Easiest Song On Drums | First Drum Lesson | "Sugar" Drum Lesson
There's nothing like being a beginner drummer and learning your first song. In this beginner drum lesson I break down what I consider to be one of the easiest songs on the drums, "Sugar" by Maroon 5. It's a fantastic first drum lesson to help you master your first song on the drums as a beginner drummer.

@Stephen Taylor has anyone told you that you reminded them of the actor Ryan Reynolds?
This is really helpful as beginner drummer, started a month ago, so I'll check it out
Awesome breakdown! I love how accessible you make the learning process!
Will be signing up for your awesome drum lessons a soon a possible 😊
Those "Pop up Video" style fun facts are awesome!
Snare sounds beautiful
Awesome breakdown!
Very good music song playing drummer. 👍
You should do a drum set tour, because that kit and those cymbals are beautiful. I would love to hear about the size of drum, size of cymbals, and the mics and gear you use
I love all these popular grooves, great to pick up & play ... it makes me think though, is there a drum equivelent of "No Stairway!" ... is there an intro, beat or fill that will get you kicked out of the music shop if you sat down & played it?
My daughter went to a local college to have a tour of their music offering for post high school, there was a lovely set of drums in their studio and the guy asked if she played drums, "No ... but Dad does" ... and I regret not having the confidence to sit down and smash something out :-(
Lol the fill from in the air tonight
I don’t have a kit, I just work on rudiments on a practice pad. But do you have any tips on grip? I mostly use the American match grip and know where the ideal fulcrum point on my sticks are. My problem is that the sticks will eventually start slipping one way or the other in the middle of a rudiment and I start getting less efficient rebound, and tightening my grip just makes my hands and forearms tense up at faster tempos. Is there something I should be doing differently from a technical standpoint, or is it as simple as adding something like some athletic tape to the stick to improve the grip?
Now I want a system of a down tutorial
Haha me too, and I can't remember exactly how the drums go right now, but I imagine their "sugar" will be a bit more difficult
Nice 👍
Sorry for drifting off topic but can I please ask how your walls are finished? I’d like to try to replicate!👌🏻🤓
do the one by David Sanborn
Can you play some dimmu borgir the track sympozium
in demo at 6:38 : hihat not raised, as opposed to step #3 at 3:18 (4:12 actually) . Is that because final demo didn;t reach chorus?
Just started to learn at 53. Any tips on figuring out why with doing anything off " the beat" my foot feels like it's nailed to the floor. Can't seem to get the 4th measure at a descent tempo.
It's because modern western music is focused on the downbeat. If you had been raised in a different culture...Jamaica for instance...and been exposed to the upbeat more, it would feel more natural. So just slow it down and be patient with it. Not only is it a new rhythm, it's one you're not accustomed to hearing as often
Thought it was soad😂😂
Same 😂😂
Eye of The Tiger
I can play that!
Where did you get that T-Shirt?
