesus Christ shed for the sins of the world on Calvary to reconcile us with our Holy Creator.
"Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God" - Romans 3:25 KJV
According to Ephesians 1:12-13, this exact moment that we trust Christ is the same moment that we receive the Holy Spirit (i.e. become "born again"), and we are saved, Heaven-bound, with a salvation can never be lost (Ephesians 4:30, John 10:27-29).
So proud to be a Evangelical Lutheran
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. 19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. (Prov. 16:18-19 KJV)
shucks; i thought it was going to be 'simple' terms meant for an atheist.
Thank you.
My dad died awhile back and he was Lutheran. I was raised Southern Baptist. I feel like I want to convert mostly because I want to go where my dad went in the afterlife. If he's in Hell.. I can't leave him behind.
You might be granted your request. It's very foolish to petition God to send you to hell.
God will make his judgement based on the purity of your soul and your dedication to Jesus Christ. It’s not like the baptists get put in a box. The Lutheran’s get put in a box. The catholics get put in a box.
Uh, no. If you are trusting in your own righteousness, you have no assurance of salvation. That's because the standard for justification is sinless perfection. You failed that test at the moment of your conception. Psalm 51:5.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. (Ps. 51:5 KJV)
The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. (Ps. 58:3 KJV)

But Pastor, you forgot to mention that almost every Lutheran church in the world is now far gone liberal, to the point of apostasy. So it all sounds well and good, but the reality is very different.
There are still many Lutheran churches that hold to the true Word of God. Yes, many have gone astray (especially those in Europe) but there are still many who are true Christians
