Please don't say "brave" when speaking about disabled people. It gets super old and gets irritating. It's best to barely acknowledge it, then just move on. Most of us really don't like to talk about it a lot since it already takes up so much of our lives.
"People on the streets are rude" But, strangers won't know you have TS so they're gonna get mad hearing "F**k you". But, if they're still rude after they know you have TS, then that's terrible.
Imagine living life as usual then having the urge one day to let out a sound which never ended. I feel for these cool people. Tourettes happens to cool people.
People please respect people with tourette syndrome or a tic disorder these conditions really rip our life away and it's very hard to live life not knowing what we're going to say not knowing what we're going to do, we can't help that we hit people swear at people punch people. I've punched a few strangers or suddenly whacked them and turns out they didn't care at all. They just laughed at me and go. What are you doing? And I apologize and explain what my condition is and they explain to me. They know people or some member in their family has Tourettes or a tic disorder and it's very encouraging and very satisfying. So please respect us. This condition is horrible. We cannot help what we say or do If we don't understand this condition THAT'S COMPLETELY FINE but please educate yourself or ask us questions. We be happy to educate but we hate the criticism and ableism towards us. That's something we don't appreciate
So far I’ve seen nothing but positive comments on this forum. Sorry about your experiences and the negativity that is shown towards you out of pure ignorance!
She handles herself very well!!! She’s someone who’s learned how to deal with her disorder which probably wasn’t nowhere near easy in the beginning but she seems cool and smart! I’d hang out with her any day and her Tourette’s wouldn’t bother me at all!
For some people it’s the things they’re afraid of saying. Like “the worst thing I could say to my date is that she’s boring because that’s very offensive” and then that anxiety manifests as a tic saying “you’re boring!”
Are you being weird funny? I don’t get the hint of sarcasm so I know that’s not it 😂😂😂 she has a disorder as it’s plastered throughout the title as well as her saying she has Tourette’s and explaining her condition. Yelling out absurdities is just one part of the disorder, it’s not like she meant it, she can’t help it 🤷🏽♀️😒🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
It took a brain doctor to diagnose me wit Tourette's as soons as I entered the room he said ya this ain't anxiety this is a straight up severe complicated complex case of Tourettes for 10 plus years. I was on undiagnosed by other doctors They told me I was faking in to go home and from there the tics kept coming. The tic attacks kept coming. My dad was stumped and didn't know what to do so I'm very thankful for my brain doctor finally giving us an answer after all these years and after all these doctors denied me. My brain doctor checks on me all the time
I still don’t get how this disorder can go undiagnosed. Is it that the doctors don’t know about Tourettes or they can’t recognise a tic when they see one? Even you yourself? Had you never heard of Tourettes before? My son has tics, but has been incorrectly diagnosed with Tourettes. I knew they were tics (hand clapping, hitting his head) but they only happen when he is frustrated or over excited, so definitely not Tourettes.
It’s sad you had to endure that. Nowadays it can be quite difficult to diagnose any disorders especially Tourette’s when you have half of this generation faking disorders all the time on TikTok and instagram for views, likes, attention and money 🤷🏽♀️ They failed you all those years hopefully you’re doing much better ❤
Sorry if it's offensive. Since the movement and words are involuntary. If someone has those thoughts that shouldn't be said. Do they come out when you don't want you or you can control that. Sorry again
Any of these blind dates things on this channel shouldn't be deal breakers, but the person dating them should be told ahead just so they aren't shocked. That is all.
LOL! I feel so awful for laughing. I feel bad for her. Hopefully she can find someone who is willing to support and understand and be patient with her as much as possible.
I would really like to know what the other woman’s diagnosis is. I have a friend with the same issues (shaky voice and hands). She has been to numerous doctors and still doesn’t have a diagnosis.
I had a date with a man who has very severe tourette. He had not told me before. I could not get along with it and even felt guilty. But this was not the only reason. He had a very bad character as well.
Tourette needs British humour... I watched some British videos, everyone was laughing even the doctors, and no drama. The Tourette girl was more relax than the other girl so 🤷♀️
i have/had tourettes also but not vocally. it's definitely been a topic of conversation with dates in the past, especially during stressful times of life like when my father passed away. but a good indicator of someones character on how they react. grateful for the life experience although it has been challenging and defeating at times
2:17 The other girl's face 😐 Monica seems like a sweet girl. I remember seeing a girl who had brain surgery to treat her Tourettes. She was one of the few where she regressed after showing improvement.
