I have a question : do you why the shotokan uchi-uke is the block where the arm come from the inside to the outside while all the other "uchi" technics the arm does the opposite, like in shuto-uchi for instance ?
I thnik in other styles uchi-uke is called the soto-uke (and vice-versa)
I always wondered why...

A further name for Soto/Uchi uke is also Yoko Uke. The name depends just from the karate style. But the execution is always the same and this is the only thing which is important. Also Gojushiho Dai is in other karate federation called gojushiho sho😉👍

The uchi in uchi uke and shuto uchi has different meanings. One means inside and the other means strike, they are homonyms.
Uchi Uke (内　受け)
Shuto Uchi (手刀　打ち)
