Thanks so so much dear.... my husband tinkered with the electronics... bought soldering tools etc... after 2 days he said it's kaput....l put a capful of white vinegar and left it overnight....IT WORKED !!!!... so pleased.. bless you for making this helpful video... I've even returned one that stopped working.. now l know what to do thanks to you. Much thanks. 🤗🤗🤗🥰
Thank you for this! For everyone asking if it has to be vinegar, I used Mrs. Meyer's All Purpose cleaner & just did a quick clean without even letting it sit & it worked instantly! I've been fighting with this thing for 3 weeks, I'm so happy rn!
OMG THANK YOU…. most hacks on youtube don’t work, and this one did!! i just bought a brand new diffuser and it wouldn’t work and this solved it!! i can’t thank you enough omg
I just did with mines it works thank you so much I was about to buy another one because I was having the same issues as in your video. Your video save me
Thank you so much for this….it totally works! I’ve been trying for days to get mine to work. 😃 It also works with apple cider vinegar too…all I had in the house at the time! 😅
Mine wouldn’t even bubble but I added the 1/2 & 1/2 white vinegar and water mixture and let it sit while I got ready for bed for a few hours. It’s misting now 🥹 thank you! 💕
Yes! It's a doTERRA lotus diffuser. I really like it a lot! However I think they have a newer style now, I don't think they make it like this one anymore 😖 Which is sad because it's beautiful! ♥️
Ha! I have the same diffuser, from a thrift store! $4! It’s actually from puzhen, & is a $100 diffuser! Going to go clean mine, as it stopped working, too!
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but the lids definitely needs to be on for the mist to come out. If it's damaged or not sitting flush against the diffuser, that could affect it. Make sure it's clean, and the area it sits on, and not warped or cracked.
I tried the vinegar and water and let it sit for 15 min.per watching another video.I am going to start over and let it sit longer hoping it will clean my diffuser.
My parents have used one for awhile. and now when you turn it on, it works for about 1 minute and then shut's itself off automatically. I did the half and half water and vinegar mixture but there is no change. maybe i just need to buy a new one......
Oh no, I'm so sorry! Because the diffuser is turning off on its own, I don't think this fix will help it - the water and vinegar will help the diffuser perform better, but this seems like more of an electrical issue. Perhaps the timer is not working and turning it off prematurely. If you're handy at all you could try taking it apart and bypassing the timers, but if that's not something you want to get into I'd just say buy a new one 😉
I have many and one acts like that but it was cheap I don't mind that is not always going off, I keep it in the kitchen so sometimes I wonder if it's the plug
Mine began doing that. It is a diffuser love. If I over fill it it does that and reducing water helped. I wonder it it is the remote. I’ll try vinegar first and go from there. Any more suggestions?
Hello!, how many days? a half day? and power off right?..... i try to follow the step, but i dont know is in power on or off. And the other thing is, half and half, half water and half vinegar to make a full. Appreciate it ur help. Thanks
I let mine soak for about a day with the power off. I would occasionally turn it on for a second to kind of "stir" things up, but never leave it on. And yes half water and half vinegar 😊 it can be all the way full or just mostly full, doesn't need to be exact.
Hello; This is a great idea! So I did this exactly like you did. But mine still don''t work:( Do you have any other ideas? also like your haircut, so cute:)
Probably. I used white vinegar because it's what I have and typically is used for cleaning. I believe it's also stronger. But whatever you have will probably be fine. Balsamic might stain though, so if you have that one I'd probably not use it.
@@katdestaercke1973 If you happen to have another plug that would fit it, like from some other electronic thing in your home, that would be one way to test the plug. Sometimes water gets down inside them, so if it just needs to dry out that might help it. I'm not really an electrician, but if it turned out to be something inside the diffuser I might try taking it apart to look at the wires and stuff, but if you're not comfortable with that it's probably worth your time just to buy a new one. 🤷♀️ Good luck to you! ❤️
I'm so sorry. If there's no power to the diffuser at all, I would guess some sort of electrical issue - water got inside, a wire broke somewhere, etc. It would have to take some tinkering to figure it out.
Oh no! I'm so sorry. From the sounds of it, the diffuser may have developed a leak, and the water may have created a short in the electrical circuits. Is it still within the time frame for returns? If so I'd try to exchange it, that shouldn't happen to a new diffuser. Good luck!
I just bought a diffuser off of Poshmark that claimed to be brand new but when i went to use it, all it does is acts like a fountain and spits water out. Idk what to do. I can’t seem to find the brand anywhere online
It sounds like what mine does when I don't have the little cover put on it. Or it could be broken, but I'm not sure this method would help with that. If you can't return it to the buyer, I know Poshmark can help with claims, especially if the seller was dishonest about the condition of the item.
JenMarQuin thanks for the reply. Idk what the heck it’s doing. I tried your cleaning method being the seller completely lied and said it was brand new when it wasn’t. I did notice though that it is producing some smoke but only when i tilt the machine. I don’t know, it’s SO weird!! Maybe you’ve heard of the brand before - Goldessence Aromas Zen Aromatherapy Diffuser. I can ONLY find this brand/product sold as second hand i.e. eBay, Amazon, etc and can’t find a company #. I have another diffuser but smaller and i noticed that the vent is on the inside compared to this new one that has the vent more on the outside. I don’t know if this makes a difference or not but one is working and ones not 😆 let me know if there’s anything else i can try and do to fix this. PS i LOVE your diffuser!!!
@@jessii_d wow it sounds like something odd is going on. I'm not familiar with that brand, unfortunately. The most I can suggest is basic troubleshooting - make sure it had all the parts, like if it has a little lid thing like mine in the video - those are very important, (but not all diffusers use that method so it's only an issue if it's a missing part). Also be sure the water level is correct - if it isn't they don't work correctly. Thorough cleaning can often help, but if it's not dirty your plugged up it won't make a difference. If you're following all the instructions and you know for sure it's clean, all the pieces are there, the water level is correct, then there's probably something wrong with the diffuser. If that's the case and I were in your situation, I would try to return it or place a claim on the item. I think you can do that through Poshmark? Although if you've already accepted the item maybe not? 🤔
JenMarQuin yeah well that’s the thing. I contacted the seller and told her that the adapter was missing, asked if she finds it if she can send it my way and then told her i used my iPhone adapter and the unit isn’t working correctly, she went and blocked me. Being she listed it as brand new and she sent an offer with free shipping, i wanted to be respectful and accept the order same day. I kick myself now for going about my day instead of opening it and testing it first but i assumed it was brand new. In the parts where water goes, i spotted mold. I’m thinking this heartless woman used it and the second it didn’t work correctly, she put it right back in the packaging and listed it for sale. And being i can’t find replacement parts for it or even a company phone #, if i can’t get it to work then i guess I’m beat that money.
I don't see why not. I really don't think it would hurt anything to try either of those. I'd start with the red vinegar first and see how that does. 😊 Unless all you have is bleach. The reservoir is "sealed" so you won't get anything down inside the electronics or anything like that.
What if the diffuser is clean but it STILL won't mist? 🥲 My diffuser was working just fine the other day until my mom cleaned it out and now it won't release mist when I put the top on, but if I take the lid off there's tons of mist. What on earth is going on and how do I fix it? 😔
Idk....it's creating mist but won't come out of the lid? Is there a blockage in the lid or in the air vent on the side? Something somewhere is stopping the air from filtering through.
I just added vinegar and turned it for for a second and it's working already!!!! Thanks for tip!
That's awesome! I'm so glad it could help!!
Wow same lol. I had rinsed it before and scrubbed it but that didn’t help. 2 seconds with vinegar and BAM.
0:18, just got back from the thrift store, got mine for $3 , didn’t even know what is was, but I liked the bamboo canister, now I know, thank you

I just bought one from a thrift store, and will try this fix tomorrow. By the way, your haircut is so beautiful, in my opinion. Thanks for the video!
Agreed. The haircut is great!
I have the same diffuser, had the same problem,,after following your steps,,Viola ,,,,its working. Thank you
Got mine fixed too ! Used the vinegar approach AND sprayed a little canned air in the vented screen on the bottom of mine. Back in business.
What a great idea! I didn't think of cleaning out the vent! Thank you 😊
Thanks for this, I have a doTerra petal diffuser that isn't doing much diffusing at the moment. I'll give this a try.
This video is an absolute life saver. This absolutely works!! Thank you so much 😊

Stoked, thank you for sharing!! What a great fix.
Thank you. I simply wiped the excess oil from the area where the mist is generated and my cheap diffuser is working again :)
Mine is still not working :(
This worked perfectly!! Thank you! I was going to buy a new diffuser
Heck yesss! Saved my life!! thank you thank you 🙏🏼
Thaaaank you.
Tunred my one after months only bubbled.
Put a bit of vinegar sturned it on and works perfect.
Yaaaaay
Yep, worked for me. Poured some 5% vinegar and turned it on for 5 min. Nice and clean now and pumps out mist as new.
I was about to spend my money on a new one! gonna try this out for sure!

Oh yeah!! Mines working now!! Thank you for the tip!!
Amazing! I honestly thought this wouldn’t work and I thought mine was completely stuffed but it worked!!! Genius, thank you so much❤️💝💖

Thanks for the tip. I love Eden's Garden oils too
did you ever find out what brand this diffuser is? i love the look of it and seems to produce well

This is James Barrow that diffuser is Cool

Can I use apple cider vinegar and water?
You can try it, but white vinegar has better cleaning properties, so if the ACV doesn't work give the white vinegar a try next 😊
What happens if the oil defuser doesn't turn on at all? Is it possible that all it needs is to try and clean it?
I doubt it - that sounds more like an electrical issue, connection, or bad plug. It needs to turn on to clean it this way.
