He and Phil collaborated on a number of songs, including Parisienne Walkways. There is an incredible live version with Phil on vocals and bass. That song has spawned numerous covers.

Our local, classic rock radio station used to play that song for years. I always imagine singing to the original centuries ago in a Pub and what that would be like.
If you like Thin Lizzy, check out their "cowboy song". I am from Wyoming, and we are the "Cowboy State". Rodeos, ranches, and wide open spaces, so this song really fits. Good times in the summer!

Couple of my favorite songs of theirs are Jailbreak and the Cowboy songs . The live version of Cowboy song / The Boys Are Back In Town is awesome . Great reaction .
My interpretation of 11:09 : “What’s the song about? Ah, a gang. *OOH, CANDY!* Love the candy. Hate the box. The candy’s not as good as it used to be. Oh, yeah. This band and that song.”
Tin Lizzie was a nickname in the US for the model T Ford automobile back in the day. That is probably where the name of the comic book character came from.
“We were throwing around ideas for a name after a rehearsal one night,” added Downey, “and Eric suggested Tin Lizzie, who was a character in [children’s comic magazine] ‘The Dandy.'” The name eventually stuck, and Bell switched the spelling to Thin Lizzy, a playful reference to the local accent of their hometown of Dublin, Ireland, which would have pronounced “Thin” as “T’in.” “We all laughed at that one,” he added. “But the next day, we were still trying to come up with a name, but nothing seemed right, so Eric again put forward Tin Lizzie. As we had nothing better, we thought why not. It was also Eric who changed the spelling to Thin Lizzy.”
The song was missing the part where he whispers, "the boys are back. The boys are back" and then it goes into a solo/bridge part. It's harmonizing guitar solos with a cool bass part under it and it is one of my favorite parts (my band used to cover this song back in the '80s).
It's changed up a lot from the album version. I'm guessing, since this appears to be for a TV show performance, that they had to make it fit the time allotted.
My first job was in a hire shop. In 1983 we had a call for two scaffold towers to the Ipswich Odeon. Thin Lizzy were playing that night and they needed extra stage for their huge PA. Passes were given and the gig was amazing.
Diane, it's so much fun watching your music journey. This one came out in 1976 when I was 16 and I always liked it. I didn't really know much about the band itself, so it was nice to learn more about them. Great reaction!
Thin Lizzy Boys are back in town are the only song I heard of the band on the classic rock radio stations. I enjoyed listening to the song with You as You discovered it on the music journey. Thanks for making Rock On Party On Wednesdays Very Joyful. 🎵🎸🎤
Diane…you made my day! The greatest band EVER! Funny story: when I was 16, I had tickets to see Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, Lizzy was opening. I knew nothing about Thin Lizzy. Didn’t know what they sounded like , looked like or where they were from. My buddy and I were hanging out where the buses were part, hoping to meet Blackmore. There was a tall, black guy talking to some girls and he had an Irish brogue. I went up to him and asked if he was from Ireland. He said yes and asked me who I was there to see. I replied Rainbow. He said “I’d keep me eye on the support band…I hear they’re cracken. When they introduced the opening band, I realized I met Phil Lynott! Wonderful memory . Long live Phil! Long Live Lizzy!!!! Love your channel!
I’m sure you’ve heard of Rory Gallagher from Cork, and Gary Moore from Belfast who was once a member of Thin Lizzy, two Blues Rockers who were lost far too young. If you haven’t, check out Rory’s 1974 Irish tour and anything from Gary live at Montreaux Jazz festival. Loved your reaction!❤️ Cheers from the USA!
Gary Moore just freaking Wow! SRV ONE of the best players of Fender Straocasters guitars and Gary Moore. one of the best players of Gibson Les Paul's! And From my home town of Gilroy( San Fransico Bay areaCal USA)close to FIGHTING OUT OF blues corner! HIS HOMETOWN OF Hayward California, Dave Meneketi( Yand T) His solo album "On the blue side" worth a listen. I promise you will not be disappointed!
Phils mom was in England when he was born and a few interviewers have brought it up and he would get very stern and say he's an Irishman from Ireland . The REPUBLIC of Ireland . It was a bit of a joke on the English . They added the the H to tin lizzy knowing the English would say thin and the Irish would still get it right and say Tin . Not many hits ( boys are back , dancing in the moonlight , jailbreak , whiskey ) but MANY great songs if you just dig a bit deeper
An Irish rite of passage, indeed! In the U.S. when I grew up, this song was embraced by two or three generations. Those that came home after WWII or the Korean conflict and those that came home from the Viet Nam war. Warriors after conflict rely on each other to feel more normal after experiencing the horrors of war.
From the U.S., “The Boys are Back in Town” was the only Top 40 hit for Thin Lizzy in this country (so, the person writing what you are reading, Diane, is definitely writing that from perspective of the U.S. charts only). Although not hits here in the states, Thin Lizzy’s version of “ Whiskey In a Jar” (originally from The Dubliners) and the band’s “Jailbreak” (which you might want to do a video listen to) were staples of U.S. Album Rock stations, and continue to be staples of U.S. Classic Rock stations over 45 years after their release, & are now quite popular in this country. Another Irish band you might want to check out is the punk, later early new wave band, The Undertones, who were quite popular on many very late 70’s, and early 80’s U.S. alternative Rock stations. The Undertones were from Northern Ireland.
I was fortunate enough to do some vocals for Gary Moore in London many years back and got to know him fairly well over a few beers after the recording sessions on a number of occasions. Gary was an absolutely superb human being, humorous, humble, kind and very down to earth, He always spoke so highly of Phil Lynott. They are both sorely missed.
Diane, you are such a pro. You are making these videos seem effortless, which I'm sure they're not. You look comfortable and like you're having fun. They are certainly fun to watch. Good on you!
This song launched then into the limelight in the UK in the 70s but before this came their rework of the Irish folk song Whisky In The Jar and after it came the much better Lizzy penned songs Jailbreak, Don't Believe a Word and Dancing In The Moonlight. Also their cover of Rosalie is well worth a listen. All of these are gems from way back when and really there was nothing that sounded anything like Phil's part sing part spoken verses. Happy days.
7:20 That's actually incorrect. It wasn't a drug overdose; he was going cold turkey, trying to kick it. But his body finally gave out on him after years of heavy abuse. He had the constitution of an ox and was never going to go via an OD, it was always more likely to be an accumulation. Hence the septicemia and resultant system failure.
I have to say I think you're doing an amazing thing by checking out all these songs and widening your musical knowledge and you've had some absolute classics on so far
Warm early summer nights, when the bar kept it's doors open, the sound of Harleys rolling in . The music playing from the jukebox, smokey air and being young in the 70's. Yeah lived it all was freaking awesome
I saw a great documentary about Phil Lynott, really good, kinda sad, the interviews with his mother are really heartbreaking but she was so relentlessly positive and supported her son completely. This song was on the radio in the U.S. constantly, still is on classic rock channels. Another great video. Diane likes long haired guitar players. 🤩 Btw, I think Nick Drake might be a good one to feature, his song Pink Moon from the album of the same name is great.
I always wished they would play more than one song from this band on classic rock radio in the U.S. Sometimes they play Jailbreak, but Angel From The Coast, Emerald, Bad Reputation, Thunder and Lightning, Dancing In The Moonlight, Chinatown, and so much more is thereto choose.
Hello Diane. Great to see your reaction to a great song. Thin Lizzy were huge, also a huge part of my early musical education. Yes, this is a really upbeat shout it from the rooftops anthem, but Lizzy could also be stunningly soulful in their ballads. You've got to check out the live version of "Still in love with you". The song just drips with heartfelt emotion and combined with Brian Robertson's magnificent guitar solo it just brings me to tears thinking about the girls that could have been the one. For me it's their best piece of work ever. Robertson (Robbo) was only 17 when he joined the band and he was shit hot even then. Check it out please.
You should definitely listen to their version of Whiskey in the Jar. It's an interesting take with a rock sound, but the lyrics sung much slower than is traditionally done. It's always cool to hear irish bands try their own version of traditional songs that were likely their introduction to music. These guys were the right age to have heard some of those great old bands like the Dubliners on television and radio while growing up.
Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues (Live) ... This song has been my ringtone for years. From one of the top all time great guitarist and vocals . Gary Moore (4 April 1952 - 6 February 2011) was a Northern Irish musician. He was also in Thin Lizzy from 1974 to 1979
My favorite Thin Lizzy is the Cowboy Song... check it out.... I am just a cowboy lonesome on the trail A starry night, a campfire light The coyote call And the howling winds wail So I'll ride out to the old sundown I am just a cowboy lonesome on the trail Lord I'm just thinkin' about a certain female The nights we spent together ridin' on the range Lookin' back it didn't seem so strange Roll me over and turn me around Let me keep spinnin' till I hit the ground Roll me over and let me go ridin' in the rodeo I was took in Texas I did not know her name Lord all these southern girls they seem the same Down below the border in a town in Mexico I got my job busting broncs for the rodeo Roll me over and turn me around Let me keep spinnin' till I hit the ground Roll me over and let me go, runnin' free with the buffalo (Here I go) Roll me over And I'll turn around And I'll move my fingers Up and down Up and down It's okay amigo Just let me go Ridin' in the rodeo Roll me over and turn me around Let me keep spinnin' till I hit the ground Roll me over and let me go ridin' in the rodeo Roll me over and set me free The cowboy's life is the life for me
Whiskey in a far was a traditional Irish folk song originally being spoken. Thin lizzy among others recorded it most recently being performed by Metallica on their Garage Inc. Album.this being my favorite version.
Thin lizzy created the rock version of this traditional song. Phil and Eric Bell are responsible for these arrangements. And it was this version that was covered by Metallica, because the first bassist was a fan of the band and this song.
This song was big in Canada. The boys are back seems to remind me of John Travolta in Grease. Want to hear a sweet tune listen to the late Randy Meisner singing Take it to limit by the Band the Eagles. Live will melt your heart
This band probably had more UK popularity in the day. This song was popular but not a big hit in the U.S. It deserved more attention. One of the great power ballads of the '80's.
I have been a fan of Thin Lizzy since I was in high school, I discovered them shortly after Lynott's death actually, and have been a huge fan ever since and I'm glad you've finally taken to them too. I definitely recommend giving Whiskey in the Jar a listen it is an iconic tune for them that though they remade it in their own way it has become the basis of so many modern renditions. And yes, in his day in the rock scene, Phil Lynott was a heartthrob despite being bi-racial.
Often times when a band is labeled a One Hit Wonder, it refers to U.S. charts and sales. Even Jimi Hendrix is technically one too. Thin Lizzy had a lot of references to Irish history and lore in the lyrics (Eire, Emerald, Black Rose). Also Phil Lynott would write personal lyrics about growing up in Dublin (Shades of a Blue Orphanage, Dublin, Saga of an Aging Orphan). So for me it was very intense to visit Dublin and the Thin Lizzy exhibition at The Irish Rock n Roll Experience. Phil also wrote beautiful songs dedicated to family. Which can be confusing since there are two different songs called Sarah, one for his grandmother and one for his daughter. But of course his mother, Philomena, and his other daughter, Cathleen, got their own songs. Three years ago there was a documentary released about Phil, called A Song For While I’m Away, that I really liked. It didn’t focus on the excess and rock myth, but on the person and musician.
The first time I heard "Whiskey in a Jar", it was Metallica's version. I, later, heard the original, and finally Thin Lizzy's. I think they're all good in their own ways.
I will paraphrase an interview with Phil, who was once asked what it was like to “be Irish and Black”. Phil answered it’s “like Guinness - smooth.” 🍀🎸 (I wrote before finish of video!) Thin Lizzy has been nominated for the Rock Hall of Fame, twice…after years of being eligible…they are not yet in. (I’ve voted in the fan vote, for each nomination) Lizzy should have been in the Rock Hall, years ago. 🙄🎸
Thanks Diane! I have heard this song before but had no idea that Thin Lizzy had an Irish background or that they were that old of a band. Always thought their music was from the 80's or 90's. Good to know!
This song is was always playing in the background when I first started riding my motorcycle to several bbq and beer festivals around the start of warmer weather.
I love love love Thin Lizzy. (I suppose back in the 1970s, I was a meathead brother...) Hanging out at Dino's Bar & Grill and blasting out my favorite song on the jukebox is on my Rock 'n Roll bucket list. I assume it's entirely invented for the song, but surely since then someone has opened a place using the name. As for the performance, either they are lip-synching to the studio record, or they are uncannily good at recreating it live. My guess is lip-synching for a TV appearance. Yes, Lynott died young due to complications from a heroin addiction. Ah, you looked it up. If you revisit Thin Lizzy in a future video, I suggest Cowboy Song (my favorite Thin Lizzy song, and one of my favorites by any artist), Jailbreak, Dancing in the Moonlight (NOTE: There is another song with the same title by King Harvest. They are both good, but are entirely different songs), or Whiskey In the Jar. They count as a "one hit wonder" in the United States because they only had one song that broke the Top 40 here, although several of their songs have remained popular on classic rock radio. They had numerous hits in Ireland and the UK, though. As far as suggesting songs for future reactions, I'm torn between songs that are very well known (for better UA-cam numbers) and maybe those that are a bit less mainstream, because some of those are very cool.
Suggest both! There’s no character limit… At least I haven’t been there to be one? Oh, that’s a good question is there a character limit on UA-cam?… I don’t know!
Diane, Whiskey in the Jar is the old Irish folk song with the Thin Lizzy take on it. A few other of their songs have celtic feels try Emerald (featuring Gary Moore another of your countrymen). then (hope I spell this right) Rosin Dahb (Black Rose) both are awesome.
Happy Wednesday Diane! This Lizzy is definitely Not a one hit wonder. Highly recommend their songs Jailbreak, The Cowboy Song and Emerald. Dancing in the Moonlight is another good one too!
@@DianeJennings A band called Toploader did a cover of the 70s King Harvest song Dancing in the Moonlight which is a great song too! Also Elga Fox from Try/Facts does a great cover of Thin Lizzy's Dancing in the Moonlight.
Hi Diane! This is a great reaction. I can tell you love this song! I do too! ❤ I couldn’t help noticing that there was an entire verse missing. It has to do with one of the “Boys” trying to pick up a woman and being rejected. I don’t know if you did that or if this was just the version you listened to. Either way, in my opinion it shouldn’t be controversial. I still enjoyed what I saw, but I was disappointed at the end. I consider myself old fashioned. I don’t want to hear graphic lyrics or gross acts in a song, but I’m also not into the newer cancel culture censorship either. I think the song needs to be played as it was recorded at the time of its popularity. I want to finish positively by saying I really like you and your channel. We’re all just people with different perspectives on things, and I’m just sharing some of mine.
10:16 If you gigged at Bruxelles pub in Temple bar then you met Phil Lynott's mother Philomena. She used to frequent the pub until she became ill with cancer. Thin Lizzy used to gig regularly at Bruxelles until they were signed to a record contract.
I've been a fan of Thin Lizzy since mid-70s and my mother who was born in Galway instilled in me a great love for anything Irish including the melancholy memories because of her off always loved Irish musicians and bands if you haven't ever heard or reacted to Rory Gallagher I'd love to see your reaction to him
Awesome! Im swedish and was brought up on Lizzy. They were always big over here among us "hard rockers". It will always be my No1 band. I got to see them in Gothenburg 1983 on their farewell tour. Lynott was such a great songwriter. He died way too soon.
They wanted to be called Tin Lizzy, after a 🤖 robot cartoon (also a model T Ford)..but the record company mistook Tin for an Irish pronounce of Thin, so they minted them as Thin Lizzy and they stuck with it. A favorite band of mine 🤠.
I spent 20 years in the Navy. I think every ship I was on played that song when we returned to our home port after a cruise. I spent a night drinking pints in Dublin once as well! Good Time...
Such a fun song Diane. Don't think of this journey in terms of how little you know. Think of it as how much there is to discover. Each new to you song opens a wonderful world of new experiences to treasure. Good video, and say hi to Editor Diane for me. She's an Irish national treasure. As for a band recommendation, Steely Dan is amazing. My favorite song is FM. But their most popular is either Reelin' in the Years, or Do It Again. Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong.
Happy Wednesday Diane! I have never heard of Tin Lizzie but this particular song I have heard over the end credits of the film "The Expendables". You look like you were having fun with the reaction. 👋😎
I remember being stationed in Germany back in the late 70s, and a close fiend of mine loved Thin Lizzy. He would always blast this particular song in his van when we were heading to our favorite hangout. Good times. 😊

As an Englishman the Thin Lizzy version is the default and the one played in bars.
This song and a few others off the album is about a Manchester gang from the 60s a few get a mention in the songs and were known to Phil's mum.
It's missing the part where the chick got up and slapped Johnny's face and they just fell about the place.
If that chick don’t wanna go, forget ‘er.
Fun fact!! There's actually a Dinos bar and grill in Marlow a few yards down the road from the record shop where I first purchased "JailBreak" 😃

So much more to Thin Lizzy than the few hit songs, Phil was a brilliant song writer and the whole Lizzy catalogue should be listened to.

“We were throwing around ideas for a name after a rehearsal one night,” added Downey, “and Eric suggested Tin Lizzie, who was a character in [children’s comic magazine] ‘The Dandy.'”
The name eventually stuck, and Bell switched the spelling to Thin Lizzy, a playful reference to the local accent of their hometown of Dublin, Ireland, which would have pronounced “Thin” as “T’in.”
“We all laughed at that one,” he added. “But the next day, we were still trying to come up with a name, but nothing seemed right, so Eric again put forward Tin Lizzie. As we had nothing better, we thought why not. It was also Eric who changed the spelling to Thin Lizzy.”

Thin Lizzy Boys are back in town are the only song I heard of the band on the classic rock radio stations. I enjoyed listening to the song with You as You discovered it on the music journey. Thanks for making Rock On Party On Wednesdays Very Joyful. 🎵🎸🎤
Rock on Wednesday 😂 I like that! Glad you enjoyed it Rickey
@@DianeJennings 😂Glad you like the phrase 🎉🍕
One of my influences when I started out was Thin Lizzy. They had such a fantastic sound.
God I loved covering their songs on stage.
😅
I’m sure you’ve heard of Rory Gallagher from Cork, and Gary Moore from Belfast who was once a member of Thin Lizzy, two Blues Rockers who were lost far too young. If you haven’t, check out Rory’s 1974 Irish tour and anything from Gary live at Montreaux Jazz festival. Loved your reaction!❤️ Cheers from the USA!
Also never forget Bernie Torme
Gary Moore just freaking Wow! SRV ONE of the best players of Fender Straocasters guitars and Gary Moore. one of the best players of Gibson Les Paul's! And From my home town of Gilroy( San Fransico Bay areaCal USA)close to FIGHTING OUT OF blues corner! HIS HOMETOWN OF Hayward California, Dave Meneketi( Yand T) His solo album "On the blue side" worth a listen. I promise you will not be disappointed!
@@Cyberfender1 Y ant T melts your face!! Been seeing them since the "Black Tiger" tour. Dave is just amother amazing player/ songwriter
Rory Gallagher was one of a kind. One of the best players ever. I saw him 6 times and wished it was more. R.I.P.
I was lucky enough to see Thin Lizzy on the tour for this song, Jailbreak Album when they opened for Queen at the LA Forum March 3 1977
Phil Lynott is a freaking Legend for so many reasons more than the obvious
I've always been a Thin Lizzy fan...he has a great voice! Thanks for the listen! Your friends from northeast Florida 🌅😎
I learned a lot today about thin lizzy that I never knew about the song or band. Also cool you got meet a family member of the band.
Saw them live many times. Brilliant live band. Live and Dangerous album fantastic
"Cold Sweat" is one of my favs from this band.
One of the all time great bands. Such an incredible groove in all their songs.
Such an incredible band!
Oohh classic! The band had so much style in that video 😎 The 70's vibes are strong ✨
Warm early summer nights, when the bar kept it's doors open, the sound of Harleys rolling in . The music playing from the jukebox, smokey air and being young in the 70's. Yeah lived it all was freaking awesome
always loved Thin Lizzy! Phil was amazing as well as the entire band!
One of my favorite bands out of the 70s. It broke my heart when Phil died.
Not typically 😂 he caught my eye but not… like that
😆@@DianeJennings
I always wished they would play more than one song from this band on classic rock radio in the U.S. Sometimes they play Jailbreak, but Angel From The Coast, Emerald, Bad Reputation, Thunder and Lightning, Dancing In The Moonlight, Chinatown, and so much more is thereto choose.
@@wesleybush8646 all those and Fightin’.
@@DianeJenningsI don't remember him being a 70s sex symbol. But I was younger....
This song was also featured in the movie Navy Seals as well.
I was 18 in '80 and a big rick fan. Lizzy were great rockers, but good lyrics and very melodic.
Many years ago, the Dallas Cowboys football team did use this song as the new season started one year.
The Boys Are Back & The Cowboy Song were two of the biggest favorites back in the day, for being fun to play by bar bands & for the crowd to dance to.
Thin Lizzy are Rock Royalty 🤘🤘
Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues (Live) ... This song has been my ringtone for years. From one of the top all time great guitarist and vocals . Gary Moore (4 April 1952 - 6 February 2011) was a Northern Irish musician. He was also in Thin Lizzy from 1974 to 1979
Check out Rory Gallagher he's another great singer and guitarist.
Also from Ireland
Rory was a real Rockstar. One of the best ever.
My favorite Thin Lizzy is the Cowboy Song... check it out....
I am just a cowboy lonesome on the trail
A starry night, a campfire light
The coyote call
And the howling winds wail
So I'll ride out to the old sundown
I am just a cowboy lonesome on the trail
Lord I'm just thinkin' about a certain female
The nights we spent together ridin' on the range
Lookin' back it didn't seem so strange
Roll me over and turn me around
Let me keep spinnin' till I hit the ground
Roll me over and let me go ridin' in the rodeo
I was took in Texas I did not know her name
Lord all these southern girls they seem the same
Down below the border in a town in Mexico
I got my job busting broncs for the rodeo
Roll me over and turn me around
Let me keep spinnin' till I hit the ground
Roll me over and let me go, runnin' free with the buffalo
(Here I go)
Roll me over
And I'll turn around
And I'll move my fingers
Up and down
Up and down
It's okay amigo
Just let me go
Ridin' in the rodeo
Roll me over and turn me around
Let me keep spinnin' till I hit the ground
Roll me over and let me go ridin' in the rodeo
Roll me over and set me free
The cowboy's life is the life for me
Whiskey in a far was a traditional Irish folk song originally being spoken.
Everyone should listen to Primus doing "Tommy the Cat" from 1991...
Met Phil in New Orleans, 1977?..
I was a young guy "from back in the day" and yes, the girls loved Phil!
I will paraphrase an interview with Phil, who was once asked what it was like to “be Irish and Black”. Phil answered it’s “like Guinness - smooth.”
🍀🎸 (I wrote before finish of video!)
Thin Lizzy has been nominated for the Rock Hall of Fame, twice…after years of being eligible…they are not yet in. (I’ve voted in the fan vote, for each nomination) Lizzy should have been in the Rock Hall, years ago. 🙄🎸
ah man you're in for a real treat! You've been missing out!
Great Reaction! I like “Jailbreak” the song best of theirs. They Rocked!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it Ken!
I like your reactions! Also that last bit of info is great. Please keep them up, so many songs to choose from!
Thanks Diane! I have heard this song before but had no idea that Thin Lizzy had an Irish background or that they were that old of a band. Always thought their music was from the 80's or 90's. Good to know!
We are learning stuff together. Hooray.🎉
@@DianeJenningsabsolutely!
Can't fault you for thinking that, Phil and Lizzy were ahead of their time. Metallica took their sound from Lizzy.
Ohhhh dancing in the Moonlight… Was that released as a cover by another band in the 2000s?
@@DianeJennings A band called Toploader did a cover of the 70s King Harvest song Dancing in the Moonlight which is a great song too! Also Elga Fox from Try/Facts does a great cover of Thin Lizzy's Dancing in the Moonlight.
Seen them in Cleveland in 79. Part of the world series of rock .
Who ever said they were a one hit wonder is tone deaf!
I like watching your reaction to hearing new/ old songs. I also like that you let us hear the song, then hear your reaction
Hi Diane! This is a great reaction. I can tell you love this song! I do too! ❤
I couldn’t help noticing that there was an entire verse missing.
Any day you learn something new is a good day! Your Reactions are a joy to me and Entertaining as well.Cheers From Chicago Illinois!!!
I've heard this song since forever but never knew they were Irish. Thanks for sharing!
I remenber the day when I listen Dedication for the first time. My mind blowed! The very best band around the world!
love thin lizzy. born in the 60S and have loved this band for a very long time.
When I first heard they were Irish, many years ago, I was blown away. Catchy tune!
They wanted to be called Tin Lizzy, after a 🤖 robot cartoon (also a model T Ford)..but the record company mistook Tin for an Irish pronounce of Thin, so they minted them as Thin Lizzy and they stuck with it. A favorite band of mine 🤠.
Saw Thin Lizzy live twice back in the late 1970’s. Still rate them as one of the top bands I’ve ever seen.
Listen to the two different versions of "Don't Believe a Word." Both are incredible and thankfully on UA-cam.
You know the only thing better than a killer guitar solo? A killer guitar duet!
Thanks for reacting to it Diane!
No problem 😊
Happy Wednesday Diane! I have never heard of Tin Lizzie but this particular song I have heard over the end credits of the film "The Expendables". You look like you were having fun with the reaction. 👋😎
The Cure "Just Like Heaven" (Official Music Video A MUST!!)
Great Band! Diane, your channel is the perfect blend of listening to the song and commenting intra-song. Whiskey In A Jar, is required listening.
Yay another video and on my Birthday too.
Happiest of birthdays to yoooou 😊😊😊
I remember being stationed in Germany back in the late 70s, and a close fiend of mine loved Thin Lizzy. He would always blast this particular song in his van when we were heading to our favorite hangout. Good times. 😊
