I love the confidence he put on Rick at 42:30 with Rick worrying about the branches and Will responds with "Naw, you're gonna be fine, don't even see the branches" and then follows it immediately with "You can, yes you can" when Rick starts to question where he can drop it. Fantastic to see how a Caddie works with the golfer. Wish you all the best in your Tour career Will.
I'm sure it's a significant adjustment that a player has to make when they have a caddie, but I did feel that Rick didn't make it and constantly over-rode Will's advice. Will didn't fight him on it, which I suspect is the sign of a good caddie anyway. The other thing that I noticed Rick doing that maybe Will could have pulled him up on was thinking holes ahead instead of focussing on the ball at his feet and the shot needed to play that. Certainly all Will's advice was about that shot, not some mythical shot on the next hole.
You've really stepped up the content and taken the editing to a new level. The hole previews using drone footage with the distance to hazards info overlayed, is superb. General camera work, breaking the 4th wall just enough. I'm really impressed with this. Maybe a new mini series, introducing new caddies? I also like how you tie your videos into the podcast and vice versa. Top stuff, keep up the good work!
One of the best vdos by Rick showing all of us how professional the tour caddies are and the kind of info they give ... the yardage the green read and the tee off ... awesome. Worth watching .
Loved how humble you kept and apologized at throwing him the ball and what a class response by will. I enjoyed the video so much Rick. Hope to see some more like this. Have you done something like this with Guy?
Love his demeanor. Caddies are so good at never getting down and making sure the only shot you are thinking about is the one you are about to hit and not the bad one you just hit. Makes for a much more even keel round of golf even when it's not going so great. Not to mention...all the information they provide you with is invaluable. Great episode.
I think the best thing Will did for you today was keep your head level. When you have a non-ideal start in these break 75 videos, you tend to over think things and he didn’t give you the opportunity to and it really showed with the way you finished the round. Great video as always, Rick!
I think the confidence a caddie can give you is the invaluable feeling a player benefits from. If you trust them, you're more likely to make better swings. Better swings make lower scores. Confidence is such a big part of this game.
Genuinely one of the best videos you have done in my opinion.. super interesting and informative to hear all of Will's analytical advice for each hole using all his professional experience. Would absolutely love to see more like this, keep up the great work - you've been making some awesome content!
Brilliant episode. Thoroughly enjoyable. Some of the best rounds I've ever had have been with caddies. Just about how much to carry or lay up and especially the putting!
You always do a great job of vocalizing the mental drama that's part of the journey that we all go through on the golf course. I could sense you bordering on going into what my buddy calls "the little dark room" - which we've seen when your #Break75 rounds start running away from you. It's such a relatable experience especially as my game has gotten better! I'm glad you had Will along today to help keep you on target! Keep the good stuff coming!
So interesting the conversation between player and caddie. I know this is something that is being introduced to tour golf but would love to hear more of it. Another brilliant video
Absolutely outstanding content again ,awesome to see how Rick can get so far out of position off the tee but still manages to get away with par, like Will said “no room for pictures on the scorecard “ it doesn’t matter how only how many
So glad you got him on the video! I watched both of them at the Shopritr LPGA classic, and it was incredible. He has such a good way of calming the player down, reassuring them, and letting them choose their own line at just the right times. Caddies are amazing
honestly a really good round... the expectation of 68 69 at the beginning set the tone but really we were just aiming for under 75. so you 74 and under is mission accomplished. some of your misses would be my dream shots. keep at it !
Great video, one of my favorites in this series. Loved Will Davidson. I can see the value on the reinforcement, the keeping focus, etc., even when it's nothing more than an "I agree." Maybe I'm just speaking too much for myself, but even when I am "pretty sure" I know the line--even on short putts, or how to play a shot into the green, etc., there's some small amount of doubt that keeps me from fully committing too many times. I need a Will Davidson in my life.
Just wanna say thanks for this video Rick. Have been knocking on the door of a sub 80 score for a while. Hadn’t watched this video until Friday this week and seeing how you guys approached the round and various tee shots helped me break 80 today. NEW PB of 78!!!! 🙌🏾
I’ve never had a caddie but I did like the fact that he was encouraging you to hit a shot confidently. Giving the input and recommending certain shots but letting you make the call and backing you up on it to commit to it
This is a great concept Rick and team. I love the break 75 series already, but this is a really nice extra bit of detail and information. Loved it. Thank you for the great content, your team are absolutely great and I think you’re smashing it.
I have truly reverted to watching you Rick over any other television going. You don’t make enough of these, I vote for 2 a week 😃. Never give up making the break 75’s mate.
I always love the way caddies (mostly as far as I know) always try and think positively during a round. Never say anything negative to the player, to keep the thoughts positive
That was so cool to see how a caddie can really help your game. We see it in the pros and expect it of course. Sometimes we need to really have a chat with ourselves on the course and make better decisions. Thanks for this video! Rich Z
This was one of the most interesting videos I knew what caddies did but it was really cool to actually hear and see one who’s a professional in action. Great idea for a video Rick! I’d love to see more behind the scenes videos like this!
I always enjoy your videos and this one did not disappoint. It took a few holes, but you and Will developed a good chemistry that definitely helped your final score. The interaction with Will and his advice was eye-opening to say the least. It provided insight into the partnership between a tour pro and their caddy. Thanks for another great video!
Great video. Great insight to caddie life. Surprised he didn't encourage u to play to ur current shape. Still had you aiming middle when you were heavy drawing everything. Plus surprised didnt encourage early putts getting them to the hole. Once pace greens dialled in was a putting masterclass. Great round considering spots you found yourself in. Level par with about 2 fairways found.
I agree that caddies definitely keep you level headed. Helping control your emotions. Especially after poor shots. There very good at not just reading the course but counseling you through the frustrations of golf..
I mean, it's not just him and the caddie.... he has an entire film crew with him. Way more pressure than i could handle. I also appreciate Rick appears to be an everyday dude. Little bit of a dad bod, still killing it.
This was awesome Rick. I'm a big Lexi fan so to see you play 18 with her caddie was really cool. Will seems like a super nice guy and can't wait to listen to the podcast. Thanks! And nice round by the way!
Really like Will. Calming influence on the course. Liked the way he knew exactly what shot you needed to play but you both decided what was the right club. Very enlightening on how to plan your way round the course. It's not all about just hitting an 8 iron (my 140 club) because you've got 140 to the pin. Monthly medal tomorrow. Already feel like I'm going to look at things a bit differently.
This caddy is the KING of one-liners! "Let's go find the ball and hit it again" "There aren't any pictures on the scorecard" They just keep coming! What a riot.
Hey Rick. By total chance I got to meet Will yesterday at the Dana Classic. Great guy. Got to chat for a few minutes. So fascinating to see him work with Lexi. Minjee was also in that 3 ball. I felt like I knew them all because of your channel. What a small world.
Glad to see Lexi's caddie, Will Davidson. Lexi needed a good caddie because the caddie before Will was fairly incompetent. I saw him keep her from winning a tournament. He misclubbed her at a major in the wind...she was short three times in a row. Glad she has Will now. Lexi needs encouragement. She can get down on herself. 'Nice come back on the back nine, Rick! Good round!
Rick, what I found so fascinating was Will's attention to detail, prior to and throughout the 18 holes. No wonder you thought, at times, that you were letting him down.
Wow, I was rooting so hard for you on this round. Interesting how you can feel pressure to just shoot an arbitrary score with nothing else on the line. That's golf. Love it.
Arguably, my favourite break 75. Frustrated, excited, elated, angry, informative. Just a roller coaster of emotions when watching this. Thats what makes it great
If you ever do this again, tell us what club and distance you would do, then contrast that with what you and your caddie decide together. Will take a lot more time, but I would be so interested in the difference, if there's any.
I was surprised at how much difference there was between what Rick thought the distance was on a few occasions verses what Will said was the actual distance. Interesting eh.
"theres no pictures on the scorecard" "but there are videos on youtube" that's such a simple yet brilliant exchange given the context, also, gotta say, I am absolutely loving Will's demeanour. Loved this! Great the way you kept the round together, I would have fallen apart after the par 3 double but the round improved, great work from the caddy.
Very nice, Rick! You kept your head in the game and didn’t talk yourself into a bad round. Instead, you got over your bad shots quickly and shot a great round because of it. 🤘🏻
Rick: Hits 35 draws to the left side.
Also Rick: Aims right to play the draw - hits it straight.
He's one of us. Bless him.
Nah we would hit draw 35 times, aim straight and slice it right, no half measures
He talks a good game but............

@@guyr7351 have you been spying on me?! My life right there. 😂
Ricks determination to call his hooks, pulls and duck hooks as “too much draw” continues to amaze me
Definitely. It’s the golf version of “carrying just a few extra pounds.”
Wow, Will is a class act. Full on professional. Always giving exactly as much or as little advice as needed for each situation. Remarkable.
Is it me or does Will have a clever one liner for every situation?
He’s clearly been doing this for a while aye
“Hey, caddy’s gotta think on their toes”
I’m new to golf but it seems important as a caddy to keep the mood light and the players from overthinking it so that’s probably why he does that
Will: "There's only one play here"
Rick: "Big hook"
Will: "punch something under the tree"
Probably sums up golf perfectly
I know dude like why have the caddie if you’re going to do whatever the hell you want? Lol
I'm sure it's a significant adjustment that a player has to make when they have a caddie, but I did feel that Rick didn't make it and constantly over-rode Will's advice. Brilliant. And what a great guy he is. The thought that goes into each shot and the confidence he gives the player is incredible.

my fav rick video ever. So fun to watch
Rick: I’m just going to let you tell me everything today.
Also Rick on his second shot: I think I can hit a slinging high 3 iron.
Right! It was killing me he didn't just sit and listen.
Of course when you have a caddie for the first time you simply can’t think for yourself…..
I think the best thing Will did for you today was keep your head level. When you have a non-ideal start in these break 75 videos, you tend to over think things and he didn’t give you the opportunity to and it really showed with the way you finished the round. Great video as always, Rick!
The “disappointing the caddie” is definitely a an aspect I can relate to😂. Thank you for another Friday episode! Loving these!
