Ilm ul Ishtiqaq is the science of deriving different words on certain word structures from the stem word.
The derivatives can be verbal or nominal.
Derived nouns are of various types:
1) Ism Faa'il - Active Participle
2) Ism Maf'ool - Passive Participle
3) Ism Dharf - Noun of place/time
4) Ism Aalah - Noun of Instrument
5) Ism Sifah - Noun of Attribute
6) Ism Tafdeel - Elative form
7) Ism Muabalagha - Emphatic form
