I’m training with my guy right now for three days. I finished my second day of OJI and I’m way too slow fingering the mail as I walk from house to house and my trainer said I need to pick up the pace cause I only have three days. Talk about rushing someone.

They stopped giving the 473 exam and now only the 474 which you already took. Not to say they won't ever bring it back if they don't get the results and recruits they hope for. ................ question what state or city are you in? And how long did you wait for your orientation date after accepting the job ?
I quit the same day I started. It was extremely extremely hot 105. Trainer didn't want me to carry a bottle of water. He didn't carry a bottle of water on his person. I couldnt cool down and couldn't get enough water. Please carry a bottle of water especially if you work in Phoenix Texas LA or Florida.There was a CCA that died in LA those LLV are extremely HOT!!! This job is not easy.

As a matter of fact she didn't carry any on her person. She didn't change until I addressed the issue then she said I could carry water. That's literally illegal. You have every right, both by law and USPS policy to stay hydrated. You should have gone straight to your supervisor the first time it happened
Can you make a list of best driving cigars? Ones that don't need much relights or touchups when you're on the interstate on a long car trip or have a delivery job that has you driving for hours.

Most people I could find all said 4 to 6 weeks after offer accepted depending on location and orientation class dates available....... but usually 2 weeks before start date. It seems like a wide range so I imagine alot go's into the whole process , recruiting, offers, backgrounds, and finally setting up orientation classes
Hey, I have the opportunity to take a RCA route right now but there isn't much info. What are the typical working hours? How do breaks work? I heard you could deliver from the passenger side without mods- is that true? Is it worth it to get vehicle mods? Are you reimbursed for it?

J. Carson I wore shorts, a dri fit shirt and black running shoes. (Currently in AZ) My station isn’t too big on attire as of now til I get my clothing allowance.

Kimberly, you are hired as a PSE (postal support employee) or the non-career clerk position. You'll be trained for window clerk after you are hired and go through orientation.
El Vago you’re not suppose to technically sign up until your probation is over. Be smart and wait until it’s over. They can’t save your ass within that 3 months, so you’re throwing Away $50 a month for nothing.

There's maybe a 1 in 10 chance that he will stay long enough to make reg. Applicants generally do not realize this. We even have carriers now who quit AFTER making reg, which I think is stupid. But management can get to you if you let them.
Absolutely. I'm still at the point where I enjoy the crazy work load. We'll see how long that continues haha. There are definitely a few days where I have gotten really frustrated, especially Monday lol...I do not like Mondays.

Richard Moore you have to know how to drive. Parallel parking. Backing into a spot...like if you’re at a supermarket, back into the spot. Most people that fail are people who don’t have cars and drive everyday. It’s a easy test.

If you’ve driven a shit box General Motors car from the 1980s, it’ll feel like that. Loose steering wheel. Lock to lock is 4 turns. Except the LLV has a few more blind spots. Sitting on the right is no big deal. Stay close to the right line and you’ll be fine. All driving regulations are the same. It’s not like you’re driving on the other side of the road like in Europe.
Not sure why this came up on my recommendation feed, but anyway. I been carrying for 21 years. I started at age 20. I'm 41 and worn the hell out. It took me almost ten years just to get full time (regular). Thinking of working another 20 years...ugh!!! As bad as a prison sentence. Everything would be fine if management spent less time micromanaging every move everyone makes and let us do our job. It's a toxic work environment, morale is as low as it's ever been. If I didn't need the insurance so bad, I would have been gone a decade ago. I remember when I was new. It was a good job. I looked forward to going in. Now I've turned into one of those carriers I used to see that were worn down and miserable. Give it enough time, you'll end up the same way.

Depends. I just finished my 3 day orientation this week and sent my application in about 2.5 months ago.

You will know on your orientation
Be prepared to work 7 days a week indefinitely, 10 to 12 hours a day. You will have no life and horrible supervisors who will abuse you.
