I used to really love the series, the movie without a doubt still holds up and while I can't fully speak for the show since I haven't watched it in about 6 years it's still seemingly pretty good. But while it seems it's had a slight decrease in quality it still was a big part of my early life.
The episode were George try’s to take a bath but the super in the basement had turn the water off and George didn’t know so if I remember right he had a mud bath lol
This show was so great, even my mom used to really like each episode. Favorite episode has got to be the one where George starts a car washing business for toy cars, certified banger.
Arthur, Word Girl, Cyberchase, Wild Kratts, and Curious George are my 5 gods of PBS kids. I would say the original cast of odd squad was goated too, but the following casts didn't give the same feeling.
There is a UA-cam channel called _The Unlucky Tug_ which dedicates almost all of its content towards high quality, really entertaining discussions, analyses and reviews of the _Thomas_ franchise, as well as to its sister series _Tugs,_ and the _Cars_ franchise.
One of the most memorable episodes (for me at least), was the fear of the dark one. The one where George got lost in a cave and then got a fear of monsters in the dark. It was really comforting to me as a kid, and I can remember the sound design was always a delight to listen to. I always wished I could have gone on those silly little adventures with him, exploring the countryside and discovering new things. One of my favorite characters was the lobby dog, Hundley. He was always so suspicious of George and just wanted to keep everything calm and orderly. There was one episode, where George got himself and Hundley locked out of the apartment the two of them got lost in the city at night, but then they realized they needed to retrace their steps, using the sounds of the city. I can still hear the squawking of the bird from the pet shop they passed, and the man playing his trumpet. The show was a big part of my childhood, and it will always have a special place in my heart, along with many other pbs kids shows.
I thought you guys were referring to the creepy noise in the basement one lol. Also that episode where they got lost was so funny. The ending felt kinda hopeless and unfortunate cause George knocked over something and cause a huge mess but it just zoomed out into the night sky as Hundley desperately howled
Curious George is the goat out of all the pbs shows for me. Such a nice comfortable atmosphere, great characters, and music. The movie was great, too, though I’m still curious to this day how the canon works since the show appears to be different from the movie (though obviously based on it), yet all the sequels to the original movie appear to be based on the cartoon universe. Also, I gotta say, I love the Christmas movie so much. Good times…. I miss being a kid man
Same! I always wondered that concept too on the difference between the show & the movie canon!...🤔 & yeah I agree, Curious George, is like the Sponge Bob of PBS Kids, honestly!
My theory is that Ted never wore yellow as a child after the zany Island incident, then when he said in the store, it reminded him of his childhood. And now it’s really special to him. Stanley (my fanmade name for the doorman in the TV show) Is probably the son of Ivan, the doorman from the first two movies. I don’t count any of the movies as canon except for the original, follow that monkey, twins in the spring, Halloween boo fest, and the Christmas special. Professor Wiseman likely replaced Professor Bloomsbury’s position after he retired or passed away. That’s just my personal headcannon though
This was my absolute favorite show as a kid, I was born in 06 so I pretty much watched it until I was like 8… I had many favorite episodes, but I always loved the one where they were in the country trying to plan Mr. Quint and his siblings surprise birthday party, so George had to distract them by pretending they were building a pond and with some “fish crackers” and everyone kept saying “Fish craaaakers OOH, OOH, OOH!” Gosh, that’s such a specific memory, but I went around saying that for like two years after seeing that episode for the first time😂
I remember watching the Curious George Christmas movie every year on PBS Kids, and let me tell you... That movie had 8-year-old me in tears :') such a wholesome show
I cant believe I forgot this show. Was so wholesome and beautifully animated. I don't care about the sense it makes as the animation like a story book come to life makes me feel nostalgic to those simplier days.
This show is absolutely high quality. High Quality animation, story telling not too contrived, interesting characters, believable world, very positive message for kids. Its not for adults of course, but adults can still find enjoyment in it.
I loved this show as a kid, and considering that I was literally watching the series a couple of days ago, I could say it still holds up pretty well for me.
FUN FACT: "Curious George" also had two (admittedly) underrated claymation shorts in the 80's by John Clark Matthews (who also did claymations for "Frog And Toad"). Side Note-Frank Welker's a great voice actor and his rendition of George was cute (and the song "Upside Down" is just a warm, fuzzy feeling of nostalgia), the claymation George was downright adorable!!
One of the best animated shows ever. Period. Not only is the show very wholesome and welcoming to viewers, but it also has some hilarious moments! My favorite was when they had a skunk in the elevator and the 1812 overture was playing.
What I like about Curious George is that it doesn't talk down to the viewer like... some Nick Jr. cartoons. While not dealing with many deep issues like Bluey, it is like Bluey in that it appeals to many people.
I remember my mom would always say my brother looked like George for whatever reason. Good times. Also completely forgot there was a movie so that's definitely some unlocked memories right there lmao
I was born in 2006, and this was my FAVORITE show as a toddler, I would wake up at like six am, and wake my mom up to put it on on the TV, I even had his toys and clothes
My favorite episode (which I just finished rewatching years later a couple minutes ago) was the episode where George makes his own hat. I remember wanting that hat, I think little me tried to make a hat of his own just like George but out of paper but failed to. I wished and still do wish I went with him on those silly little adventures throughout the series, learned so much from him over the years, I don't watch the show anymore maybe cuz I loved on, but still the child me's spirit is still living within me, I can never forget the amazing memories I had with George, watching him everyday, I still every now and then do look back at the good old times remembering moments and man the theme song and intro still plays in my head a few times, George and his friends were so great to watch, I wanted to make a treehouse when watching the episode he made one, I related very well to The Man In the Yellow hat when he was scared of going on the rollercoaster in the amusement park episode when George tries to be the approved height to ride it, I still never went on a rollercoaster to this day, I'm scared of heights. The scientifically and creatively explained episodes with silly and whacky adventures were some golden moments I will never forget. I wonder what modern day Curious George is like, I gotta check that out but anyways just found this video randomly and I'm going through a nostalgia trip, I wanna be a kid again, I am literally a teenager, just three more years till I'm a legal adult but I would do anything to experience watching the show for first time again. ❤ #curiousgeorgeforever
Curious George was one of my favorite childhood tv shows. I watched it almost all the time on PBS Kids and when it came back on Peacock. I wish they continued to make new episodes and specials. Is Curious George really cancelled for good this time? Why?
I don’t think it’s officially cancelled. My theory is the team is just taking an extended break. Other shows have done this as well, including Bluey, Phineas and Ferb, and even Chuggington!
by far my most favorite animated series I’ve ever watched. Fun fact: In the original Curious George books, George nearly drowns, goes to prison, trashes a dinosaur exhibit, saves an ostrich from choking, washes dishes at an Italian restaurant, gets sent into space, kidnaps a cow, learns how to fold a paper boat, joins the circus and swallows a puzzle piece. Just to name a few adventures.
1. I'm surprised the US held off on airing seasons 10-12 for so long. I mean, they aired on Family Jr in Canada from October 2018-February 2020 before coming to Peacock in July 2020 and then PBS Kids starting in October of that same year. I mean, they all have copyright years of 2017-2019. 2. One thing I think is worth mentioning is that the show was developed by Joe Fallon, who worked on the early seasons of Arthur. He stopped working on the show after season 9, with the story editors for seasons 10-15 being composed of people who already worked on the show before such as Arthur veterans Peter K. Hirsch, Raye Lankford, and Ken Scarborough, though season 11/12 did bring in Animaniacs writer Sherri Stoner as another story editor. Speaking of the cartoon, the sequels released from 2010-2021 were written by people who worked on the cartoon such as Chuck Tately, Glen Berger, the aforementioned Sherri Stoner, and Elana Lesser & Cliff Ruby.
Me and my parents actually like the fact that George never gets punished. Instead of the classic trope of saying “I’m sorry”, George actually tries to fix the problem he started, and often in a heartwarming and unique way.
*I grew up watching curious george alongside cyberchase and the ruff ruffman show because for a long time my family wasn't able to install or afford cable tv so i as a kid me and my siblings didn't have many things to watch on TV but pbs was there so i enjoy every day watching these shows even in some of my early teen years and not afraid or embarrassed to say I'm grew up watching PBS.*
When I was 7, I hurt my neck doing a backflip on my bed after church, and my brother turned on Curious George in the living room, so I somehow managed to get from my room to the TV. The pain was worth it.
My favorite episode right now is the one where hundley goes camping. In a deleted scene of that one, we would have found out the doorman’s name- Stanley.
Remember when I was watching this show before I went to kindergarten... Now I'm a senior in high school and will graduate in June. Time goes by indeed.
This is how movie/TV reviews should be. People looking back on the times they had, and focusing on the good aspects of the show more than the bad. (Sorry for the unexpected rhyme there!) In conclusion, I agree this is a great show. Also your videos remind me of Jonathan Edewaard’s “2nd Dimension” channel.
My adult sister put this on for her epileptic dog to calm her down, and my Mom + every one of my siblings will get lost in conversation to just watch an episode
I remember prancing down the hallways of my house straight to my family computer to pull up PBS kids and play Specifically the Curious George games because If you were a kid apart of the PBS gang we all know the Curios George games was just better than all the rest.
Omg... I used to watch this show and the movies all the time I loved the series and how George goes on all these cool adventures with his friends man... I miss being a kid ❤️
Well, my favorite episode has to be when George goes to like this beach and like build a little thing for like a sailboat. I can’t remember it quite much because it’s been a while but thank you for making this video. I cried while watching it. 😢
I remember watching this show when getting ready for school. Yet, I always get confused on whether or not this was a continuation of the movie. The art style's similar but where was Maggie? Is Dr.Wiseman Ted's new love interest? Is The Man In The Yellow Hat even named Ted in this?! Where's Mr.Bloomsberry? Where's Bloomsberry's son who we now kinda feel sorry for as adults? Why am I asking you all these questions? Mermaid Man, where are you?!
Curious George also aired in the UK too. The programme debuted on CITV in October 2006. CITV had actually started out as a mere programming block in January 1983 before becoming it's own channel in March 2006. From November 2009 to January 2013, the programme was solely aired on Mini CITV, CITV's programming block for preschool programmes. Mini CITV was axed in January 2013 and Curious George then reverted to airing randomly again on CITV until January 2014, where it was removed from the channel as a result of CITV's plan to stop airing preschool programming on the channel. CITV is expected to shut down completely in autumn later this year, becoming an online streaming service instead.
Bro I remember I use to always grab some hot pockets and turned on my 1990 TV and will always watch this show. Nostalgia fr ❤️ I still have the DVD’s of the Christmas and Halloween movies lol
I remember I had a basket ball game where I killed it when I was a kid and I begged my dad to take me to see the curious George movie so he did and it was before I had another game and when I went it was freaking magical I love this movie I was the perfect age when this movie came out and then when I got back to the next game we lost miserably and we got cheated out of the game but I was too happy from watching the movie it was fantastic
I remember liked the show a lot and the books But the second movie I didn’t like so much because they added a villain (yes they did) But I’m not sure about the rest of the movies
I think the real reason curious george pbs kids era was cancelled was maybe because Universal and PBS's relationship was expiring. during their revival on family jr and peacock, WGBH bailed out after season 9 and step back in for a few and Imagine was sometimes uncredited for some reason sometimes.
What nostalgic experiences did you have with Curious George?
I did man.
I used to really love the series, the movie without a doubt still holds up and while I can't fully speak for the show since I haven't watched it in about 6 years it's still seemingly pretty good. But while it seems it's had a slight decrease in quality it still was a big part of my early life.

I knew this show more then 4 years
This show was so great, even my mom used to really like each episode. Favorite episode has got to be the one where George starts a car washing business for toy cars, certified banger.
Yes! I was always my favorite to it just looked really cool
I remember that episode! I loved it so much when I was younger
i don’t know what appeal that episode that has, because for some reason that was one of my favorites as well as a kid
that episode was really good, used to love that one as a kid
thank you! I genuinely couldn’t remember any of the episodes but this resparked my memory, I loved that episode also.
4:07 the second one was actually surprisingly good
Another show I watched on PBS Kids when I was a kid. Truly a classic and I’m glad this video got released on my birthday.
Happy birthday! Hope you enjoyed!
Same! and also one day off from mine lmao
The First 2 Movies wee good. then spring into spring ditched that 2D/3D animation for the one on the show. just saying
This, Thomas and Clifford were my most favourite kid shows. So glad somebody is finally talking about it.
Same except Clifford is swapped for Word Girl
Arthur, Word Girl, Cyberchase, Wild Kratts, and Curious George are my 5 gods of PBS kids. I would say the original cast of odd squad was goated too, but the following casts didn't give the same feeling.
Ok,swap Clifford with Bubble Guppies,Oso and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse…you got my toddler years in a nutshell.

This show is an UNDERRATED MASTERPIECE.

I loved the movie as a kid. Top tier
3:30 how did this guy voice curious George and Megatron 😂
I remember liked the show a lot and the books
But the second movie I didn’t like so much because they added a villain (yes they did)
But I’m not sure about the rest of the movies
Curious gourmets was one of my fariote series ahhhh good times
this video changed my life
I remember this show as a kid then it just stopped suddenly.
Ahh the ost of the second George show...
Beauty
I think the real reason curious george pbs kids era was cancelled was maybe because Universal and PBS's relationship was expiring. during their revival on family jr and peacock, WGBH bailed out after season 9 and step back in for a few and Imagine was sometimes uncredited for some reason sometimes.
I remember when me and my grandma used to watch a show
I love curious George it’s one of my comfort shows along with we bare bears
