Nice results. Why not consider doing a second layer of impression by trimming the acrylic in the palate after the yellow initial impression and then doing a second lighter body reline to capture detail over the roof of mouth. You will be glad that you used a PVS adhesive on the denture surface so the impression material does not come off the denture when taking the extra layers of impressions. That way you get better fit of entire denture and not just over the ridges and the flange. Also, have you tried a functional impression instead of a static PVS impression? Tissues move when you talk and eat. A functioning mouth is not a static tissue mouth. A functional impression is a little slower but the fit is even better for the patient. Just some ideas I've learned from some prosthodontists over the years that I have practiced.

You're an artist and an angel to those needing this. It's a miracle, really.
It is very important before taking impression to make sure all undercuts in flanges removed or you will break model when separating. And it is a good idea to remove a little of border flange and acrylic over ridge to make sure you get denture seated in original location and don’t open vertical or overextend flanges. Also if loose anterior ridge tissue difinitely remove acrylic so do not displace.
There should be some space between teeth when a cavity is removed by filling it.

That is a lot of work. I just started my trip through the wonderful world of dentures. Just got my uppers extracted. Getting used to my first set of uppers. Absolute misery.
well had my 9 lower teeth removed but the top and bottom don't fit right so I can only wear the tops while the bottom heals then in 3 weeks they will make a new set of teeth hope it better when that happens man ,my lowers hurts like MoJo there only making the lowers over the top fits alright

I (74) have the same problems, the upper full denture simply falls down. The under denture no longer fits because more and more of the dentures are falling out. Now I only have 4 with a gap in between. I fill this gap with hot glue, That way I can at least bite off soft things. I also filled the upper full denture with hot glue and pressed it on.. but I only had success for a few days and then everything came off.. I've been living in Asia for 35 years, German with Asian couldn't get a work permit (medical. job) and now have little to live on (600$ as an alien I have to pay up to 400% more for the hospital and doctor because I'm a foreigner...$)..we also adopted a small child (parents are drug addicts) and my better half gets it $20 a month in welfare
and no support in sight!!! The world is not fair Unfortunately Parkinson's disease is also untreated! and asthma

Love your crown and bridge work, watching this video just had an observation of the two main reasons why this denture would be ill fitting would be the pronounced palatal tori and the postdam/palatal seal should be further posteriorly. With palatal tori would be wise to have a spacer surrounding it. Everything else was 👍

Dentures are very expensive I’m thankful to god they look like my real teeth I had a gold put in the side and they are gorgeous ,Westfield dentist in Houston does excellent dental work, my first set lasted 31 yrs no problems
I use a pink gum material made for do it yourself denture for relining and it works great the best thing is that it sets in minutes and it has no bad taste!!!

Hi Luke, I love you're work, best I've ever seen! I need a total restoration and I'm having trouble finding someone who can do this kind of work or would you be willing to do this for me, I don't know how much of the whole thing that you do implants, molds, making the teeth etc. but I'm very interested in your work if you can get back to me I'd really appreciate it, I'm having a hard time with alot of my teeth missing and it's affecting my life and how I live and feel about myself, please help me.

Id give anything to have him do my dentures. I’m a new denture wearer and I haven’t even received my first set yet. I went a week and a half ago for my trial ends and they were just massively huge and the bottom teeth were too long I just have a bad feeling that when I finally get them they’re just going to be awful.

I hope dentist and lab tech here in my country watch your posts, that expertise is badly needed. I had two dentures made, the second so as to reset the first. When the time for resetting came, the upper denture is too lose after like 3 fittings,
The first time, 1st denture we had 6 wax fittings, the dentist was so patient, but I had to tell her in the end why my upper denture looks bad. My pics and all looks Im totally toothless. The 3rd time I pointed out what's wrong wd the upper and she was telling me she can't do more, later with all the pics and explanations she realized where the deficit was. She was an expert but I had to teach her. 😔 Ps. The 2nd denture? same as the first, me looking like a toothless granny 😅 I had to endure it till the reset.

Doctor @lukekahng did you use Cold curing Acrylic or Heat curing Acrylic? How many minutes and at what pressure in the pressure pot? So sorry to disturb you, but i didn't understand :(

Ok this is the quick version. In my practice I use the technic with 1. Step border topic impression. After that the more fluent palatial impression. Finally with Aluminium wax the A-line design. Than I do the test of the impression fits correct. If you did it correct than you will see the denture is very difficult to remove. This is what we want. And all without glue

I'm in the uk and believe me it's so hard to find a competent prosthetic provider.i have bought all materials to make my own,the only thing I dont have is the machine for acrylic.got my denture done brilliant in wax but cant get some1 to put it into acrylic.
Go to a Denturist, not a dentist.
Plaster (gypsum) impressions are the best for full “no teeth” denture, may be not as easy as silicone, but better quality of mold, without unnecessary compression at all.
Try dental colleges they take a lot of time to get it right at a great price 👍 trying to do it at home with a diy kit seems like a disaster waiting to happen 👎
That appears to be a new denture, looking at the impression the problem with retention maybe the tori. The denture look like it was not fully seated due to the tori. Doing the reline may not solve the problem retention. When you deliver the denture make sure to PIP around the tori and the postdam area. When doing a postdam it should be a functional one with Iowa wax. Dentist are more aware of the anatomy because you can see the vibration line. Just a though.

Thank you for this, Luke! What do you think is the best thing for my elderly father (70+) to do with his dentures? He has pretty significant bone loss and cannot get his lower dentures to stay in place for a single meal. It comes off at least 2x each meal, and it's just been the biggest problem that impairs his health. Having parkinsons, his daily life is already a nuisance...and the fact that his lower dentures do not allow him to eat (even though he wants to) is just heartbreaking. We tried all sorts of adhesives, relining it at a dentist. Nothing is helping so far. Your input would be greatly appreciated even if it's a glimmer of hope for him.

Hay que hacer ... un BUEN rebase inferior . Las prótesis INFERIORES son más complicadas de llevar .
Habrá tenido una gran pérdida ósea por culpa de la misma prótesis.
Hay que hacer mantenimiento , como en tu carro ( automóvil, o coche ) .
NO LE HAGAS UNA NUEVA!!! Con sus condiciones vitales , es mejor adaptar la que tiene .
Ya tiene TODOS los registros al haberla usado durante años .
Primero rebasar la que tiene y ... con esa prótesis, hacer una nueva si es necesario .
Deberás dejar a tu padre SIN prótesis, durante un par de días.
La necesitará el protesico , para tomar los MISMOS registros que tiene la " vieja " .
Es MUY posible , que le valga la antigua con un buen rebase.
No juegues con implantes , a no ser que tu padre , sea todavía " jóven" .
Los implantes son muy buen remedio . Pero hay que ESTUDIAR los casos .

Adesso capisco perché i tecnici italiani sono i migliori al mondo !! In quella ribasstura ci sono degli errori fondamentali, esempio, nella prima impronta c'erano delle compressione sul palato che andavano scaricate e ripresa l'impronta, poi...quei colori così candidi , sono irreali !!
Thanks for your video but this is the past reset process, nowadays thanks to a special resin, the relining is done directly, simply and fastly by the dentist on the chair.
The chairside resin, while convenient, is much less dense than the lab reline material. It discolors rapidly and absorbs odors . IMHO it is garbage
