I had a '62 Reverb er rocket with the 6v6 power tubes 6sn7 6sl7 and 5y3 rectifier. Ampeg bought it from me to make the reissue somewhere around 2013. I regret selling it.
I have a '96 reissue of this amp. Sounds a tad different, but it's a gorgeous amp. I've burned through so many amps that never lived up to what I wanted for tone and the Ampeg is the only one to match what I hear in my head.
@@michaelcrabtree7193 very true. I find that the reissue has a warmth and a clarity unique unto itself. It's not mimicking a Vox or a Fender. One of these days, I'll get a vintage Reverbrocket to use. My reissue R12R is my favorite tube amp. I do use a Roland Jazz Chorus JC22 for practice and small gigs. If the R12R didn't weigh a thousand suns, it would go everywhere.
@@michaelcrabtree7193,the same amp,Matthew Followill ,guitarplayer of Kings of Leon, plays for already 20 years.I also owned this amp, sold it to someone, who used them with old Hammond organs.
I have a very early Ampeg Rocket that I think is probably 59 or 60. The reason Im pretty sure its an early one is, its not the checkerboard blue we normally see but that wierd blue grey tolex that you cannot find anywhere. Also, the chassis was bent on one side to make something fit better, and I cant find a serial number or year of manufacture. I got it when I was in grade school, my parents bought it used as my first amp, and that was in the mid 70's. It was old then! I used it in my first band, never sold it, got it rebuilt a few years ago, and its a great little amp. Many times when I was just a kid, one of my dads buddies would try to swindle me out of it, but im glad i never took the bait, somerhing in me told me, this guy is trying to get this amp from me for a reason, and he thinks im just a stupid kid. Well, that orange faced Darius solid state piece of crap is orobably in a landfill now buddy, my Ampeg sounds better than it ever did. I put a greenback in it long after I lost the original speaker, sounds great to me. I like my Friedman, but I still like the old trusty Rocket for other things.😊
This was my first amp. Played a ‘69 LP through it. Still got the LP. Ampeg is long gone. But this is very nice indeed. Nice riffing! I’m sure you sold it by now. Great amp!

I've also got a reissue Reverberocket. The 2x12 version. Very different from the original Reverberocket amps but good in their own way.

the reissue reverbrocket schematic is very similar to a blackface fender, pretty sad they didnt stay true to the original

Great little amplifier! These little gems are extremely rare in the UK,I would love to own one.
Great riffing sir and a great amp! I'm picking up a '64 Supereverb tomorrow and I can't wait!!

This was my first amp...played an '80s steinberger headless through it lol
Any chance you’d ever consider selling the les paul?
Nope. Can’t blame you for asking, though.
Right on. Beautiful riffing
Saw it in my recommended decided to watch just because I can.
Faces tone for sure.❤
how much did it end up selling for
Wild that a 90’s reissue of a 60’s amp would be the same as a 2020’s reissue of a 90’s amp 🤯
