I love your videos! I’m 5.5 weeks into my lifestyle change for weight loss and I’m down almost 8kg! I have improved my eating habits, eating lots of veggies to bulk up meals, and leaner protein. Some days I do actually struggle to meet my recommended calorie goal but I make sure I do come close to it because I don’t want to stuff up my metabolism, you’re right I am scared of that word! So far I’ve been walking everyday, and swimming and hiking and really enjoying it. I would love to learn some calisthenics once I’m a bit lighter too 😊 thanks for the videos, you’re amazing ❤️
This honestly makes me feel a lot better. I know I want to watch what I eat of course, but this helps me better enjoy and not have food guilt when I eat what I can (because of financial issues). Thank you for putting this into perspective as I continue my journey towards a body that will make me feel good.
I could just listen to you talk all day and never get tired! Please keep on making these videos! I don’t care if you repeat the word consistency a million times! Each one of your videos is a bomb of motivation for me and I couldn’t be doing this without you! Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏🥳🥳🥳
when I eat less my body will start bloating, and I crave snacks and fritters and I will gain weight instead of losing it. This makes me frustrates, why even I ate less I still gain weight. Maybe now i need to eat more. Thank you, finally i understand
I always enjoy the information you share-- not only because it's informative, of course, but also because you're so chipper when you share it! Plus, many Americans love British accents, so that's just an additional treat! This video made me stop and do a double take as the header initially caught me off guard.... "Wait-- eat MORE?!" 😊
Every time I watch your videos I feel like working out. Your story and positivity towards weight-loss and leading an active life is really motivating to me. I actually restarted my exercise routine after watchin one of your videos! Thanks a lot for the content you put out and for encouraging people like me to lead a healthier and more positive life. ❤❤
Thank you so much, Lucy! This is just what I needed right now. My calorie deficit has been really high in the last 3 months and I have lost quite a lot of weight quickly. However, I recognized that I haven't gained that much muscle mass, even though I work out 5x a week. Also, my energy level is quite low and I haven't been able to lift heavier weights for about 2 weeks. So I will try to eat more from now on and am pretty sure that it will help my weight loss and muscle gain journey. Sending lots of good vibes to you 🙂
I've watched years of videos and gained tons of knowledge and this is one of the best in my opinion. For someone with a little bit of knowledge about the science behind it all this explains it so very well. One thing you said is so true in general humans are way to impatient to take this approach even with it being the most sustainable and logical.
Thank you so much for making this video because you changed my thinking and I'm really thankful to know the opposite side of what I thought is correct. Thank you so much!
Thanks Lucy! I definitely needed this video (I’m currently trying to recover from bulimia and I’m really afraid of eating/digesting more food) 😊🙏 On a related topic, I just listened to a couple of interviews you might find interesting with a doctor/scientist (Dr William Li) who’s written a book on how to use certain healthy foods to boost your metabolism. The book is called Eat to Beat Your Diet, and there’s an interview on Dr. Rangan Chatterjee’s podcast and also a nice one on The Doctor’s Kitchen (I really liked him and so went down a rabbit hole 🤓)
Good video! Trying to get enough protein in is a challenge as I don’t eat meat (eat some fish, eggs, dairy). I find meals become too formulaic and structured. End up eating food combinations just to hit macros, which affects enjoyment and palatability. The result is I eat too little for my training. Thank goodness for protein powder! I stir it into yogurt or make smoothies.
I’m vegetarian and I’ve found egg whites (if you live in the US you can get them in a carton), seitan, tempeh and tofu help a lot. Gaz Oakley and rainbow vegan have some good recipes on their channels.
Hi Lucy, Don't know if you're aware but I've just seen an advert on Pinterest for some crazy girdle thing you put on to lose weight, promoted by Vementa - they use an image of you at the end, as if you've used this..... Don't know how to contact you, hope you read this comment.
Eating more of nutrient dense foods .. low calorie is not necessary healthier high fat yogurt or greek yogurt is better for you than a sweetened low fat yogurt like vitalinea on a daily basis... Eating high calorie nuts or cheese may be better for you than having no sugar cookies or no sugar candy...
Dunno why, I actually saw the opposite effects. I weight trained with dumbbells 3 times a week for about 2 months, and over time, I had to reduce the weights, not increase them... I don't think calorie restriction was causing it, cause I actually gained some fat, according to inbody scan...
Were you eating more to make up for the amount of exercise you were doing? some people find they get more hungry so inadvertently eat more after exercising. If you were in a true calorie deficit, you categorically wouldn't have been putting on fat - it's just not possible, so you may not have been accurately tracking your calories (drinks count too, which a lot of people forget to add) x

Her vuedos are the ones worth watching! Really good channel, she does not forget you re human ...
I really appreciate you using "big words" or more scietific terms to explain the basics of losing weight!!

Low calorie, high nutrient dense foods. Volume matters whilst in a deficit!
Thank you so much for making this video because you changed my thinking and I'm really thankful to know the opposite side of what I thought is correct. Thank you so much!
Is there a guide on what a good calorie deficit is as opposed to a less sustainable but higher one?

@@lucylismore they’re asking you whether lifting weights is better for weight loss or calisthenics :)
Yes Lucy!! Thank you for explaining this so simply. It is so true!! Slow & steady and sustainable. 😊💚💪🏼
0:27 Oh gosh TFFT!
At least this person kept it real.
Calories in vs Calories out = weight loss/weight gain
The calculation is actually quite simple!
I love your videos! You motivate me so much!!🥰

Also spinach and broccoli have some protein in them too. And chickpeas and other beans.I do still use protein powder though lol.
Hello @lucylismore do you have a modified calisthenics workout for individuals who are very overweight or obese ? How do I get started ?
The recipe picture on the left of the thumbnail, can anyone link? I'm trying to get the ingredients, looks yummy :)
Great video. I wish you a wonderful day 🙂
This girl must burn a year’s energy in a 15 minute blog 😂😂 😂😂 😂 but she’s an inspiration and lovely 🥰
🤣🤣 probably!

Interesting - i ate more this week and lost some body weight this week. I wonder if cycling helps?
What are you on about? I've been eating MORE since you dropped this video and haven't lost a single pound.

Need more protien? Or sleep? Also try electrolyte powders for hydration

It could be sleep or electrolytes. I'll see about adding more electrolytes next time I start weight training. Thanks for the tip. :)
