He could sing the phone book and it would still be phenomenal.

He was born in October of '89 and says, "Ah the 80's, the best three months of my life"😂😂 In saying that, I think he recaptures the whole vibe and nostalgia of that decade in such a refreshing way and dare I say it... He performed this beautifully, and the emotion is quite prevalent. Dan also performed "An American Trilogy", dedicated to his father only 5 days after he passed away. It is heartbreaking as you see him get thru this song. I consider myself to be a fairly tough guy, but my eyes welled up during that performance, knowing that his father had just passed.

I wasn't familiar with The Witcher books, games, nor the Netflix series when I heard Dan's version of this song, so I had to pull up originals & also clips for vocal & character references to fully appreciate what Dan did with his covers of these songs. They're amazing just on their own merit, but he definitely took these bard songs to a whole other level. What cracked me up with this particular song was seeing an interview with Joey Batey, who played Jaskier & wrote/sang this song, and hearing him say he actually hated this song. I thought, "Well, you ought to hear what Dan's done to it then & maybe you'd love it like we do." 😂 If I recall correctly, Dan's Witcher covers have more views than the originals... that speaks volumes in itself. Check out his cover of "Burn Butcher Burn" & hold onto your hats. Lol.
