From what I understood (from a military history student ):
- Mao felt that he was entitled to be THE ideological leader of the socialist world.
- Maoists did not believe in co-existence with the capitalist world.
- Maoists viewed farmers (not factory workers) as the most important social class. (class.........)
- Maoists did not approve of nuclear treaties with the West.
I would love to hear the further academics.
