Hey guys. Just a quick reassuring word from me; if the aeroplane has to land with a crosswind, the pilot cannot align the plane with the runway straight away, so he uses a "crabbing" manouvre in which he uses the rudder to point the nose of the plane into the direction of the wind until he is going slow enough to drop the wheels onto the runway. A little disconcerting for the passengers, but a well-practiced technique in aviation. Anyway, you guys are living the dream. Lap it all up you are so much fun to watch and "ride" with. Keep making the vids they are a highlight of my day. By the way, no pipe cleaner could ever look as gorgeous as you Amy. Keep the love, and I look forward to your next ride.
Just got back from my longest ride yet. Nothing compared to your rides obviously, but I’m chuffed. 17.8 miles, 2hr9m, 918ft climb. But it was also a gravel ride on a hybrid bike with road tires. The gravel was fairly loose and the climbs were almost impossible with my rear wheel spinning the power away. And the downhills also had to slow and steady. It was the first time I went out in the cold, with layers, prepared with snacks, and planned a lunch stop. Thank you both for the inspiration!
Riding with my "Breeze" group, leaders are trained to say, car back when it's behind and possibly going to overtake, car up, if in front or bike up if on a cycle path and a bike is coming towards you. Brilliant video as always, lucky you, off out in the sunshine again 🥰🥰
Hey Amy and Kyle, you are quite experienced now at travelling with your bikes, could you do a video of how you pack your bikes to travel in the case. There are lots of videos available but I would like to see how you to do it and Kyle is a practical sort of bloke. Hey with the brake pads you can use a tyre lever to push them back sometimes a bit more friendly on the pads than a screwdriver. Hey if you do a bike box packing video that would be great and people would be interesting.
With road tyres on a gravel surface, those figures that you quote add up to quite a decent pace actually. Only ever compare your ride statistics to that of your own previous rides, then you'll get the true picture of your progress. Being layered up and with snacks/lunch stop is the way to do it too! 👌🙂 All the best for your future rides 🚲👍

What a beautiful place, I'm not jealous in the slightest😉I had the exact opposite conditions for my bike ride today, 100 miles exactly but at least half of that was in rain😂Thankfully it wan't cold, unusual for Scotland😉This was my 20th imperial century of the year, I wanted to get it done before the clocks change... Looking forward to the next episode😊
Use your brake spacers when your wheel is off love. And get a pad spreader too. Just in case. Easy fix, if I can do it anyone can. Glad you had fun. Wish I could get away to ride, not a chance. Brassic.
Hi Amy I’ve just finished reading your book 👏 Three words to describe you 1. Courageous - to tell your story warts and all is to be applauded and commended 2. Strong - for taking the decision to change career. Massively important for people not to do things that make them unhappy. Also strong in regards to your cycling. Absolutely amazing journey. I started cycling about the same time as you (although 30 years older 😢) and give myself massive kudos when i do 100 kms 😂 3. Happy - i think you know how to get to your happy place more easily now and can have fewer low days (which everyone has from time to time) You also have an amazing husband, family and friends who clearly love you. That is brilliant. Keep going with your channel as it motivates me to get out. Next April my big challenge is Mont Ventoux, I’m panicking already. Haha 😊

Car up, car down… car up = car up your arse. Car down = car down your throat. That’s what I was taught by a seasoned Audaxer many years ago however my current club mates say it the other way, just to confuse things.
🎉Get an old bank card or similar, fold it in half and wedge it between the pads whenever you take the wheel out. Or pay Shimano or Sram for the proper tool
Why do you ride 2 abreast on the roads and basically taking up the entire road?? Just wondering if there is something I am missing, here in the US, unless the shoulder is wide enough to be 2 abreast we ride single file. Just curious no judgement 😊😊
In the uk we ride 2 a breast, although it should be tight. It's also in the highway code. Although on narrow roads we ride single file. I'm guessing the excitement of the 1st ride got to them 😅. I bet the USA is lovely to ride 👍
I think the idea is that riding two up takes up less length of road than riding single file, so takes less time for a vehicle to overtake. Whether bikes are two up or in single file any overtaking vehicle should always give the same clearance as they would to any other vehicle.
“Stand eating up. Eat standing up.” I see what Kyle means about you repeating yourself. But on the other hand, you only got it right the second time, so maybe you need to.
That was a bit harsh announcing to UA-cam that Kyle can’t swim 😢 I hate to say this as I love your videos but I feel like you put him down a lot and make little digs about how much he eats etc quite a bit. Sorry 😢 💜

It’s just a case of pushing the brake pads & pistons back into the calliper. A tyre lever usually dose the trick.
