I'm replacing my whole steering system, and this was a good tutorial on the pitman arm, thanks!

My pitman arm sure didn't come off that easy, lol Thanks for all of your videos!!

That's probably the easiest one I've ever had. I figured since I was filming, it would be a bear to get off. Sure surprised me.

Thanks for your video. I have to replace all the steering parts on my wife's 86 C1500 this week. Tie rod ends, inner and outer, idler arm, and pitman arm.

Man these would’ve been nice when I did all those same components couple months ago 😂. Great explanation and work!

Mine old one looked like it was on the splines further than the new one , much like how yours looks. It's tight tight so hopefully no issues...

@@SquarebodyStuff hope so. Just replaced everything in the front steering and suspension, need an alignment next. Just got new tires up front. Got to get more for the rear. These dually trucks are expensive 😭

@@alexvelez2141 Trust me I know, I have two of them, well three if you count when I put duallys on Squeaky for burnout competitions.

Make sure to replace the swaybar bushings as well.

They're not too old. I put poly bushings in when I installed the heavy 1 ton sway bar

Great video Chad. DO you know the torque spec for the pitman arm bolt to steering box?

Thanks, the manuals say 180 ftlbs. I usually give it several ugga duggas with the impact.🤣🤣🤣

It looks like the new arm only went on a fraction of the distance of the old arm . Is that normal ? I'm having the same problem with an arm I'm replacing on a Land Rover Defender .

It went on about the same. There may be a little difference in the forgings. As long as the nut threads on fully engaged, I wouldn't worry about it.
