It is a good thing that the Bahamas is closed for outsiders. that way the fish will have a chance to grow in size and population. By the time you start heading back your next videos will be full of nice fish.. 👍❤🛥
Hey Mate, great video. I’d love a Minn Kota but due to my boats design I doubt I’d be able to fit one. It looked like you had a good days fishing but, I don’t understand why you leave the rod in the rod holder while bringing in a fish. Your arms act as shock absorbers and work with the flex in the rod and stretch in the line to prevent shock loads causing pulled hooks, snapped line and rod damage especially if your drag is locked. There is so much more control over the fish with rod in hands. Well, update for Melbourne, Australia, we are now allowed to travel up to 25km from home (woohoo) how generous of our Dictator. Last night of night shift tonight and two weeks leave starting 1 Nov. Weather is looking good so I’m going to do two days, one night on the boat.....I’m soooo excited 🎣🎣🎣🎣🍺🍺🍺🍺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
thanks Cammo and you are right im going to buy a fishing belt so i can support my rod, and sorry to hear about your dictators handling of things ,and have a awesome days of fishing cap. and hope you have some fun doing so. thanks for the great suggestion cap👍👍
How did you get the boat up the last foot after the strap snapped on your trailer ? I had a boat with a bad cable and safety chain, now I go overkill with the tie downs.
That mankota is the bee's knees I've got to figure out how to put one on my Monterey 26 good video buddy that was a huge shark that you had on the line I've got a question how many amp hours is one of the batteries
Thanks captain and yes those batteries are 100 amp each I place the link in description below if you want to check them out Captain there are some batteries and they have a little bit bigger ones too check out the link👍
Hi Captain, thanks for posting the videos. Have you used the Trolling motor to assist you in docking your boat? like a bow thruster? to maintain control of your bow when getting into a tight berth? I have a 27 foot Aluminum Alaskan cabin boat with a single 300 HP Mercury and wondering if the Terrova can do double duty as both a trolling motor and a "bow thruster" to control the bow of the boat when docking. Thanks
Hello captain and yes it does help me as a bald thruster but but my boat weighs 4500 pounds about and I'm concerned about your boat weight, how much does it weigh captain?
@@allenhuey In your case it could work on moderate conditions but if it's very windy tend to 15 miles per hour winds your Minecraft may have to work hard and it may not work as is designed But definitely in good weather it will work In my case if it's 4 to 5' c's minecrput cease mind works perfect because I weigh a lot less but with your weight it will probably cut off But my recommendation is go to minkotas website and they have description about the weight ratings of their motors. Or even better try to call them and ask them questions about your specific of your boat
hi captain very choppy sea out there , you need to have someone with you and never go alone no matter how good you are prepared , never underestimate choppy water and sharks. otherwise very good fishing trip one more thing i recommend when boating in those choppy waters trim your engine fully down to raise the bow and go zigzagging and never drive in parallel with big waves to avoid capsizing god forbids stay and navigate safe captain .
Mary Gray suggestion captain the waves were sideway there weren't that bad but there was a ocations in some huge waves I see what you're saying, thanks cap😉👍👍
@@hiroller27 Can't you guys see the Crooked Pilot house has trim tabs? Now, if the manufacturer installed them, they could be crooked as well. If Out On the Reef installed them - they are perfect! He has OCD!! In a good way!!! Great videos!
@@OutOnTheReef Can you tell us what the dimension is from the mounting bracket to the waterline for your boat? I have a Pursuit 2270 I'm wanting to by a 72" shaft trolling motor for and think is't pretty close to yours.
If you see the stomach poking out the fishes mouth, it means the swim bladder has blown up and needs to be aspirated before release. Many of the released red snapper were eaten by those sharks you saw. Hopefully the cobia fought harder and came up slower, so no expanded swim bladders (except the one that got bit, its a goner). You need to move when you are getting sharked and only catching shorts.
Hey cap, just finished watching the video... saw in a Facebook Parker group that guys are able to get 50 normal hours on 36 volts..don’t know how accurate that is though
Hello Mike my boat is 21 feet and loaded with fuel and equipment is 5000lb cap. And i have the 36v 112 and my suggestion dont go anything smaller and my shaft is 72 ,i hope this info helps cap.👍⚓️
Great videos as always! Quick question with the minn Kota. Did you not go with the auto deploy because of the bow railing? I’ve seen others cut their rails which I don’t want to do, so I am wondering if the only option is the self deployed minn Kota like you have here? Thanks and keep it up!
Estan como a 20 millas mas o menos de cabo cañaveral, son conosidos, las coordenadas las encuentras en la internet. Uno al sureste y el otro al noreste. Yo no he hido ahi todavia estoy por it.
Yes I got five of those and I have to get rid of them because they were not the right size two of them were missing one in can you believe it oh well next time
I really don't have room on top of the Pilot House even if I put 2 solar panels a hundred Watts wouldn't be enough the generator gets me 20 amps right away which is faster charging if I run the generator half an hour then having the solar panels to hold a so it's more efficient to run the generator due to lack of room for the solar panels but thank you for the great suggestion captain
Yes I looked it up but it doesn't fit on my boat I have no storage for it I will have to install it where the fuel tank goes but then I would have no fuel😁
If you drop a chum bag in the water and freeline it at the same time, you can catch all kinds of goodies such as the yellowtail or mutton snappers and trigger fish, to name of a few.
I need to go prepare with one of those sometime Captain so I can try it it is a great idea I see a lot of fishermen doing that thanks for the great suggestion captain👍
@@OutOnTheReef You need to chum A LOT!! All the bait fish such as the ballyhoo will congregate behind the boat and the snappers will be further out. Get yourself a ballyhoop (it's very pricey but it's well worth it! Just google it, they make them right here in Miami) and then you can scoop those bait fish up with that net, then chop them up and drop those as well to sweeten the deal -:) Then, all the giant snappers will come to investigate and that's when you'll hit the BULLS EYE!! Word of caution: I know you are a neat freak (like I am -:), your boat will get really messy, just ignore it while fishing, you will do the deep scrubbing afterwards... No MESS, NO GAIN!!! -:)
Too far north for yellotail probably even mutton. Go off of Pompano beach to get yellotail, mangrove, mutton. Not really much red snapper down there though. They also have vermillion and silky but they are deeper 300ish ft.
I use un the golf of maine and it hold me in place as the tides are Ripping and whe wind is blowing 30 with little effort.regular prop on 10 os like a 5 on kipawa .You Use Very Little Battery....

The Shark problem is getting out of control here in Florida and the FWC rules does not let us do anything about it. Look how many people have been bitten by sharks the last couple of months something needs to be done
If it continues I think people are going to have to take matters to their own hands it is a huge problem I see them everywhere and they protect them I don't know why it's the reason
@@OutOnTheReef I agree I don't know how many more people need to get hurt before this becomes a problem for the City's pockets we already have the shark bite capital of the world in New Smyrna Beach, FL Of the 64 unprovoked attacks worldwide, 21 of them were in Florida. I lose about 60% of fish to sharks where your not fighting the fish you are fighting to get them in boat before the shark does and takes a lot of the fun of fishing!

I am glad you like my Minn Kota installation that means a lot to me that you like the captain👍👍😉
Nice video Capt ! Good fishing
Thanks 👍 for watching cap.
That minn kota just changed your fishing game
Too bad you couldnt keep all those red snappers or those cobias but it was still a good day
Keep those lines tight cap
Yes captain now I can get 75% more fish this way of fishing changes everything captain it's like hunting a deer while riding a helicopter LOL
Hi there.. It will be nice to tell Us How you rig up your fishing Poles
That's a great idea I have done it in older videos but I have not done it recently thanks for the great advice cap.
Thank you so much for your video, help me a lot to finely decide to go for minn kota. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome captain and if you need any of the items that I use for my installation I place the link in the description below if I could help you
Nice job captain. Love the Minn Kota in action
Thanks Ed is one of the best items I have purchased for my boat makes fishing a dream👍👍
Good video! What is the hight from the bow to bow rail just minnkota is fixed? I don't want to cut bow rail... Thanks
I have the highest rail This bolt come standard with small rails But mine goes higher than the windows you can see that This is called the California rail
Is about 19 inches
@@OutOnTheReef thanks!! I follow all your videos, give us good ideas. I'll share your videos because people like you are big! Tight lines!

Thank you Daryl the Minn Kota helped a lot on fishing since I was on top of the rib the whole time it was awesome thank you for watching captain
Another one! Great video!
Glad you like it cap. thanks for watching
Hey Capt.
So the six boats are all friends you all got together? Or did you meet up as a club?
no we all are friends from town

Not sure when this was filmed. There’s a Cat 2 hurricane southeast of Bermuda. Probably explains for the extra chop.
Weather is creazy here now cap but is fun👍
Gorgeous boat. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm in the market for a Terrova...you sold me. I think you need a fishing buddy. ;-) Cheers!
awesome unit to have the ipilot cap. and thanks for the offer cap.👍👍
Nice job Cap! Where did you leave from?
Port Canaveral captain
Good day on water Capt Crooked nice catches on those cobia need to put two bags of chum out. Freddy and I are getting boat and trailer ready to go pennycamp state park in key largo soon as we get a good weather window. Talk again Capt Crooked. Trolling motor worked good but out of a lot of ppl price range JT 🇺🇸🇺🇸🐠🐟🎣🛥🌴⛱😊😊🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yes I agree it's very expensive especially with batteries and charger you looking over $3,000 captain plus installation which was really hard.
And I hope you do good on your next trip and don't forget to make video so I can see a captain I'm waiting for it.
Navigate safe hooked and rolling offshore👍👍
Where did you buy that water hose and water hose faucet I just set that up on my old boat
Hello cap. And here is the link of the hose Blue a.co/d/hiHvu7B
Next project, add solar to keep the batteries charged while out. Probably need somewhere around 400 watts for your battery bank, but would be based on your current draw. Great job on the Add one and maintenance.
The only thing is I don't have space on the roof of my pilot house for solar panels captain so I have to use my generator
put a tower for spotting tuna :)
Once I get my boat I would love to go out with you guys one day.
About 20 to 25 miles our is about 120 feet deep that's great fishing cap.
How deep does the Atlantic get when you're crossing to the Bahamas?
@@two64sanda10 over 2000 ft
It is a good thing that the Bahamas is closed for outsiders. that way the fish will have a chance to grow in size and population. By the time you start heading back your next videos will be full of nice fish.. 👍❤🛥
I was thinking the same thing Captain everything will be replenished specially lobsters
😉👍🏝✌
I put the broken strap around the O ring of the boat and I was able to bring it up that way it was easy then I replace it after I got home
That mankota is the bee's knees I've got to figure out how to put one on my Monterey 26 good video buddy that was a huge shark that you had on the line I've got a question how many amp hours is one of the batteries
Thanks captain and yes those batteries are 100 amp each
I place the link in description below if you want to check them out Captain there are some batteries and they have a little bit bigger ones too check out the link👍
@@OutOnTheReef probably about 6,000 to 6,500 lbs total with main motor, kicker motor and full tank (120 gallons).
@@OutOnTheReef ok, thanks!

That one you throw back to the water black spot is biajaiba you can keep it
did not know that cap , thanks for letting me know👍👍⚓
Did you consider the ulterra riptide? What made you decide on the terrova? Thanks in advance
well if you are talking about the self diploid i could not use it because of my bow rail it was on the way 👍⚓
hi captain very choppy sea out there , you need to have someone with you and never go alone no matter how good you are prepared , never underestimate choppy water and sharks. otherwise very good fishing trip one more thing i recommend when boating in those choppy waters trim your engine fully down to raise the bow and go zigzagging and never drive in parallel with big waves to avoid capsizing god forbids stay and navigate safe captain .
Mary Gray suggestion captain the waves were sideway there weren't that bad but there was a ocations in some huge waves I see what you're saying, thanks cap😉👍👍
Trimming engine down brings the bow down not up, but is correct for choppy waters
@@hiroller27 Can't you guys see the Crooked Pilot house has trim tabs?
Now, if the manufacturer installed them, they could be crooked as well.
If Out On the Reef installed them - they are perfect! He has OCD!! In a good way!!!

Spot lock put you on the fish!
yes cap is like hunting deer from a helicopter lol
Capt, did the minn kota prop stay in the water with the large swells?
Yes 98% of the time was always on the water so this is the right shaft for this boat the 87 shaft is too long no need for this type of boat
@@OutOnTheReef what brand year and size is your boat?
@@fmaalouf73 this is a Crooked pilothouse boat only one built like this cap.one of a kind👍👍⚓
@@OutOnTheReef lucky guy. I dig that style boat. You had it custom built? Is there a manufacturer?

Captain get a GoPro rig on a pole and get some underwater video for the next big shark..
That is an awesome idea Captain I will do that
Are your partners boats also using spot lock instead of anchoring?
Only two of them had spot lock the other ones could not anchor because of the rough Seas
Oh my friend, IMO you are a little crazy to drive a boat at 3 to 5 waves. Did you come to America with a raft? Hihihi. Good Job 🇨🇺
Yes i did from cuba 1989 😁👍

Can you show me you rigging setup?😊
i do show them in other videos cap and i have the links in the description below of all the items i use, hope this helps cap.
You need to move when you are getting sharked and only catching shorts.
great idea cap. thanks for the suggestion 👍⚓
Any concern with Minn Kota prop cutting or catching a line while fighting a fish?
Not yet cap everything is ok for now👍👍
Can you tell me,where did you get the lights from.
The interior light came from Factory captain
Hey cap, just finished watching the video... saw in a Facebook Parker group that guys are able to get 50 normal hours on 36 volts..don’t know how accurate that is though
Maybe if there's no current in know when I can see it happening
Can I trade my life for yours?!? Love that pilothouse.
lol thanks cap. for watching my channel, is a lot of work but is fun😉👍
Any point using this Minn Kota as a bow thruster?
Or is it too cumbersome ?
It is possible but the controls are difficult is not a joystick
What is the size of your boat and what is the weight? I have a 20' and I'm trying to decide on either the 24/80. Or 36v 112

Great videos as always! Quick question with the minn Kota. Did you not go with the auto deploy because of the bow railing? I’ve seen others cut their rails which I don’t want to do, so I am wondering if the only option is the self deployed minn Kota like you have here? Thanks and keep it up!
thanks cap. and yes to have the self deployed you need to cut the bow rail, that is why i did not go with that one.
You need to get a bigger cooler for the sharks. And the minnkota looks like it worked good
LOL yes a bigger cooler and yes the Minn Kota work perfect thanks for watching
Those big ones were cobia right?

Small solar panel would give barreries longer life
I really don't have room on top of the Pilot House even if I put 2 solar panels a hundred Watts wouldn't be enough the generator gets me 20 amps right away which is faster charging if I run the generator half an hour then having the solar panels to hold a so it's more efficient to run the generator due to lack of room for the solar panels but thank you for the great suggestion captain
dude you need a sea keeper ! lol
I would have changed out that Minn kota prop with the Kipawa
I will look into it in the future captain to see if it's better
I use un the golf of maine and it hold me in place as the tides are Ripping and whe wind is blowing 30 with little effort.regular prop on 10 os like a 5 on kipawa .You Use Very Little Battery....
Probably a good idea to try that prop the poster suggested. Then you could keep the OEM MK prop onboard as a spare. I always have a spare MK OEM onboard. I’ve snapped an ear off chasing bass into the shallows and the spare saved the rest of the day!
