Decided to use this 2014 Caprice PPV as the donor engine for the BMW E39 swap. Had to get it running, then tore it apart. Please visit mrhevyshevy.com for some cool swag.
Have always thought 'retired' police cruiser are a great buy at auctions. Friends of mine have had many. many such vehicles as 'winter beaters'. But most of them have become daily drivers for wives, partners, kidlets, etc. They are almost always very well maintained and if you do your diligence before the bidding starts, you can weed out the damaged ones. Typically they're like your with upgraded drivetrains and suspension. Look forward to seeing more of the little man and this swap. Be safe and stay well.
Dodge Charger has an electric over hydro power steering system that sits in the passenger front fender well. That might be one heck of a project though
You saying the kid in you made you have to fire it up without the exhaust on it. Made me think about my brother and I when we done an engine swap on something. We always had to fire it up without the exhaust on it. When we got it in the car. Sometimes, without the manifolds on them. Just watch the fire come out of the heads and listen to it, Roar. You'll be stay safe, and God bless. Dan 🇺🇸
Yeah, I watched what happened with the '57 swap. That's why I suggested something simpler for the Beemer. 😁 I admire your grit in attempting another swap, tho. Good luck!
Caprices are fun, but parts are getting harder to come by. Not drivetrain parts, but everything else Lt1 swap in MO will turn off afm if you send the pcm into him.

Hohum. I guess the boy won't get to drive that old Ford truck after all.
Are you or have you thought of modifying the front subframe from the squad car to fit the BMW? That car is going to be sweet!!
👍🏻🍻
Has the little voices in your head start screaming, just put a small block in it and I’ll have it done in a week …lol.

What kind of Chevy is that? We don’t see them in europe. Kinda like it. Maybe gonna try to import one to the netherlands
Same as Australia’s Holden.
Are you going to D.O.D delete kit on the motor?????
put a 6.0 truck ECM on this engine, that will detune it a plenty.
