I had the same exact feeling Lauren was talking about recently with the acne. What I told myself is to help is that people who love you might notice it but they don’t care. If someone makes a comment about it it says more about them.
I absolutely love it when you ladies talk about how toxic the “beauty standards” are today!! People don’t talk about it enough and I love people who can talk about how toxic it really is!!❤️ Keep being loud about this topic!
I absolutely loved this episode. As someone who has recently been so insecure about her belly because of digestive problems, I felt so good hearing you say all these things that we usually don't remind ourselves of. The only thing I would like to add is that another toxic thing I've been seeing on the internet is that it feels like you're only allowed to have a belly pouch if you gave birth. As if you needed a justification for every imperfection in your body. It's so sad...
Catherine talking about never seeing scars while you've got lots of them hit home hard. I have dermatillomania and my body is covered in scars but I never hear people talk about it. Thanks Cath for making me feel seen and for talking about it! 💕
My weight has yo-yo'd my entire life. At this point I'm currently at a lifetime highest weight and it feels awful. I will say I do feel a little better when I am wearing clothes that fit instead of trying to wear my old clothes. I just need a few pieces I can always grab and it does help in the moment to get through being around people when I am so uncomfortable.
Entire podcast… excellent content conveyed so, so well! Amongst everything, I especially loved the idea of replacing negative words/ thoughts about my body with positive words & thus positive thoughts. E.G. ~ ‘This mastectomy & thin post-chemo hair makes me feel unattractive & like my femininity is gone.’ Instead, ‘There’s a story & a purpose behind my new physical appearance. (‘I’m your’s, Lord. Use me.Teach me.’) The mastectomy & thin hair is an opportunity; stretching me to find & exude my attractiveness & femininity from WITHIN. Most important, this is all helping me keep God #1 in my life.

Honestly body image is a big reason why celebs don't have my respect. Especially if they preach about positive body image but do nothing to back it up. I remember ONCE zendaya called out a magazine for editing her body but since that one time hers been in countless other photos shoots all edited. They never tell you the lengths they go to to get their skin clear and smooth or that they Lazer their hair all over their body. They're are SO many things they DONT tell us and they WANT it that way. THEY DONT CARE. Now that models have youtube channels I came across one searching for a simple makeup tutorial. The model was candid in saying that its funny how gua shas are so popular now but she has been using them for YEARS. So women have been comparing their jaw line to women that have been LITERALLY SCULPTUNG THEIR FACES BEHIND THE SCENES TO 'erase' the skin under their skin , it's all fake

I know this is a year after the fact but I just want to thank you guys for this podcast. I watched most of it last night and then today I put it on again and lo and behold the exact problem im having is what yall talk about! My day was actually kinda horrible and body image like -0000/10 yk? And Kath has an amazing thing on how to deal with bad body image days😮. yall just make this show so safe and comforting and I’m really grateful❤❤God bless you all
20:30 when companies take pictures of their clothing with models they will also use clips like when you go wedding dress shipping to fit it however they need to make it look good on the model 🙌 I forget where I read it
you can never make people happy with your appearance and you shouldn't have to, I was slightly overweight and lost it for a more healthy weight (mid range for my height) and got told I am too skinny and looked 'healthier' before when I was overweight/had new red stretch marks at 24 which is very bad

Amy what I do is I have a little small zipper wallet pouch thing and I keep it on a lanyard around my neck with my keys when I go out I can get you one I have extras and I don’t live far 😂
I have NEVER had a nice body. It used to bother me when I was younger and I was so self conscious, but the older I got, the less I cared. Now I which I cared more, because I’ve just booked a holiday and realised the seats are only 17inches wide, so I’m thinking I should probably finally lose the baby weight, more for comfort on the aeroplane more than anything else 😂 but I’m on day two of a diet and yesterday ended in Pizza Hut (not my fault - I took my daughter to her friend’s party) and today i did well until tea time and I ended up eating ice cream, toast and cinnamon rolls 😅 I’m so weak!! Lol. I need to care more about how I look so that I can lose the weight
can you guys do an episode on the enneagram?? and also if you guys know what your tritypes are can you share as well because i’m curious! thanks so much for considering and i hope y’all have an amazing rest of your day!!
