It's very in-character for Austin to go off finding odd and unremarkable places, while his friend instead gets mad air.
The frog game might not be fun, but it sure does have a certain style to it that I dig. It reminds me of that very awkward era when people were still trying to figure out Windows 95 gaming, but it's legitimately high resolution.
Honestly yeah, I'd love to see more games with a similar style

Dude the frog game may be annoying but i really dig the style. The photo realistic 2d assets and skeuomorphic ui design are a great vibe
A lot of free games you'd get online or on 100 games discs between 2002-2009 had that kinda vibe, it's great

The "After you die, the world will move on" line reminds me of a great, albeit hard platformer game. Rain World makes you have to press the restart button in order to respawn, but sometimes when an enemy grabs me I just see where it takes me... Beautiful game, can't recommend it enough.
Yet its drawbacks are its brutal mechanics... The amount of times I almost survived a day only to get jumped by a tactical bird...
Also, unrelated but I assume the fish "shooting" at you is a reference to... archerfish?
rainworld needs a baby mode for weaklings like me bc it's an absolutely GORGEOUS and fun looking game, but my feeble heart just cannot handle dying constantly & losing everything xd

It's interesting to see the different paths they take in the same games.
That first game really impressed me. Maybe it felt jank to play, but it looked stylised and well made rather than most cheap games which just look unfinished

imagine how obnoxious the grandchildren were if the grandpa kept you engaged with the game for 5 hours then how long it took the kids? Grandpa was just tired and wanted tea time
Escape causing the game to quit
estart without confirmation is the actual way you know it was made by an old person. That's common with a lot of super old games, and is a minor detail that drives me insane about those old games when trying to play them.

Thank you for doing another video of this series. It feels pretty underrated for how much I enjoy it. Please do more.
I really wish they showed the struggles and life of the fish, as the player we just see it as an obstacle when really it is just doing the same thing as us, it is just trying to live. They could have showed the fish playing with its kids and providing for them. Or they could add a lengthy six minute monologue given by the dragon fly character on each death telling us that we are the dragon fly and the fish is the frog.
I hope they take the criticism and improve on the sequel, and add steering wheel controls so that I can play it. (I only have a usb steering wheel to play with)

Despite only being $2, the impulse buy alone from it's low price probably gives these games a higher profit margin than really good indie games that have to try desperately hard to justify a game at $20+.
This is why unorganized digital stores without quality assurance like Steam and Switch are full of developers making $5 games, because it's actually smarter to do that for quick bucks on the home page than to try and fight the algorithm with a good game you spent thousands investing into.
