That was his mom dork 😂 she was trying to stop him before he flooded this beast! You’ve clearly never dealt with older muscle cars. You have to prime the fuel pump while getting it to turn over by depressing the gas pedal.
My husband and I had this same charger 500... 383 4 bbl. Paid $4800 in Dec 1970. I still remember that high-pitched whine when cranking. Ours was dark green with a black vinyl roof and dark green interior. We both loved the tall front seats.Wish we had kept her as she was HOT. A truly beautiful work of art. Miss her still today. Take good care of this baby!!!
The Charger automobile was a product of the Dodge Division of the Chrysler Corporation. One of our fine UA-cam commentators, indeed one “shirlenehanna4508,” who apparently owned one of these Charger automobiles, was instructed by UA-cam commentator, “michaeltutty1540,” that the automobile in this presentation was not being started correctly, potentially limiting it’s lifespan.
318 in my opinion was a good motor for everyday driving. I had a duster with a 318 and a shortbed 4x4 dodge truck with a 318 and both ran really well. They weren't power houses but a to b it's dependable.
Yes and you can turn them into beasts and play against the bad ones like 351 Cleveland 383 strokers here in California at Sears point raceway several massaged 318 which is the same as a 340 have eaten Chevys and shit Ford's.😅
My second favorite Charger of all time. First the 69. It's the back lights on those two model years That always got me. Wish the cameraman would have done a walk around of this car.
My 72 SE with 318 2 barrel would crank if it was frozen or on fire. Great engine. Legendary small block. Like the 289 and 283. Like what you like but , all 3 were workhorses.
The lines on that car are absolute automotive art on wheels. Remember when they came out, stealing the thunder of the 68' Stingrays revamp. Just personifies America. Muscle. Go and look at the tail lights of a 68' Chevelle Malibu and realize why the choice is clear, it's Mopar or no car👍
Can't mistake that all mechanical throttle linkage and the old Mopar starter.............it might start a little quicker if the starter would turn faster.............but that's the way it was back then
We had a dodge valiant with a 318,cc we put so many miles on it, the cam lob wore down so much it wouldnt push the fuel pump, so we put a electric one on.❤
That’s not a car you start. That’s a car you wake up! Man that’s music to the ears!!
Oh yeah!!
Подскажите кто мог себе позволить на такой ездить?

Karen: no, no, stop
Charger: nope i've hit the point of no return
pay attention, stupid. She is literally asking that Charger to start.
Are you so sure she's even being negative here? People always assume the worst...
She was telling him that if he keeps mistreating it like that he is going to ruin it. That is NOT how you work a Carter 4bbl carburetor.
@@michaeltutty1540I’m a little confused here but how is he mistreating it??
😂😂😂PRICELESS😂😂😂
I just love the sound of those old school mopar starters. Beautiful car
The sound of a 318 cranking over is soooo distinctive; total flashbacks to my childhood.

He best learn how to start it or he will ruin the engine.

If you had $4,800 in 1970 it's almost guaranteed you were born into wealth.
Most beautiful sound on the planet

shit man my '84 B250 van with the 2 barrel 318 feels like a beast. don't have to give it much throttle to chirp the tires
The 318 was bulletproof!!
Those mopar starters had incredible sounds compared to GM and Ford.
I swear man
I always love the sound of their starters.
Gear drive!
Believe it or not, the starters that on the 70 Chargers is the exact same starters that on all the modern Chargers & Challenger today.
@@rconley40I’ll have to listen to one of the modern ones today then get back to you for comment
I saw a 57 Chevy the other night by my job (Sandy's ATX) took him 2 minutes to start it up lol but it sounded great 😌😌
It's always called waking up the beast from a hibernation
If it takes 2 minutes to start there is something very wrong with it.
'70 Charger baby! LOVE IT!!!
My second favorite Charger of all time. First the 69.

Poor 318, there were so many choices of engines and someone decided on the 318.
The car looks immaculate.
