Make sure you put a bow tie emblem in front of the 528i emblem to make the Beamer lovers scowl! In fact put some on the fenders and grille too while you’re at it. May just be the best BMW I’ve ever seen!!!!👍

I have the full BMW machanic service and electrical manuals for the e39 if you want them. Ran a 2002 Topaz Blue 540 6spd for 12 years 500,000klms 🇨🇦 great car driving experience is top shelf.
I think if the young man sticks around and helps through the entire project, maybe a nice thought would be to buy him a set of new tires for all four corners. He might not think much about it at the time, but he’ll look back and know you were looking out for him. Looks like a fun project, thanks for sharing.
Can you still take him in an arm wrestle. Thats when I figured out that all the wrenches below one inch were mine and they could take the big bolts out. Lol
My brother has a G8 Pontiac - it's a similar setup to this car - size is similar and 6l LS with 6 speed tranny. It goes like the WIND. This swap has potential.
I remember back in the day fellas would swap small block Chevys into Jaguars. My neighbor had one years back. This should be a fun adventure. I have a shop bird also. Its name is Chirp. It flys in every morning as soon as I open the big shop door.
I had an 01 530i. M sport. Truly one of the beat cars I've owned. Was a 5 speed manual and got 32 mpg on hwy. I put a lot of miles on it and the only problem I recall was with the abs module. Sent off and repaired for $100. Great car. They don't make em like they used too.
What a joy it is to watch you and the Chevy sprout interact in the shop! I know its a pleasure to spend any time with em at that age! I hate to be a prude, BUT, make an effort to have him wear some eye protection while cutting with the Sawzall. He'll thank you in about 20 yrs. Great content!😊
@@MrHevyshevy I can relate! I have a couple of Sprouts too, that's the usual response! Particularly with boys-men. 😂 Mine are a bit older, 40 and 52, respectively. The grandkids are more receptive to suggestions, I've learned! PAPA GRIZZ from Northern Calif! 👍

My advice for working on BMW's is lose weight. no joke... you can't get your arms into most places cuz the folks who put them together had to be elves. I won't own one.

no no NOOOOOOO V-8. That is a fine car! just put a factory 2.5l straight 6 in there! Great handling and great top speed.
