Yesterday, I turned on my brand new 34" ultrawide monitor along with my rog2070super to be presented with a huge colour strip malfunction right through the center of the screen. After a slight heart attack and a few tests it turns out it wasn't my monitor or GPU, but the display cable. The relief you get from a problem being the cheapest and hassle free solution was satisfying.
My computer started randomly shutting down so i was panicking that it might be a bad PSU but i found out it was just a bad power button lol so i got so relieved

The first thing I always asked was "what does it says on the printer screen?" And most of the answer I get were "oh, the screen is off, maybe the printer is off!”. This was how I checked if the printer was on or off without asking them directly, so they wouldn't feel offended in case the printer was on.

i know the pains of early PC building, I didn't use enough thermal paste, only 1 tube and forgot to lube the RAM and ATX power. The whole time I wasn't wearing a anti static bracelet and a static show reverberated throughout the house. This all could have been avoided if I had a Swiss Army Knife.

This brought me back to when I built my current rig. I went midrange on the budget, cutting corners on certain things (that I kinda regret now), but I got everything installed, cable-managed, was excited to turn it on, hit the power switch...nothing. You talk about my heart dropping like a rock. I checked to make sure all the cables were seated, everything was clipped in, and so on, but no power. I started to spiral. Doubts flooded my mind. Was I really that bad at building a computer? Did I get a DOA PSU or MoBo? Was I cursed to use a 5 year old gaming rig that couldn't even play Borderlands 3 on low at 30 FP- Oh hey, I plugged the front panel power switch into the wrong header! Swap that, and...Neat, booted up no problem, and there's POST!
Having served myself with two combat tours myself this is kind of cool. Gaming helps me relieve some of my ptsd stresses. I am hoping at some point to do a micro atx build. Once this Covid kicks the curve. Thanks for helping Joey !

Probably a short somewhere on the PCB of the card. I got a 580 off of eBay that was untested and wouldn't turn on. Turns out, some solder was shorting out a mosfet so I used a heat gun to remove it. The card worked fine once it was removed but the surrounding area is pretty messy as I didn't know how to use it properly. It could just be the cooler or something but at least you could get it replaced.

You aren't. :D The strip and "Untill it's running Doom" just about made my freaking MONTH. Doom is often touted as the "Evil Hello World"; a reference to how it runs basically anywhere and everywhere. Using that, in this context, just made ALL the sense in the world and I love it.

Can actually confirm that the electric duster he used is a very good thing to have. Used it several times dusting family member's PCs and it makes quick work of any dust inside a case.
I like the way you were able to bring the power supply unit cable from the back to the front plugging it into the motherboard. I had trouble doing that with my power supply so I rang it through the front. I would like to share pictures, if possible to help organize the wires.
Dude seriously. It's one thing to get sent something so you can review/promote it. But when you're like "Hey, I'm making a computer for my friend, want to send me the parts for free? Oh yikes, this is embarrassing, this free 2060 is great for the theme of the video but it's kind of shit for gaming, can you send me a better free GPU?" and then later "Hey the good free GPU you sent died, can you give me another one for free?" I wish I had that kind of power.

I also slapped in a graphics card for a friend's pc that stopped booting because the graphics card died. I took an identical card from my stock to replace it. Did that out of pocket because I felt bad that it was mostly my idea for her to use that graphics card to raise her performance level.

Probably a short somewhere on the PCB of the card. I got a 580 off of eBay that was untested and wouldn't turn on. Turns out, some solder was shorting out a mosfet so I used a heat gun to remove it. The card worked fine once it was removed but the surrounding area is pretty messy as I didn't know how to use it properly. It could just be the cooler or something but at least you could get it replaced.

I'm not under the illusion that it's an excellent card, but I do like it, and seeing it in an ad on your channel makes me feel a tad better about my choice (and my budget).

To his credit the power strip was blinking which for some brands means that it tripped the circuit and needed a reset.

Doom is often touted as the "Evil Hello World"; a reference to how it runs basically anywhere and everywhere. Using that, in this context, just made ALL the sense in the world and I love it.

Can actually confirm that the electric duster he used is a very good thing to have. Used it several times dusting family member's PCs and it makes quick work of any dust inside a case.

I like the way you were able to bring the power supply unit cable from the back to the front plugging it into the motherboard. I had trouble doing that with my power supply so I rang it through the front. I would like to share pictures, if possible to help organize the wires.

Oh yikes, this is embarrassing, this free 2060 is great for the theme of the video but it's kind of shit for gaming, can you send me a better free GPU?" and then later "Hey the good free GPU you sent died, can you give me another one for free?"

I also slapped in a graphics card for a friend's pc that stopped booting because the graphics card died. I took an identical card from my stock to replace it. Did that out of pocket because I felt bad that it was mostly my idea for her to use that graphics card to raise her performance level.
