Reminds me of my dad, may he rest in peace, as we chatted on the course one day. We were talking about the pros and the clubs they use, and how dialed in and tailored for them they are. He said, "Sure, they have club fitters who get every club perfect for them, but those guys could beat us playing with a banana on a string."
Lord, how I miss him, along with the time out on the course.

On a a pga tour course setup the same as a tournament from 1975…should be easy to arrange for Bryson.

That's the most impressive 6 holes of golf I've seen in a long time! Your skill level is off the charts. I can't believe you were able to hit those clubs knowing what kind of compensations your body had to make. Thanks for an enjoyable 20 minutes. I suggest a 6-hole challenge with hickory shafted clubs and gutta-percha balls.

Bryson, you have become one of my absolute favorite UA-cam personalities. I like so many others, only saw what I perceived as just another arrogant PGA golfer when I first saw you play. I figured you for a guy that could hit the ball far but would never find much success. I will admit that not only was I wrong about your abilities. I was completely wrong about your character. You are the #1 reason that i went back to watching Pro Golf, again! When you dunked that shot on 18 at the Masters this year, I stood up and yelled at my TV! It gave me chills! Yeh he’s fantastic. Crazy to think so many , including myself , thought he was a tool. Not even close . He’s unbelievable on UA-cam not to mention how much of his time he gives to other channels and creators . Even the shout out to Garrett at the start of this vid . Genuinely likeable guy outside the ropes and now I enjoy watching him much better in tourney mode

I love to watch these challenges to see your mind at work. It kind of brings you down to "weekend golfer" level. You know guys who own clubs but have no idea how far any of them go. They don't fit so constantly adjusting everything.
But the cool thing is taking your golf swing knowledge and club knowledge and watching you adjust. Especially watching you clean clubs, something very few weekends do thanks.

Without a doubt, this is the most entertaining golf video on You Tube. A U.S. Open Champion, the most powerful pro golfer on the planet, playing with a cheap, partial junior set of clubs from Walmart and shooting even par. At the same time, having great fun for our enjoyment. Way to go Bryson (and Chase). Destined to be a classic.....
What would also be really interesting to see is how much he could lower his' score if he first spent a couple days with these clubs getting much more familiar with them.

Yes, if you’re Bryson and can adjust on the fly this applies. But if you are a weekend warrior it’s important to have clubs that fit to your abilities, swing speed etc. A 25hcp shouldn’t be playing blades and would play better with game improvement irons.

@@Grimdewulf77 Agreed I don't now feel bad about buying a 20 year old set of Callaway X12 irons off ebay for £40 along some scuffed up taylormade RBZ and Jetspeed woods for another £50.

Depends on your level. Once you get up in the scratch realm clubs that precisely fit your swing are important.
i play like 10 rounds a year then complain as i am not as good as these guys at the masters who played 10 games this week

This was so entertaining and actually pretty impressive. I did not expect even a pro could get those results from a junior starter set. It's not just the big difference in quality of the clubs, but the significantly shorter length that you'd think would be a massive handicap.

This was so awesome. I love watching a world class player using budget off the shelf clubs. It just goes to show you that when you are really good equipment is no obstacle to success. How he was able to adjust his game to the club limitations was very neat.

You should do more of those challenges. Budget clubs, +/- 500$ secondhand set, you pick your clubs like Rick and Peter Golfbidder challenge. It was a great watch.

I saw in the comment replies there was a young kid asking Bryson for advice and he really took the time to let him know a video to watch and help with technique. As really the only golfer on tour with a consistent UA-cam channel, id love to see a video that shows the behind the scenes role of your caddie. Like does he watch your practices to know your tendencies, weak and strong areas ECT to help with on course management.

It's so refreshing to see a pro golfer do this fun stuff. It's what we need to see more of. I follow Bryson now and I'm a big fan of his now because he shows us his fun side to playing golf. I also love the fact that I can watch LIV golf on youtube. I no longer pay for Skysports golf because I do not agree with the high cost of the subscription.
