What has helped me as a snack is just having raw peeled carrots. Something about their texture makes me very satiated. And due to a busy routine as a regular dinner I tend to go with a chicken or turkey burrito (tons of salad and a slice of turkey or chicken breast)

I started following you recently and I love your approach to a healthy lifestyle. There’s no fat-shaming or talk of “fat body = bad” just more so listen to your mind and body and do what’s right for it. You’re amazing. Thank you for your videos!!
I’m currently trying to get myself back -40lbs which I had lost after having two kids, but then gained back during pandemic stress eating 😕 Thanks for the helpful tips and encouragement ❤️❤️

Lucy, please could you do a video about hormones/pms type thing n how that affects food/craving and exercise? I struggle SO BADLY with negative head/literally NO motivation and complete exhaustion 2 weeks before and up to my period, it's awful, I can do workouts etc for the other 2 weeks but I don't do anything, and it makes me feel like I've failed every time. I have a meal plan, that's healthy and balanced but again in that 2 weeks before I just want to eat more, it drives me crazy. You've mentioned you learning about hormones and exercise in a video a month or so ago so just wondered if you could do one about this to share your knowledge and experience and amazingness! I think there's probably loads of other women how struggle with this too ❤️

Hi, I am much the same, I fluctuate a lot during the cycle. Something I recently realized is that because we have different peaks and lows of hormones during the cycle, switching up the diet to match those hormones is very helpful. You can research "cycle syncing" and try it out while you wait for a new Lucy video :)

@@monkeymamaa thanks so much! It can feel so all over the place can't it, n some ppl don't seem affected by it me clearly for us it changes our bodies a lot! I'll look it up, thanks hun, hope you have a good day xx

Same! I do really good the first half of my cycle and as soon as I ovulate, I am soooo hungry. I'm trying to experiment to see what will work for me. What I'm thinking about trying is keeping my calories at around 1500 pre ovulation and giving myself up to 1700 calories post ovulation. This still keeps me at a deficit, just slightly less. I'm hoping the extra 200 calories a day will keep me stay sane, and allow me to indulge in some of those intense PMS cravings, but it's still keeping me in check so I don't go crazy during those 2 weeks and eat everything in sight lol. I don't know if it will work, but I'm going to give it a try. I'd rather lose weight at a slower rate for those 2 weeks and not be miserable because as soon as I get miserable I tend to give up altogether which is not good. This is supposed to be a lifestyle change after all. I really hope this works and helps me to stay on track, and I hope you find something that works for you as well.

Love this! I started out losing with Noom using similar tricks plus I was tracking calories, but after about 7 months I stopped tracking my food and have still been losing. Down 70lbs now and it doesn’t feel that hard when you can still eat what you want in moderation.

@@Alba4 I started out calorie counting and just cutting portion sizes of the high calorie foods and mixing in veggies like Lucy did. The biggest thing was cutting out eating massive bags of chips on the regular and instead enjoying either a small measured portion or just keeping busy and finding something else to do in the evenings. I also stopped drinking pop daily and switched to water, non calorie sparkling waters or tea. I still have the very occasional soda, just not daily. I upped my water intake drastically since I rarely drank water before. It helps keep my body hydrated but also fills my tummy between meals.
I joined Noom which has a calorie tracker as well as psychologic articles to read to try to figure out why you eat the way you do, why you want to lose the weight/get healthier (the BIG reason why). They give you a goal specialist who helps figure out small goals to set one at a time to reach your goals. It was very helpful for me at the beginning, but now that I intuitively know what I need to do, I don’t use it much anymore.

I'm currently on a weight loss journey and already lost a little over 10 lbs. The main thing for me is making healthier versions of the food I love and portion controlling. I make sure I'm in a calorie deficit. In the beginning I did some tracking to know how many calories my meals are worth. It's like relearning to eat properly because I was just stuffing my face with food because it's just too tasty and I was scared of missing out.

Hi! If you like glass noodles or kelp noodles, they make GREAT Pad Thai as well. Less calories and more filling then the traditional rice noodles :)
If you want to take it further, papaya if zucchini strips also work!

Thank you for all the great ideas! I've been cutting my portions in the last few months and I've lost almost 5 kg (not that I had much to lose!). I think the body adapts to the amount of eating you usually have, I used to snack a lot and without any control and the moment I changed this to more healthier options I was a bit hungry at first but now I'm completely used to and don't get hungry anymore. Vegetables are great because you can eat large portions and it's super low caloric, I never thought about combining pasta with brocoli, I will definitely try it 😋 I'm still eating pizza and burger once a week but I try to compensate it with healthy foods other days and make a light version by buying the turkey burger and not putting too much sauce and I also make my own tuna pizza with light mozzarella which is delicious (luckily my fave pizzas are tuna and mushroom pizza 😆)

Always enjoying videos about nutrition and eating. And thanks for recipes i had to try Pad Thai, it looks to nice. For me when i was dieting i realize that i eat more volume than before but with less calories in meals. I can eat loots of food so cutting on portion was not good idea for me. Btw for peoples that love pizza try doing base with egg whites and regular flour to the point that dough is more like pancakes dough and just pour it to the baking pan, put it to oven on like 10 minutes and meantime prepare your topings until pizza base is done, put your toping in and give it another 10 - 15 minutes in oven on 220C.

Ahh you make it sounds so easy! 🤩 I feel like because I can’t remember a time when I didn’t try to monitor or overcalculate what I’m having, I don’t event know what my “autopilot” way of eating is anymore. But your advice is still very sound for me, because it encourages to not overthink and just use common sense. At the end of the day, all it is, is slightly less food, slightly more movement ❤️

Just wanted to say a big thanks for your brilliant videos as always, you’ve taught me that this is a long term thing and it makes me feel hopeful that I can lose a big of weight. I’ve managed to maintain a dress size of size 16 for about 10 years, but just looking to drop a dress size at the moment. Really appreciate you not encouraging people to cut out carbs! You’d be surprised with how many do, and it’s not sustainable for me as I love them too much, and also your receipes are so easy and ingredients inexpensive which I really appreciate!

We enjoy having peach tea with soda water or mineral water . Peach tea on its own is full of sugar and calories so we treat like a cordial. Just pour a little in the glass and go in with bubbly water. Also works with orange juice and sugary soft drinks. You get the flavour without the additional calories!

Such good practical ideas, thank you! I definitely want to try your pad thai recipe. The family size chocolate bar - I feel so seen lol, I'm going to get some of the fun size like you suggested. If you love milky lattes, oat milk is the closest to dairy milk that I've tried - a barista recommended it to me and I love it! It's missing protein but lighter and lactose intolerant friendly :) I get a small one on the weekend now as a treat (mostly to save money, they're expensive where I live!) SO glad I found your channel, I'm binging it!

Pretty decent video! By adding lower calorie dense foods it allows you to increase the volume of each meal so that you can still be in a calorie deficit. Although when making those chick peas, people should be very careful when using flat oil. A tbsp of olive oil is 120 calories so if you try to eyeball it in multiple meals it's SO easy to overeat in calories.g
Alot of comments here seem like they need more help so any questions, try watching channels like Jeff Nippard, Renaissance Periodization and Greg Doucette for more info on nutrition and workout and diet advice.
On a side note, I'm so glad you've been able to have a successful and sustainable weight loss journey. You've worked hard and you should be proud!

Hi Lucy. Just found your channel. My weight has gone up over the last 2 years. However I'm now getting myself in a better frame of mind and the weight is starting to come off. I have lost 10lbs over the last 3 months, so it's coming off slowly. I am 64 years old and run a pub therefore my eating times for most of the week are later than I would like. I do try to eat before I go and open up but don't to eat too much because there's always a lot of reaching up or bending down. I try and eat around 1pm but then wouldn't normally get home until 11.30. Any suggestions to pack up and take with me to the pub please to eat while I am on shift. Although not always possible on Fridays and Saturdays. The recipe suggestions you give are brilliant and I love the pancakes in this video. What type of flour did you use please? First you shouldn't cut out meals your body has probably gone into survival mode. This means it holds onto fat as it feels it wont be getting food anytime soon.
Second Lucy is super fit and a exercises alot. This is great but when you start you wont be the same as your body isn't there yet.
3 meals a day snack on fruit and exercise watch your portion size you should lose weight if not seek a personal trainer that can advise you on healthy eating as well.
If you cant afford this then sit down write down a healthy meal plan for 2 weeks and stick to it. As Lucy does analyse every meal to see how you can make it as healthy as possible.
It's not easy you will fall off the wagon but it's up to you to pull yourself back on it.
Writs a letter to yourself telling yourself what a difference it will make yo your life losing weight (I.e less breathless clothes fitting better more energy) . Keep it safe then if you falter get it out and remind yourself .
Dont be so hard on yourself losing weight is tough keeping it off is tougher. You can do this 💜

@lucylismore Thank you for this video. I have a significant amount of weight to loose and am recovering from a knee operation. Just a quick question - what would you suggest as a replacement for the chickpea snack as I am allergic to all legumes? I used to eat beans all the time until I found out that I’m allergic to them. Your thoughts would be appreciated. G’day from down under 👋🏼
This video was super helpful. Thank you.

Hey Lucy I really love your recipes.Just a quick question...I started Keto a week ago today and kinda feel like I am getting a hang of it.What is your opinion on Keto(to lose weight) and then introduce carbs back into your life again and following a more healthier lifestyle like your videos advise?

Thanks for the recipes! I would also suggest using Shirataki or Konjac noodles for cooking. They are so low in calories and high in fibre. It just takes a little bit of time to get used to its texture, compared to eating rice noodles.

Why does this beautiful woman live so far away from me. Do you know that feeling, when you meet someone so atractive, you are just stunned? Propably start to stutter, embarase your self and get cold sweat. This girls face just melts my heart.

Hey there, I have a absolutely unrelated question. I am not a native speaker and was wondering what (specific) accent is your (our Lucy's, if any other native speaker can answer this) accent? I just cannot place it, but I would like to know :)

She's from the UK but she had spent some years in Australia. So could be a mix of the two, with a bit more of a Brit accent, that's making it hard to place

@@angelag471 ah, maybe I should have been Note specific 😊
I can hear the british accent and was wondering where exactly this accent is from :)

I have the same concept for meals with you. Switch to low calorie things. But I have one problem, every one or two weeks, I really want to go have some break and cake things, I'm really into those things. I also share some of my meals in my vedio, check them if you‘d like.
