Mexico became a victim of its own success (from a foreigners perspective) during the Pandemic because it was one of the few places to travel easily and relatively cheaply. People fell in love with Mexico City, Playa Del Carmen, Guadalajara, etc. and all these places have become noticeably more expensive.

The problem is no one can simply enjoy the benefits of hidden gems instead of running their mouth and capitalizing on exploiting the struggling people there.
Once people start flocking in droves, everything is going up.
If so many people weren't willing to pay, would not have any other options but to price for what they can get.
Costa Rica,Bali, same crap. I don't want to move to another country to be around Americans.
