It's Italian, by the way. That's why i love her songs: she makes more voices at the same time, she uses italian language, and her voice is really special
not all of them, and because of the way she sings sometimes it's hard to understand what she's saying but yeah, she's not that bad at it, actually I'd say pretty good
A Japanese artist sing Italian! I think she doesn't speak Italian so good, but I like how she spell our language =) She told about 'Il Mar Tirreno' *-*
Hmm, I don't know many Japanese bands that use Italian (as far as bands who make songs for anime OPs and EDs) but my guess is Italian is a beautiful language when put into song correctly as is many other languages like Greek and Latin. Music is basically poetry, and a large amount of romantic sounding "poetry" were used with those languages. French could also be considered romantic, but I haven't heard any French songs, only just regular speech (my grandmother's a French Canadian), (cont...)
It is pretty hard to notice, but not so much. Probably because I listen to Japanese 24/7 nowadays ever since I started watching subbed anime three years ago. That and after listening to many of Shikata's songs hundreds of times, I learned to kinda vary out the languages used depending on how she pronounces stuff and her inflection. I'm still not very good at it though :/
Japanese is vary different form the other two. while both Korean and Chinese have some similar sounds, ng is one of them. I do know a little Korean, but only what my teakwando Master taught us, which is not enough to say much.
and....crud, lost my train of thought. Anyways, imo said languages (excluding French for now) are beautiful and romantic languages and people like Akiko-sama utilizes them well.
She HAS a lot of talent, she is still living and breathing and is as awesome as ever and still has her talent.
Heavenly. This song sounds so pure. I almost can't believe this was sung by a Japanese artist. Her talent is just amazing.
I love this song so much, it's so comforting and nostalgic, like a warm hug
Awesome Shikata Akiko Nishikaze no Okurimono Video.

Italian, actually. She does sometimes sing her songs in it, but I agree that it's kind of hard to notice.
called: the gift from west wind.
Considering she is Japanese she can speak/sing Italian well! You have to remember how hard it is to pronounce European words for the Japanese!
Mia musica!
it's wonderful to understand what the song means!!!! ;D

Une japonaise capable de chanter en italien. *-*

Source on the first pic?
Maybe a weird question, but why are the japanese so into Italian? I mean this song has it, but also the band Envy uses Italian in their lyrics..

Not to most people. Lol.
