Toni, I'm taking my CPC exam on June 11. How many modifier-related questions were on your test? Anethesia is usually hard, but I'm good at math, so I can probably do well on the "calculate anesthesia time" questions.
I am feeling more and ore confident every day watching you videos...I am getting 99% of the answers correct! I hope to sit for my CPC next week. Have recommended you and you outstanding videos to ALL of my Coding Groups.

If you are new to coding then I suggest you take the COC exam which is very similar to the CPC in the near future so that you will have a better chance to get hired for having multiple credentials. If you are currently working as a coder then passing the CCS will be your ultimate goal. Good luck and thank you so much for your support.

My initial thought it was G89.3, C61, C79.51

Hello Hoang, My only wish is that I found this channel earlier as I am near my exam date and really want to pass 1st time through! I am most worried about knowing guidelines so that I am not wasting time searching for them and slowing me down. Any tips to remember guidelines and where they are quickly ? Thank you sir for this video, I want to call your attention to question 8, the history of COPD that was noted, I noticed that you code it as an existing condition of the patient instead of the personal history of COPD. PLEASE SIR HELP ME TO SHINE MORE LIGHT ON THAT. wait to hear from you soon
Do you have a code for history of COPD? This is a chronic condition and irreversible like CAD, CHF, DM ect. so it always needs to be monitored and that's why I don't think ICD-10 has a code for history of COPD. I hope it helps
Apologies- I see "treated for acute renal failure", so the "acute renal failure" was the reason for being in the SDS?
I am confused as to why you chose that primary code in this video. I chose "A" since they decided specify it was melanoma.

If you have a copy of the ICD-10-CM official coding guidelines, please open and read it. If you are coding a condition or a disease for example neoplasm (cancer), HIV, Acute MI, Covid etc and it is mentioned in the coding guideline, then you know you have to follow the rule. I hope it helps.

I have a doubt related to Q8, that 93454 is with left heart catheterization and 93458 is without concomitant left heart catheterization, so in the Q it is mentioned that patient was admitted for left heart catheterization, so why the answer is not 93458 ?

Can you explain how I can find guidelines after seeing that they’re needed? Once I leave the tabular list and go to he guidelines section I can’t find the right guidelines.
You mentioned E 25.9 but the answer shows H 25.9
What’s the point of studying guidelines?
The guidelines will assist in sequencing codes, stages for some disease process, and the hierarchy of codes.
