The snap ring (circlip) that retains the piston is a legend in it's own lifetime. Very very difficult to get out with circlip pliers even if you have the right ones. A pick is probably the only answer and even then it wasn't easy.

I know this is a old comment but yeah you are spot on,i am rebuilding a bike right now and every single thing on this bike is either frozen, welded shut, glued together etc, i have restored bikes before and several cars, not sure what it is about bikes that do this, must be the materials they use, magnesium and aluminum or what not, cars dont do that, yeah there's a few fasteners that will give you hell but nothing like a bike.

Excellent video man, thank you so much for it,i think you or someone else had a video where they said they honed the master cylinder, maybe they meant cleaning it real good inside with a wire brush, not many option for a hone that small out there plus the hone takes material off, what did you guys do to clean yours out?

THE PISTON IN MY CALIPER WILL NOT PUSH OUT WHEN I USE THE SAME STRATERGY YOU USE. THEN I TRIED COMPRESSED AIR AND THAT DID NOT WORK. I AM OUT OF WAYS TO GET IT OUT. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD HELP THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Nice - I picked up a 78 CB400T last summer and I'll be picking the project back up. Doing a single carb conversion to the bike as I hate the stock carbs and mine were pretty messed up when I bought it. Have you ever done a single carb conversion to any of these smaller hondas?

My daughter just picked up the same bike as you. Have you any after action for your single-carb conversion? Would enjoy hearing some of your insights on your project.

@@randallsimmons391 it's really simple. Get a 32+ mm carb ( I like mikuni) and do it yourself or have a friend weld or braze two elbows and a straight tube with a bend toward whatever side you choose.
Get an extra carb boot online and slap it all together. Much easier than balancing two carbs and better performance.

@@toddrocks Thanks for the quick reply. Definitely will have to give that some consideration. Agreed that tuning one is preferable to two.

Hi from Uk, I have cleaned as directed and looking good and ready to re-assemble. I have a question -
I can see two small holes in base of the reservoir and one goes clean straight through to the barrel. I assume the second one goes straight through like the first. Is that correct as mine stops after about 1.5mm which may be corrosion build up. Can you confirm before I drill it out
