Upcycle a salvaged fence to make DIY under deck storage. This outdoor project was a great way to add some needed storage and organization to our wood deck. With high lumber prices this was a perfect time to use reclaimed wood and it came together nicely. You just install lattice on a deck, but this modern DIY deck skirting looks way better IMHO.

Great outcome! personally I would have sold the timber from your neighbours fence, and with that money buy a brand new house instead!
no doubt!
LOL!!
Ottimo risultato invece, con legno di recupero hai fatto un bel lavoro estetico e funzionale!!! 👍😉
LOL, “the fast boat to banana town”. Great job Brad. You’re gonna have to replay the inspectors dance at his wedding, Ha ha😄
Oh yeah, he's super proud of it 😂😂
@@Fixthisbuildthat He is proud now, when he is 22 he will be hiding under the table.
You should have ask him to help, another life skill😁😊 His dance is awesome!!!
"we just have a lot of junk"
I see like 6 things under there - I think we have different definitions of what "a lot" is
This reclamation should be in the hall of fame of 'trash to treasure' projects! Outstanding!
Yea, I’ve always liked his stuff but this might be my favorite
thanks!
I'm so glad you added the stop to the center gates. The inconsistency was driving my nuts. lol
Great project for some salvaged material. Turned out really nice and gotta love that nail puncher
This was a fantastic, realistic, and practical way to recycle this material with an excellent result. Thanks for the great video!
Looks phenomenal and I appreciate reusing perfectly good lumber 👍🏼and I love that you can use the under deck as storage with the gates
Re-use Re-cycle makes my heart sing!! Fantastic video Brad ! Pistol grip on the hand saw makes for more accurate cut, I only just learned that !
There is no doubt you will will be nominated for Multiple Grammy Awards! The extra points are endless: ingenuity, entertaining, concise and much more etc! I rarely "watch" ads, but I absorbed the Norton LifeLock content while watching you work... Now, I need a Wagner Paint Sprayer and much more :-) Even though the darn snake startled me a second time.... I remain Subscribed, with my Notification Bell Turned "ON" :-) Thank you for sharing. You put a ton of effort into this video! Very Well Done!
I just watched it again. It turned out so nice. What a great difference
Great project and incredible job on recycling the wood.
I have several times used recycled cedar fence boards on projects. I did a beautiful project around a big island that turned out beautiful recently. The nail holes just added character on my project.
Great project! Great use of material with little cost for actual wood.
Loved the edit man!! Super awesome with the back and forth when you were nailing the boards together.
Your implementation of ad in the video is currently the best implementation of sponsors i have watched... I didnt have to fast forward till the sponsor section because the action is still ongoing behind the clip
What an awesome transformation!!! It was labor intensive but had to be so gratifying to give new life to that old fence and keep it out of the landfill. Also saved a lot of money. The end product looks fantastic!
yes, I would of still been working on that... seriously!!
Very nice that looks great . I've always liked your common sense approach to things .
An air punch nailer is a game changer! I try to repurpose as much lumber as possible for my builds too. Nice transformation and way better than the lattice look, keep up the great work as the goal is to inspire others to build something awesome!👍🏼
Yeah, that air puncher is a beast
Looks great. I have been wanting to do something like this to our deck. Thanks for sharing.
Looks amazing. Great outcome
Nicely done Brad & lots of hard work always pays off in spades! 👍👍👏👏😉😉
That nail puncher is the tool I didn't know I needed. I just bought one (from your link). Thank you very much for this video.
Very nice. God bless your skills and talent.
Wow. Amazing as always. I kinda liked the 2 tone look off the stained deck n post and the natural color of inserts. Either way looks great. Way better than using whatever 4x8 wood/ vinyl lattice at local box store n cutting it to fit. You made it your own. Great job once again
Awesome build Brad. Love the upcycled material and the look turned out great. I settled for lattice a couple years ago and while it was better than nothing, doesn’t look great.
Great job man! I’ve been looking to do something very similar to my deck, and this video helps big time! Thank you!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Your title made me wonder if you'd been watching Drew Fisher! This was fun to watch, as always, and the final product is lovely!
Wow! Just wow! That looks amazing!
I learned a good bit watching you, thanks for the hard work it took to make the video.
Genius hinge fitting technique, I'll he using that! Great looking panels, really nice texture on the strips
Came out great! Nice work.
Reuse like this is so cool. Amazing video.
I'm a big of upcycling used lumber for projects like these. I helped a friend tear down his deck years ago and I STILL have lumber to use from that. At today's prices, it can't be beat and the wood is still good!
Wow! What a huge difference. Awesome job man.
Really like how this turned out!!
That's a great project! Excellent work.
Thanks, Wassim!
Looks great! Thanks for sharing 😎🙌🏽
Looks really good , like the fact that it is all reclaimed !!
Man what an awesome job you did there Brad! Looks really good 👍🏼
Awesome job! Looks great!
Years back we re-did all the baseboard in the house and the 18ga brad nailer was a life saver. After hammering in nails to the first board I went and bought the thing. I also had a project that needed staples and got an air powered staple gun because the hand held one was a pain. Falls into the "best purchase ever" category.
One of my favorite UA-camrs. Great video!
Beautimous! Awesome re-use project!
Sweet look, great job... Loved the pneumatic nail remover, BTW!
bravo, brad! nice work.
Well done. Great inspiration. I did the same thing. 3 years ago someone was taking down their deck. I look cjed itvup for $450. And ended up with a 10 x 20 deck with composite top. Alot of work to pull all nails screws and clips but we'll worth the effort
Nice!
Another awesome project! Well done!
Very cool video editing on this one! Fun and dynamic looking!^^
Very cool man! I did something similar to my deck many years ago. I used treated decking boards and ran them vertically rather than horizontally. I think either way is a lot better look than lattice.
DUDE!!!!! That looks absolutely amazing! Probably increased the curb appeal of the house by thousands, or in today's terms, tens of thousands!!! :P
This is really great job thank you amazing work
Phenomenal vid! Tons of work involved in this bad boy! Well done!
Yeah, it was a ton of work, but now that it's done it's worth it 😀
@@Fixthisbuildthat Yes sir. And the Google AdSense doesn’t hurt…
This is really a lot of work it's long time you have a patient I don't have permission for that you make it so easy but it is hard because you are good at what you do that's awesome man
Great job, congratulations to vídeo, i loved it!! I’m from 🇧🇷 Brasil. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This space turned out great and you definitely snagged a bargain on the lumber! Nice work with your Wagner sprayer!
Wow looking much better...
Thanks!
Haven’t been here in a while perhaps since you got a full time editor because this video’s editing was 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
That looks fantastic!
scrap woods takes a lot of effort and time but the result is satisfying.. I made a project using scrap pallets and the result is nice. 🤗🤗🤗
Awesome solution!
Nicely done and recycling too.
Your edit at 10:06 is amazing!!! Also, it time to install some LED lights under there!!
You did a great job! I did a similar job to my friends back porch/deck in TN. I hate hand saws but I found most american hand saws work /cut on the push stroke. When you apply a pushing force the blade wants to bend on an america style saw so your cuts are wider and not straight! I bought a Kakuri Japanese pull saw! It cuts on the pull stoke! The blade is in tension and keeps a straight thin cut.
Amazing is the right word great job guy
Great reuse. Turned out perfect.
Love the montage segments!
That’s awesome work and really beautiful 🤩 👏 👍
Great use of reclaimed lumber. Turned out great!
Great job, It turned out very nice
You did a super job on this!
Nice, working on a fence right now and considering spraying the wood to try match my deck. Skirting the deck is on the horizon, too
Looks really good.
Looks outstanding! We’re still using the wood planks from our neighbor’s fencing. My husband thought I was crazy, but now with the cost of wood, he’s once again bowing to the queen of (s)crap.
😂 😂 Love that!
If you use a lot of reclaimed timber I think you would find a pinpointer a great help. It will locate all those hidden nails left in the wood. I use one on all my wood before running it through my joiner thicknesser.
Well done. Huge difference
I wish I had all those tools
Definitely makes building exciting
This build was oddly satisfying!! Thank you.
The spraying was the best part!
@@Fixthisbuildthat for me too!!
Might consider adding some screen to the inside to keep down the bees and wasps. Great work!
Turned out great!!
Pretty fantastic work, Brad! Nicely done! 😃
Good lumber like that going to trash? That would've been bad!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Looks great!
That was a lot of work, you reused all wood, put so much time, I enjoyed the video even thou I don’t have a deck, nor tools or knowledge how to use them lol, just for your hardworking , great tools and awesome shop I subbed.
nice video, good job saving the wood!
Attack of the Wasps, great video man. ill be attempting this when summer arrives
Todo Bonito. Muy Hermoso Sus Trabajos, Como Quisiera Yo Saber Esto También, Gracias Saludos Desde COLOMBIA.......🙌🙌🙋🙋
After finding several hidden nails and staples damaging my tools, I’ve learned to buy a $20 metal detector through Amazon and it’s been a game changer.
That's the one!
Me who has a metal detector app that works
@Official Nebula what’s that app called ?
Great video. As a former engineer I LOVED the line "sucker for symmetry and a recovering engineer" :)
11:08 - "after a few adjustments". I don't know why but I liked this part. As usual, great video Brad.
Nice work especially with using reclaimed materials!
Wow what a great video and it looks amazing
Appreciate it!
Way to Fred Sanford that valuable material !! Looks great! I might be inclined to put some screen on the back sides to keep the wasps out 😉
This turned out great.
Nice outcome
Looks great
Wow this is great!👏🏽
not to take anything away from the guy but the way DIY"ers complicate themselves amazes me.
Great upgrade.
That looks so awesome! Definitely WAY better than lattice
Awesome work..
