Cool! Didn't expect you as one of the reviewers, so that's a pleasant surprise!
Haha me neither
I would like a gimbal that you can have "presets" on the settings for different lenses or packages instead of having to calibrate everytime you change the package.
Thats exactly what i need
The funny thing is that the original Ronin-S has this. You can save 3 presets as modes and configure them in the app. I have one for normal speed, one for very slow pan, and one for infinite roll. I suspect the RS3 has this somewhere in its interface and it just wasn't used or shown here.
@@virgilhawkins5680 Hey Virgil - I think he was specifically commenting on a preset to not have to recalibrate your gimbal every time you set your camera on it
@@Fabianedwd ah, I see now, thanks. That may not be possible the way these gimbals are currently designed. If you don't set the camera plate and all of the axes to the exact same position every time for each package, calibration could end up being a little off. That could damage the motors over time, especially if you're shooting on zoom lenses. At least, that's my understanding.
What you're asking is customed presets like modern cars have for different users. For that you might need an electronic plate, positioning the camera on a given specific place and then let the gimbal move every single parametre (plate included) to the requested user preset. I presume one day we will get there, at the moment I think it'd make the product too expensive but this is just what I think. Maybe Dji is already projecting it 😁
Been running with my a6500 and original RSC for about a year and a half now. What a blessing it is to have a budget friendly gimbal on the market like this. About to upgrade my camera and I’ll still have the funds to purchase this!
Oh wow, You switch back to Canon! Thank you so much for all the lesson over years! You inspired me to make my Moving Picture video of my Hometown the most beautiful place in Vietnam! My channel is very small now but I hope I will grow bigger and make a video with you one day! Good luck on your film! :)
Look at you doing product videos. Tech genius. 😂 but seriously, can’t wait to see the short. And if you got time, bless us with another breakdown of the film. 🙏
Hah big tech guy here!!!
Great Video and review good to hear your take on it . I thought I saw you you in the official DJI video brilliant well done nice work well deserved
Nice! I watched the promo event and was like “is that Danny G..?”
Haha I haven’t seen it yet
I hope I can meet you next time you're here in Van :')
Haha me too!

Hi, cud you help me please? I have sony Fx30 and tamron 17,70 f2.8 does rs3 handles my kit?
rs3 is so good!but I want to know the backpack that appeared at 1:30
To be fair , the RS3 is a replacement of the RSC2 not the RS2. The RS3 PRO is the one replacing the RS2. Weird naming I know.
Can we start up a solo filmmaking group so that people in all cities can connect?
I've just got this gimbal and I can't get the focus motor to work, when I plug it in it flashes red and green then just goes to red, has anyone else experienced this?
YOU WERE IN VANCOUVER?! BRO :(
I sold my last gbal as it was so heavy
hey! do you think this thing could carry a sony a7iv with a 24-70?
I say you filming this video
👍🏾🙏🏾
In Potato Jet’s review of the RS3 he was able to mount and balance a Mavo LF AND a Red DSMC2 brain. So it’s really odd that a C70 won’t balance.
The RS3 that you're reviewing is a replacement for the RSC2 and not the RS2 - hence the lower payload.
RSC2 replaced with RS3
RS2 replaced with RS3PRO
Yeah, it's weird he didn't see that or DJI hadn't told him. That was his "cons". Change of name.
Took almost half the video to finish with that. I got impatient 😐 sorry
DJI seeing what Matti and others see in you… So talented man, thanks for the great storytelling as always. Stoked to see your video. This gimbal looks awesome.
Thanks Tucker!!!
Great review and footage mate !! Even though I don't use gimbals as much as you this will probably my next one :) (or the Pro if I need that one for my bmpcc6k Pro)
Hi Danny, nice review!
The RS3 is the new version of the RSC2, and the RS3 pro for the RS2. Yes, it's really confusing, I know
That was fast 😂 only minutes after the presentation
Even posted it faster on UA-cam than DJI 😂😂
DJI just posted
Haha just posted it when they said I could
Looks like a sick gimbal and not super pricy. Probably gonna end up getting this one. That footage you shot looks sick, can't wait to see the film.
Thanks Blake!!
550$ and can't handle more than 3kgs? Lol, theres way better and cheaper options than this. i think its a total flop, i also can't see many differences in comparison with previous models. Love stabilizers, this is not it.
They removed the image transmitter from the package and no one is talking about it. Sponsored trash reviews
Im a solo filmer and just got my sony FX3 paired with raveneye and RSC2
Is it balanced with a Sony a7iv camera and Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG lens?
Still waiting for a gimbal that handles balancing immediately with its motors. As well as adjusting with a zoom and other lenses.
Haha same
It would need to motorize the placement of the camera forward/backward, and left/right, as you cant overcome the basic physics of center of gravity.
I can say this is the one thing that keeps me from using gimbals. But I tested the RS3 and it was far easier to balance and I'm a newb. A little practice a few times and unlike older gimbals, it has built in sensors to help you figure out what axis's are not well balanced and then once in the tolerances will auto calibrated the last micro-adjustments.
Brilliant yet another awesome DJI product especially designed to keep me broke 🤣
Hahaha
time to upgrade!
I'm looking for anyone in the DJI RS 3 community to help me with this. I purchased this gimble yesterday and I cannot get the app or the login page to work. I've entered all the information correctly (8 times). Then I got my wife, whose much more tech savvy, to try and she couldn't create an account either.
Here's my question. Can I use this gimble without the app? I'm down to my last 2 of the 5 tries without the app.
I appreciate any help or knowledge you'd like to share.
Seriously
A Newbie.
🙄
This was such a rad project Danny! Super grateful for the chance to work with you on this one. It was such a fun time hanging in Vancouver. Thanks again for having me out!
Just recently got one of these for my birthday, super excited to try it out. Thanks for the detailed review, great insight before breaking into it and putting it to work!
Can you please suggest me which gimbal is best for lumix S1 (24-105 & 50mm). I am confused between dji's RSC- 2, RS2 and RS3.
I'm just waiting on the day when self-balancing gimbals become mainstream. I can't see there being that much of an upgrade until it's a thing.
For supersmooth mode, did you feel any vibration on the gimbal?
I'm experiencing the weird vibrations and light crackling noise too on my brand new RS3
This is such a great video and motivated me to get the RS3 thanks 🙏🏻
The music in this is called “can you feel the sunshine” by UTAH
does this shoot vertically?
Can’t seem to find info if the RS3 have active track? I have a Sony a6600 and hoping to slap it on the RS3 onto a tripod to be to make more cinematic footage without a cameraman.
It seems like the RS3 is essentially the follow up to the RSC 2 in size and features, while RS3 Pro is really the follow up to the RS 2. They just changed the naming to up the appeal of the smaller one.
Yeah, confused why Danny didn't get the memo on this. RSC2 -> RS3, RS2 -> RS3 Pro.
So the rs3 regular one is great for fx3 Sony 24-70 gmi ?? That’s what I have too
Hey Danny, I don’t work with DJI but from I read, I think the RS3 really is an upgrade from the RSC2, which shares the same max payload of 3kg. The now RS3 Pro is the direct replacement of the RS2. Just saying ;)
Danny what autofocus mode are you using most of the time ? Ex: Zone / Spot / Wide
I’m seriously looking at the RS 3, but I am a little worried about the payload. My canon R5 combined with my sigma 105 mm F1.4 comes in at 5.6 pounds, the weight rating is listed as 6.6 pounds. That’s not a lot of headroom.
Def go with the RS3 "PRO" with the higher payload (the Pro is made for larger camera packages and heavier cine lenses). The Sigma 105mm 1.4 is gonna be massively front heavy setup let alone heavy.
@@justinavila1320 Thanks!
Do you think the RS3 pro would also work for SMALLER cameras?
With the R6 and EF-L lenses with eos adapt. Will the rs3 work? Better to get rs2 ?
Thats really great !
I used to Ronin sc and now have weebill s..
But this makes me think again!
Thanks!!
Footage looks incredible Danny
Thanks Chris!!
I'm not changing cos it's like going backwards instead of forward 😒😒... While will I change to a 3kg weight gimbal when I have a 4.5kg gimbal . While will I pay extra for just a bigger screen and auto lock ..
Coming back to downside - it is like that because RS# is equivalent of RSC2 and RS3 PRO is equivalent of RS2 so... you have wrong gimbal for your requirements ;-)
Dude you are slow, they just renamed the RS2 to the RS3 Pro. The renamed the RSC2 to the RS3. So if you want to compare you would have compared to the pro. Those are the carbon fiber models. 😂🤣😂 Thanks for making me laugh. This one is for compact cameras.
this man runs a camera on a gimbal WHILE RIDING HIS ONE WHEEL. If this isn't commitment to his craft i dont know what it is. Certainly not insanity because what could go wrong?
Many are interested in a tough test with maximum load like RED and Sigma cinema lens .Can You make this test this ronin with heavy equipment (with maximum payload 10 pounds) ?
You will be the only single heavy tester on UA-cam and got more money .
Do you think DJI will make a self adjust/balance feature on the next generation of gimbal? 😁😁😁
Just attach the camera then the gimbal will do the self balancing and adjusting.
I notice you have both canon and Sony cams, is it expensive to have both? I’m think to get a fx3 for video along side my R6mk2 for photos
Thanks for covering this, and congrats on the collab! Biggest concern was handling bigger lenses (e.g. 24-70mm f/2.8) with mirrorless bodies and smoothness, so this answered all my questions. Seems like a really solid upgrade from the RSC2.
It barely has any differences from the RSC2.
My rsc2 balanced my a7siii with a 24 to 70mm sigma easily. So this should do it too
I'm using rsc2 with eos r + adapter + ef24-70 f2.8 and it works :)
@@amohammed5181 Can you do zoom in and out without rebalancing with the rsc2?
@Lance Razon you can if you balance the gimbal with the lense midway e.g. at 35mm. That will allow you movement.
It’s crazy, everytime I balance this the horizontal drifts, anyone having this problem? Making this useless and I spent so much money on it :(
5:15 Don't worry Danny. These ARE high quality films.
Why do manufacturers do this though? They will upgrade a gadget and take out what completely worked in the previous version. Like the ability to fit bigger cameras thing with the S2, why would they change that instead of just adding on to it?
I would have thought DJI would let you know the RS3 was never meant to replace the RS2, but replace the RSC2 which has all of those same limitations. RS3 Pro is replacing the RS2. DJI pretty wack when they start changing names, to be fair. Footage looks awesome Danny!
Danny! Do you think I’d be ok with my Sony a7iii and the g master 24-70??
can this gimbal support the r5 + canon rf 28-70 f2 lens which is a beast of a lens?
Danny, I have the rsc2. Amazing kit. I shoot portrait mode a lot. Can this do it? Or would I need to get a vertical mount? Also, I've never purchased the active track but I want the camera to be focused on the subject. Do I need that or can this do it now without it? I don't need all the follow focus stuff.
What brand is your yellow backpack? Thanks and amazing work 👍
So awesome seeing you in the official dji release video!!! ☺️ and great review btw👍🏻😎
I shoot Canon RP with the 24-70 lens and it refuses to balance on the rs3
I received the DJI RS3 today but will be returning it. The mechanism for securing the battery grip is very wobbly (even in the maximum position). I thought DJI had such great build quality? Disappointing.
On the other hand, you need more than one example before you discredit the manufacturers as a whole. If someone else make the same complaint or you get a second one with that issues, they you have a valid claim.
are you from Canada? If not how did you get a onewheel through the airport? lol
where did you find those referrence image that you use on milanote danny? so curious tho! pleaseeee...
RS3 is not the new version of RS 2 how did you not get that simple fact right?
2min into the film and places the order lol. Super good and helpful Danny!
Love you
pretty cool presentation with some cool shoots my brother ... nice one. support from josh connect media. a true fan of dji. which one would you suggest i get ? i am into motorcycle and scooters and trying to go into car reviews now. i got all the generations of osmo gimbals but trying to go into the ronins ...
Can you tell us which backpack you used (the beige one)?
Whats the name of the camera and the lense that was on your demonstrating gimbal
AH DANG! Wish I knew you were in Vancouver!!!
whats the best camera+lens i can get for less than $1500 (~around). My main goal is photography (close ups, portraits at the beach etc)
Step One: is to chose your ecosystem (Panasonic, Sony, Canon, etc.) Step Two: is to determine full frame or crop. You can get a beginner kit for $1500, but for portraits you'd need a 50mm or 85mm. So Step Three is to chose your lens. The 85mm would probably cost $1200, but you could get a decent 50mm for under $500. Then you can ask the question.
Bro said he’s a noodle like we don’t know he’s secretly jacked 😏
Water shots were crazy
When you say warp stabilizer, are you using the WS in premiere pro or DaVinci? I was disappointed when I saw a lot of jitter even with the IS on using the DJI RS3…
Then again…I was on-foot, not a board or a car
btw rs2 and rs3 cannot be compred. rs2 and rs3 pro are the ones to be compared
Doesn't connect with Z9 with Bluetooth
rs3 is a upgrade for rsc 2, so don't compare with rs 2
I'm new to gimbals. I'm a welder, cyclist, mechanic -- I do all kinds of stuff. I was looking at the Weebill 3 and the RS 3. for a novice who wants to start filming his work and for doing city walk thrus with a Canon 80D, what one would you recommend?
Can this carry sony NX3 weight?
As a C70 shooter that leaves me out. Thanks for that info! Looks like RS3 Pro can support C70 & FX6 - has a 10lb payload.
на видео при первом включение сразу горизонт завалило
Can't even open my dji app anymore.
Could you see yourself or anyone that sees this getting a RS3 pro over this version for even a smaller camera set up? I have a sony a6300 and will upgrade to a full frame soon enough but dont know if I would prefer the pro or not. I do run a 18-105mm sometimes, which is heavy as well. I mainly do wedding but also do stuff with friends.
Hi Danny, I live in Vancouver and have a RS 3 on order. Will it handle a 24 to 70 active zoom, or do you have to rebalance?
You need to rebalance
I have a RS2 That I've only used twice and owned almost a year and a half now.. still basically new
Still only carries ten pounds. Needs to carry more weight if its to get my money.
First, that's the RS3 Pro. And second, if you can hold a 10lb rig, you're one jacked mofo. That's a pro setup, and you won't be holding it for long.
The rs3 handles fx3 no problem?
1st❤️
Is that the R with the 24-105?
Hello there!
So from what I understand, a Sony A7IV with a 24-70mm should be more than okay to balance and manage, right? Even while filming cars (so being out of the trunk)?
Does the a7iv fit on this gimbal
Hello! What about active track? Do you still need the raven to use that mode? Great review btw!
Thanks for the video mate! How does the RS3 perform with the FX3 + ZOOM lense such Tamron 35-150? Thanks!
Excellent review. Concise and to the point. Probably going to pick this up. Thank you.
Will it handle a sigma 24-70mm lens
