Fun Fact: They actually did have unused sprites for a baby evolution of Doduo. It had three heads and a fluffy body so it looked like baby birds sitting in a nest (my guess is they scrapped the idea because it would be weird having it go from three heads to two heads and back to three again in its evolution).
@@nullpoint3346 What? Hydreigon starts with one head, goes to two, and ends with three... Did you not realize that Hydreigon's "hands" are actually two tiny heads???
Baby Pokemon are a HUGE wasted potential. The only practical purpose they serve is to make filling out the Pokedex more tedious most of the time... But just IMAGINE the possibilities! Baby Evolutions would be the _perfect_ way to introduce unique split-evolutions. Its a baby, so naturally, how you raise them determines what they become as an adult. It would reward players with cool new forms for going out of their way to hatch and raise Baby Pokemon (we even see an example of this with Tyrogue, as well as Mime Jr. being able to evolve into both Mr. Mime and its regional variant). It would also be really cool if Egg Moves were required for some of these evolutions. Here are some ideas I could think of: - A Fighting/Normal type evolution for Munchlax called "Swolax." - A Ghost/Normal type evolution for Munchlax called "Curselax" (yes, named after the competitive moveset), could evolve if Munchlax knows the move Curse. - A Steel/Electric type evolution for Pichu (Just imagine a fully evolve Raichu with a blade for a tail instead of a lightning bolt). - An Electric/Fairy type evolution for Pichu that evolves when it knows Disarming Voice. - Some kind of alternate evolution of Azurill (which would be a lot more fitting given the fact that its a normal type instead of a water type). Maybe a land-dwelling version? - A Grass/Fairy evolution of Budew, with more pastel colored roses. - A Bonsly that evolves into a REAL Grass type. - Riolu evolving into a Dark/Fighting version of Lucario, with the ability Mega Launcher, with a less noble and much _darker_ fighting style. - Mantyke could evolve into a Water/Electric type that's a sting ray instead of a manta ray (maybe it could evolve if you have a Tynamo in your party instead of a Remoraid XD). Baby Pokemon would also be great for allowing access to pretty strong Pokemon earlier on in a run without it being unbalanced. If they ever made a Pokemon Legends: Necrozma I would love to see pre-evolutions for the so-called "common" Ultra Beasts. Imagine a Baby Evolution of Nihilego called "Nihilil." :3 In general, I think a majority of the first-stage Pokemon should be turned into Baby Pokemon. There's no reason Pokemon like Ralts or Bounsweet shouldn't be considered a Baby Evolution... That small child should NOT be able to breed. 🤮
I adore this concept! I’m picturing a bonsly adapting to moss somehow (maybe by grouping up with a grass type) and becoming a new rock/grass evolution - I think the only pokemon of those types currently are lileep/cradily and one of ogerpon’s forms.
I agree with you on the “a lot more firssst-ssstagesss should be baby” point. For example, nidoran-female. Yeah that’sss right, get outta here Nidoking, you can’t touch the child no more.
I recently played around with Copilot and managed to create an Electric/Fairy Pikachu. Pretty much think of a white colored Pikachu with Orange cheek pouches and tail.
Which on the one hand is great for getting them quickly. But on the other hand, it's infuriating because if you want to breed those pokemon for perfect stats, you now have to evolve the baby before moving on
Nah, they're too diffrent, always have been. I'd still like a baby miltank, but I find it unlikely since we've already seen baby miltank in the anime and it's not it's separate pokemon.
Baby pokemon should be a way of making single stage pokemon able to be obtained earlier without skewing progression. Duraludon needs one similar to magikarp to balance it out. It’s too strong to be a base stage that still evolves
I really like Starble! I love when baby Pokémon are slightly different from their first-stage or evolved forms, rather than just a smaller version of it. That being said, Larveat is absolutely adorable. And in terms of overall design, I think I enjoy its silhouette the most!
It would be really cool if smolix was a lot more rugged than normal onix as in its pokedex entry it says that the older the onix the smoother its stones because of erosion
Babies I want: Baby Kangaskhan (it's weird that the egg hatches into a parent and child) Baby could be the Child Pokemon Baby Cubone without skull and bone club Baby cow ... male evolves into Tauros, female evolves into Miltank Baby Doduo with 1 head Baby Vulpix with 1 tail (Pokedex says it's born with a single white tail that splits as it grows... which isn't true)
I LOVE all of these, I don't usually like baby Pokemon but you did a really good job on these ones. I think this is one of your most official batch of Pokemon yet
I've been making my fan region since may and the gimmick of this region is a micro evolution, that makes fully evolved pokemon (except for Clefairy) smaller and more baby-like, and because when they was founded people thought they're a separate species and not temporary forms, they all have names.
Two words: baby Reshiram. She’s a feathered wyvern, and she runs hot. Both of those things result in floof. So the hatchlings would be almost perfectly round balls of fuzz and down! Also: Kyurem raised in captivity by someone who genuinely cares about him should grow up into a black or white morph on its own without fusion or strange magic. Why? Because he never knew the agony of being an orphan.
Heatmor!!! You know who loves Heatmor? Glowl Aka Austin :D Look at these cuties!!! ❤ If you ever do baby forms again, Alomomola would be cool lol! As it seems be based off a Sun fish and omgish Baby sunfish are funky yet cute.
Always in my mind when I wanted to make a baby onix it would be based on soil. All of that, so the evolutionary line is designed for density of minerals. But anyways I like your pre-evo being a little pebble snake.
The onix baby's crest should probably be smaller or nonexistant. Ornamental things like crests are typically something a creature gets when it reaches adolescence and then it grows more as it matures. This isn't really the case in pokemon but at the same time it just makes it look too much like onix being the same shape and proportion relative to the head and all. I would also recommend taking the vents from the heatmor baby's arms and moving that feature to be around the neck, or waist, or something to make it more distinct as well.
I think that if we start getting pre-evolutions again, they need to be handled like Budew in that they’re a means to give players older Pokemon without making the game too easy.
The baby i want to see the most is for Illumise and Volbeat, gloworm to put them together would be fantastic. It could learn either electric or a fire type move when evolving those two (Ele-4-Volbeat, fire-4-illumise) to help them have much needed upgrade. In my mind, the Vobeat evolution has a lightbulb for butt, then illumise has a fiery gas lantern. These three are called Glowormu (the baby) Lantermit - Bug/Fire (Illumises evo) and Blinkermit - Bug/Electric (Volbeats evo) The reason for these details is simply that these three are my own Pokemon regions residents, Sorao region which is based on Finland.
If you do an evolution of Heatmor, I think it would be neat to imply Durant changed it typing to resist fire, only Heatmor followed to keep the type advantage. You could do a fun type combo like Fire Electric (for water Durant) or Water or Fighting (for Rock Durant).
Hey I really enjoy how you format your videos and I see so much potential in them!! I’m making this comment as some friendly intentioned criticism, but please take what I say with a grain of salt as I’m no expert. For all of the fakemon, as adorable as they might be, you missed the crucial aspect of what makes a baby Pokémon a baby. All baby Pokémon have traits that are like real babies!! For example mime jr. is a copying little mime because children, and by extension babies, often copy the behavior of those around them. Toxel, our newest baby Pokémon, follows the stereotype of the diaper-clad waddling whiny toddler. This aspect is missing in all the designs. Additionally barring the solrock and lunetone prevo (which has an interesting idea that I think could be fleshed out by it being a meteor potentially) the baby forms you designed do not look like they evolve into the Pokémon they are based upon, they simply look like shrunken down forms. I hope you take another crack at this design challenge again as baby Pokémon are some of the most unique potential fakemon designs when done correctly.
