Its sort of crazy to think that a small town like Starke was paying over a million dollars to their police department, meanwhile they only had about 11-15 active officers

Happens far too often. Corrupt cops will always decide to escalate rather than fulfill their duty to deescalate, especially when it comes to the most marginalized people (i.e., low-income queer people of color).
What the officer did to James sent them straight to the emergency room for an MRI. Two days in jail and awarded only 8k.

It is certainly happening. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that police stations have corruption happening. The corruption is so pervasive it ends in violence for way too many people. When I was a kid in JXN, MS, everyone was scared of the police.
You can clearly tell James was pissed off and was mixing up "sue" and "shit," so it came out "shoot." It's almost like you shouldn't agitate someone further after they tell you they're pissed, and respect them when they tell you they need to calm down. Policing is hard, sure, but it's a fundamental way you should treat everyone. Don't stir the pot if you don't want it stirred, and don't disrespect someone if you want them to respect you. Clearly this was them intentionally trying to make an arrest, because they didn't like that James was being understandably difficult, so good riddance.

@@jamesfields7 Girl if you actually watched it then youd know that this arrest footage is not in any other video that greengay made about tyra. the begining gives the history of this police department with tyra and the body cam footage and the after of that in particular, the second half is just about what happened after they got raided and the misconduct with not only that case but most of the other cases they were supposed to process correctly. also the person you responded to didnt post these videos what are you on ?

Came here after you asked us to in your most recent video, and I'm glad you did! This one is important, and does make James more sympathetic in my eyes. I'm glad he's still with us because knowing the history of overpolicing black people in the U.S., this could've very easily taken a turn for the worse. I don't blame black people for not wanting to call the police when they're the victims of crime, because of situations like this where they end up being victimized even further.
