I am finally back with new energy and a new video!
So happy to share it with you! This portrait was a very complex and inspiring work to do! The model is an amazing young lady...It is so difficult to paint the beauty and to keep the strokes fresh and free!
I´m thankful to all of you for the patience during these two long years!
As some of you may know, I had my personal battle with breast cancer and I needed some privacy...and time. But I did not stop painting! My pastels were with me all the way!

So relaxing and inspiring to watch! I like that you kept the little "mishap" with the broken pastel piece in and also that we could watch the eyes come to life. I love drawing eyes, and I enjoy watching other people do it, too. 😚

Hello Graciela, so happy you have made it back and pray you are given the strength to continue your recovery! I am also recovery from a stroke this year and feel blessed to have survived it now we need to put it behind it and move forward! I can never thank you enough. This is the first pastel tutorial I've seen anywhere that actually shows me how I too can easily paint a pastel portrait. Hugs!
The only thing I would do differently: I have read elsewhere that poisonous carcinogenic chemicals can enter my body from pastel paints or oils if I use my fingers in blending or inhale their powder that is in the air. So I'll just use blending stumps and or cloth or clean x, and wear thin gloves & a thin mask. However I love your technique! Other artist's tutorials confuse me with so many layers of different colors on top of each other. Thanks again! For the first time I think I can do this!

I'm in awe. I wish I could have you as a pastel teacher. It's my favorite medium but I don't know all the ways to use it. I can't ever find pastel instruction. Anyways, the girl in the photo is beautiful. But your portrait of her took it to a whole other level.
I was so excited when your notification popped up!! Did not know why your weren't posting your fabulous portraits anymore, but definitely noticed your absence and missed them bunches. Little over 3 years ago your work inspired me to begin using pastels and a confidence to create portraits as well. I'm also a cancer survivor. Hate that you had to go through this. So thankful you're back and feeling better. Hope to see more if you and you artwork.
