- Fun Fact: When Eiffel 65 released 'Blue (Da Ba Dee)' back in 1998, it was a major flop, selling only 200 records. But in a wild turn of events, the track got picked up by a local station, leading to the song getting airplay on one of Italy's largest radio stations.
In this weeks episode, the team at VICE meet up with Eiffel 65 members, Jeffrey Jey, Maurizio “Maury” Lobina, and Gabry Ponte, to find out the origin story behind "Blue," and hear what it was like to become international superstars in the blink of an eye.
Thanks VICE
The story of my most favorite song of all time!
I remember being in 4th or 5th grade when this song came out
It's fascinating to hear how these things came about & what they ultimately became.
This track brought me to the music that I still love and it will always and forever be my most favorite track! 💙
That's explains everything about the quick song as well of personal lives...
They were way ahead of their time, they single handily broke the ice for introducing Euro style music to the US
