The good news is when the trends change into more immodest ones, the former modest trends go to the thrift stores, consignment shops and places like TJ Maxx or Ross for stocking up.
Yeah, exactly the same, sis. I wear long sleeve metal tees (I think long sleeve/pants is mandatory but modesty perception is different for everyone..) Not exactly traditional, I wear what I want, but always keep it modest. I think it tells the world that I love and respect myself, but of course, this is different for everyone, not hate to those what feel best showing more skin ✌️
I'm in high school and trying to be more modest by moving away from bikinis and swimwear with revealing bottoms, but it's very difficult to find modest swimsuits that are cute, flattering and not too frumpy. I would love it if you made a video about types of modest swimwear and where to find it!
Albion fit has high quality swimwear that is modest! It’s pricey though. I’ve found a few cute one pieces at old navy. You can find them in regular stores, you just have to keep an eye out. Square/ straight necklines are on trend right now, so that helps!
There is a muslim company that makes less covered styles - capris and 3/4 length sleeves style, not just the ultra modest long pants, long sleeves, and scarf attached style. I think the shorter style and fabrics (the ones I looked at - forgot what company, though) are super cute! But UA-cam comment sections have taught me that one person's cute is another person's frumpy. There are definitely more modest swimwear options in 2022 than even a decade ago, so if capris and 3/4 sleeves is too much covering for you, you are in luck!
People need to stop sexualizing women's bodies. We shouldn't have to change because some random middle aged man is offended by a stomach or a bit of cleavage. We don't choose the way our bodies form. 🤦♀️ it's ok to dress modestly but you literally have “do this, not this” on the cover which insinuates showing parts of our body (that men get to show all the time) is inherently wrong.
I’m very short, yes V necks are always too low on me, ha. I’m def a believer in the undershirt. I’ll have to check out the flesh toned ones, you’re right I didn’t think about cutting off the line of the shirt with another color.
Also with the lengths of dresses, check out the hems on case they are quite full. If they are full enough, you can unpick them and lengthen the dress /skirt

I feel like biker shorts under a shorter flowy dress is a good hack. It might not be the most classic but it is good for when you want to wear a short casual dress but dont want to show everyone your undergarments.
I have been buying cycling shorts, or those shorts that are made out of legging material but shorts, to wear under skirts & dresses, they aren't too bulky but provide a cover up.
This summer I’ve been wearing casual maxi dresses with the same colored high neck tank underneath + a cardigan or long sleeved button up, or with a t-shirt/high neck blouse overtop the dress that I tie in a knot at the waist. If a dress has a high slit, I wear bike shorts or leggings in a coordinating color. For swimwear, a one piece swimsuit under a maxi skirt + long sleeved cover up.
If the top of a dress or shirt is a crossed v-neck that is too low, I will use sew-on metal snaps to keep it closed! They’re less than $5 for a pack at Walmart or other craft stores.
Same here. I live in a tropical country, no central AC in homes and get hot and sweat so easily. If I wear long sleeved shirts or pants for about 9 months out of the year, I'm soaked in my clothes.
I've got a couple shirts I love and as much as I love them if my undershirt is dirty it stays on the hanger till either my mom or me give up and do laundry.
Thanks Abby! I'm a part time firefighter and employee of another job and I've just given up on my fashion sense. It's hard to dress feminine, you've given some great tips. Thanks.
My mother sews up all the slits on my reformation dresses. 😂😂😂 Yes definitely a hack for modesty. I would also suggest shirt under dress, looks kinda dorky but if the colors go together, it can look cute!
tip #1 was good. i'm a lot older than you but realize how i do feel better when i dress more modestly. i don't want to spend money on a new wardrobe however buying a few flesh tone shirts won't break the bank.
What is your opinion on modest sleeves? As an overweight woman, I feel more comfortable wearing a flowing sleeve, or a blouse that would cover my whole upper arm. What is your opinion on a conservative shirt?
Other hack is looking for the modest version of the current trend., Nowadays some brands do that a lot. Otherwise if you're not into trend fashion, you can look for timeless clothing, usually those are modest and also last more. Buy vintage clothing also helps, specially if you go for 50', 70' and 80' dresses, and you could modify them as your needs and taste. Also helps getting light weight cardigans (if you don't like to show arms and shoulders) and for casual looks using a denim jacket helps a lot, specially if you love maxidresses but is too difficult or expensive for you getting something with sleeves. Learn/ taking sewing lessons.
What about when you're a bustier - my mom would say 'Well-endowed' - and undershirts/tank tops don't necessarily work? (I'm always having to constantly yank them up over my cleavage - it's so annoying)
I have this issue as well. I recommend sizing down on shirts you plan on wearing under stuff so they aren’t lose and rest against the chest. Also try to seek out the undershirts that have adjustable straps to help ensure a fit where the cami/tank not only stays in place when pairing under something but also when you bend down.
I go to the tailor all the time as I usually have to go up a size or two because of the size of my chest with certain dresses! Those dresses will fit my chest but they are way too big in my waist and hips! My tailor is honestly a hero! Love from Italy!
I avoided crop tops for so long because I thought there was no way to wear them modestly. I decided to get a looser fitting one to try with my high waisted leggings and I LOVE it!! It is sooooo flattering because it draws the eye to my natural waist at the thinnest part of my body. I am constantly on the look out for loose cute crop tops now! I haven't been able to find another one yet, but I am keeping my eyes open!
I've found that crop tops with high-waisted shorts or even just tucking my shirt into high-waisted shorts both flatters my figure and makes me look taller. A win-win for hobbit-sized me!
You're videos on clothing especially are super helpful for me! I'm apostlic (skirts that are knee length at least, no more than 2-3 ish inches below the collar bone, covered shoulders) so these will definitely help!
I've always appreciated your modest fashion videos. Thank you for making them! Although I'd hope you'd someday stress the importance for BOTH WOMEN and MEN to dress modestly. Men revealing too much of their skin can be very distracting too.
