They used to show this on BBC1 at the end of the children's programmes before the news,i was only talking about it to a friend yesterday, great to see it again!
My Old dad was always singing this crazy song to me back in the 60's and it later came on our Black & White TV when I was about 3 years old. Went looking for it and HERE IT IS! Im 64 now been whistling this all my life. I worked with aircraft many years in huge hangers that echoed and someone would shout out DAAAAY OH and wait fir a reply from anyone down the far end of the hanger - priceless memories thank you Stan Freberg!
When I heard the Harry Belafonte song played on the Radio this afternoon, for the first time in years, I kept thinking “there was an animated version of this on television when I was a kid” boy, sometimes I really dig you tube…..😎
what a comedic genius was Stan Freberg....I loved this from when I was a kid, it's excellent! He did some brilliant send-ups of current songs... and this is a terrific animation.. catches it perfectly!
God I remember this as a kid,it scared me when he jumps thru the window. Don't know why. I was maybe 4 or 5? "Too loud man" I recall,a rabbit and Bugs Bunny. It just stuck with me,no nightmare as I recall. So glad to see it again though 😊 ❤
They just used commercially-licensed bendable toys of Bugs Bunny and Speedy Gonzales here, probably due to Stan Freberg having done voice work for Warner Bros. Animation in the past.
Oh yeah. I remember this being on Babylon2, part of Def2 (I guess this recording is from the time I saw it in about 1988)...like a similar stop motion of version of Swinging on a Star.
Like I say, I have been trying to find out who made this and other animations set to Stan Freberg's records for decades. I can tell you that it dates from the 1960s.
No, Albert is a white rabbit. Elsewhere on UA-cam you can find him in the animation of St George and The Dragonet. Yes, I do remember these films featuring on Crackerjack in early 1972, the series which had Little and Large in it.
@@Cool2BCeltic Crackerjack was on a long time before L&L!! I used to watch it with Eamonn Andrews and later Leslie Crowther with Peter Glaze. Friday teatime 👍
@@cyclic2696 No, believe me, Little and Large were on the early 1972 series of Crackerjack. Look up BBC Genome for January- March 1972. There was a section in the show in which Stuart Sherwin would stuffily lecture the audience on a subject by showing pictures, and Syd & Eddie would stand on either side of him showing pictures making fun of the picture he was showing.
i cannot believe i have just found this, 63 years old now and its been in my head since i was a kid, anyone else had the same
Yup, me too!
@@jonathancook1193 me too!
Me too.'Too piercey, man' is still an expression I use when my ears are assailed by what passes for music these days.
@@damonwilliams5033 day oh my friend
Me too..great memories
This used to be on Junior Choice every week, happy to find it after all these years. “I come through the window”, cracks me up
Brilliant. I remember this from the 60's Thanks for posting.
Where did you see this
@@sonicfanboy3375 It was on UK TV in the 1960's

This would be one of my desert island videos - it brings back so many happy childhood memories and I love it as much today as back in the day 😂😂😂

Exactly. He started doing voices for Warner Bros. before he started making comedy records.
Utterly utterly brilliant. Similar age to Dave Berry below and similar memories. Thank you
My dad taught me this version when I was a kid he died in 2015 and i am now 60 and still love this version
🫂
Brilliant lol. I doubt I've heard it for 55 years lol, but never forgot it. Beetle juice film reminded me
Amazing
I’m 61 and this is awesome ❤
First time I’ve seen this video. So funny!
Wow, This is Amazing.😄

Do you know Stan Freberg actually voice characters in Looney Tunes? So this is very fitting.
This makes sense as Stan was part of the Merrie Melodies family.
too piercing man, too piercing
I remember this so clearly as a child…
Who made this? How old is this? I need the Making/History of this animated short.
Like I say, I have been trying to find out who made this and other animations set to Stan Freberg's records for decades. I can tell you that it dates from the 1960s.
Who animated this?
That's something I have been trying to find out for decades.
@@Cool2BCeltic They did a great job whoever it was.
This is Albert not Bugs Bunny. I first saw this with Michael Aspel on Crackerjack years ago

I would have enjoyed this even more if the three back-ups were Porky Pig, Foghorn Leghorn and Pepe Le Pew. Still very funny though.
Singer/actor Harry Belafonte sang this song or a version of it.
This was funny, but why is the audio quality so bad? 😭😅
Crazy
LOVE This! These old cartoons! I am more of a Tex Avery man though! lol No Offense to Bugs and Speedy. lol
Oh the modern wokies are having a field day with this one!
Scared the crap out of me aged 6
bugs sounds like a stoner ngl
He's a beatnik
@@joerecordsNYC Not much of a difference
That dude sounds nothing like Bugs Bunny, ha, nor Speedy. But still funny, though.
The voices are Stan Freberg and Peter Leeds, from one of Stan’s records. The animator used rubber dolls of Bugs and Speedy because that’s what he had.
So where's Beetlejuice?
