- This is a basic and low-effort UV mapping of car mods in Assetto Corsa. It is an easy way to have an AO Map for your mods and get you started on something nice.

1. can you do a updated tutorial on this please?
2. when i select the side i have to do most of it manually. then when i seperate it even tho i did all of the one side it comes up as a few small and long boxes.
u can add a generated uv map, so can can really see if there are some differences in size

nah bro i suck at that shit. only made 1 livery which is a replica of miki takagi livery. there are many assetto corsa modders out there with good wrap designs but not me lol. thanks tho
Hi, love the video. Just having a problem. I've projected from view for one side but when I select the other side and project from view the first side disappears, and basically it just goes back and forth and I can't get both side at the same time

when i export it where do i export it to as it wont overwrite the other fbx and as of that the ao wont change

think i'm missing something. i export and it gives me a blank DDS. even if i save as png it's just black. tried going in an exporting a custom one. same thing. 😮💨

why do half of the options not even come up for me?
does the car has to get 0 material on it before UV mapping ? because i'm doing a mod and i already did test ingame etc so it has already a NULL texture to it just for testing. I say this because when i project from view a side from the car, in the uv editor i can't see any of my unwrapped side IF i don't select it from the 3D viewer
It doesn't have anything to do with the material. When you project from view a selected area of the car, the selected polys/parts are the only UV maps that'll show up in the UV box. You can set it aside so that if you select all the polys of parts including the unwrapped ones, it wouldn't overlap each other making it hard to clean and move UV. Also, yes, the only UV that'll show up in the UV box are the polygons selected in the 3D Viewer.

Is making a track more complex than a car ? I'm just curious because I wanted to make an open world map based on a real world location.
I have little idea about track making but imo it takes more effort to make and more of an open world map will take more time. I've tried using blender gis before but I didn't have enough knowledge and now I make dumb cars. Thanks for the comment!
My UV map is correct but when I try generate AO in CM there is nothing, full black... Really dont know where is problem.
Make sure that the UV map is inside the UV box. Try checking the AO calculation preset. You can also get sum help there in ACMP discord server by sending screenshots n stuff. (Find the link sumwhere on my vids.)

why not use for this Substance Painter?
It is the very very basic mapping for an AO I think. This is where I started so might share it also using blender plus someone requests for it. I am still learning stuff so idk
Substance Painter is good tho. I've tried it a couple of times

AO in Blender, Marmoset, Substance is baked differently. See which result you like best.

yes
can you do vid on how to bake ao?
just go to showroom, select a body part, click the three dots on the txDiffuse, then bake AO in the resolution you prefer then use the AO in kseditor as diffuse.
@@toastedbagel9095 this whole tutorial helped me SO much it's unreal, but this one reply right here saved my ass, I modelled my own car into the game but could not get skins to work at all. Turns out my AO map was goosed and this comment solved it for me, thanks a million dude!
