  • Finally had a few minutes to get behind the new Swarovski Modular 115mm objective for a bit. Tried out the ATX eyepiece and the BTX bino eye piece, but ran out of light before I got any further. Unfortunately, I was not able to capture any critters this time, was hoping for some deer. Hopefully, I'll have some more footage thru it shortly.
    *Please excuse my 3 yo rustling around in the background lol

    Ladies and gentlemen, we've got a hero who actually records through a spotting scope.

      @@firefightergtx3281 Good, it's called digiscoping and it's a great hobby. Also they're referencing how most reviewers will just ramble on verbally and show nothing useful about the optics in a lot of videos.

    I think you’re the only review on youtube that actually let’s the viewer see through the glass of these amazing scopes. We would appreciate if you could make a similar video of comparison between 115mm and 95mm in same settings to see how big or little of a difference between these objective lenses. And it would be amazing to see the practicality of maximum magnification of the magnification extender that you have.

      Absolutely about the only one on UA-cam who lets us see the actual view. Thank you!

      @@Juscz guys, I no longer have the 95, nor a 2nd EP to run 2, but will see what I can come up with as time allows. Also, if you go to the 2019 and 2020 groundhog compilation vids, I believe the 2019 vid was all on the 95 and the 2020 all or at least partially on the 115...and the 2021 compilation vid to come will all be on the 115 for sure. And all 3yrs were with the same SLR...so you should be able to glean something from that in the short term.

    Jesus that is PHAT! I remember 12 years ago when playing with the ATX 95 wishing they made one over 100mm. Pentax makes a decent one but can't match the bright optics of swarovski.

    Is there much difference between the 95 and 115 objective as I was thinking of getting the ME 1.7 extender which is a lot cheaper than getting a new 115 objective I’m working up to getting a BTX if I can get a trade in for my wife 😁

    what rrs tripod is that? i have the tvc-34L with anvil 30, beefy enough for the 115 btx??

      Tfct-34 mk2...yep, about the most solid single point...but stabilizing with 2pt contact is better if possible...I have and old PSU football camera tripod with big head that I can 2-point it ( 1 at the tripod attachment screw and 2nd contact pulling down bell against front end of head 6" ahead of tripod screw)

    Are you still using this digiscoping equipment ? I have the ATX-95mm and considering the TLS-APO and Nikon D5100 for wildlife videos in Yellowstone. My wife has the BTX bino eyepiece for hers and we really like the ability to have both eyes on the target but.... you are limited to 30x magnification.

    Air quality looked rough. Are you getting a lot of smoke from the fires?

    • @BulletLab
      @BulletLab  3 роки тому +1

      We haven't. We did have some crazy sunrises and sunsets from the smoke being in the upper atmosphere, but that's it. This was just a typical hazy Pennsylvania evening 😆

      True but anything under a mile is childsplay even for chinese scopes. If you're still calling the distance in yards you're doing it wrong. Going out either on a cool day or getting to an elevated position I can easily spot people 11 miles out on a 65mm scope as well as see the individual antennas on a mountain peak 12 miles up. This is the kind of limit pushing where the bigger 115mm lens will really shine and actually show what's it's capable of.

      What are you using to connect your camera to your spotter? I have a Swaro 85mm ATX and I’m about to buy a Sony A7R IV; and I’d like to put the 2 together for photo/film of wildlife on the ranch. Sure could use some advice! Thanks!

    Im considering digiscopping as an alternative to expensive zoom lenses
    & thatswhy doing my research on UA-cam
    Out of 5/6 videos on digiscopping,
    What i saw was shake,Vibranation & disaster image quality...
    😶😶
    Dont know what to do

  • @nicknameunavailable1926

    i guess getting a pic at that distance is better than no pic at all. The image quality sucks though compared to true photograhy prime lens.. just sayin.. I know a nikon 600 mm f4 costs 3-4 times more than the swaro 115 objective

    • @BulletLab
      @BulletLab  Рік тому

      I get that it isn't ideal...but more of an option for those that have the spotter...not "the reason" to go buy the spotter. I am sure a better slr would have had better results as well.

    Nice but seriously lacks contrast. Would have like to linear objects instead of just foliage that has only moderate definition.
