How to Change a Circular Saw Blade ua-cam.com/video/RXYTpe6NNkI/v-deo.html
I’ve got a black and decker and bought the t blade instead of the u shank but I loosened the screws too much and the catcher came out. Which way is the right way too put it back in.
I had a look at this video AFTER trying to change the blade - and I had LOST the "grub screw", Thank God I found it in my garage on the ground. ALL is now well.
I know right. So glad it worked out. Thanks so much for watching.
Thanks for the quick clear video! Just needed to change the blade on my old Bosch jigsaw and I searched through many before I found this one!

Man! I couldn’t figure out how to change the blade of this Bosch and I find out that my flat long screwdriver diamond head doesn’t fit, only the head. Thanks for the video, I couldn’t find any video or manual in Spanish, thank you much!

Bosch, what were you thinking?
I have to look this up every time I need to change a blade on my Bosch -- thanks for the helpful & succinct video, and now I know how much better others got the blade-change mechanism.
You are quite welcome ForgotMyUsername. I’m so glad it helped. My Bosch was inherited and it’s a lot more reliable than my old Black and Decker. Thanks for watching.
@@FieldGuidetoDIY my Bosch is also inherited. And I just found the screwdriver I bought last time I needed to change the blade 😂
Excelente!!!!! Muchas gracias!!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😁😁😁😁
Me alegro de que haya ayudado. Gracias por ver.
Good video. Mine has T-shank. You can change with a lever but doesn't look secure. It seems lose... Can I do with both lever and Allen ranch.... Thanks.
Doc, your blade may not be seated properly. It should lock in place fairly securely. Try re-inserting it and then see if you can rotate the blade. I found I had to insert it 90 degrees and then release the collar which rotated it into correct position. If you have an Allen wrench set screw on your model, it may be a two-fold approach to locking the blade in place. Please let me know how it goes.
Thanks! Straight to the point. Very helpful
You are quite welcome Patrick. So glad it helped. Thanks so much for watching!
Saved me
Aww, so glad it helped, Seemless. Thanks for letting me know and thanks so much for watching.
What model jigsaw do you own? Does it take a U-shank or a T-shank blade?
Mine has T-shank. You can change with a lever but doesn't look secure. It seems lose... Can I do with both lever and Allen ranch....
What can I do if the screw missing?
LadyEye, see if you have a comparable screw in a hardware jar. You may have to cut new threads. The ideal is to take the saw to the local hardware store and pick up a replacement screw. Ask them for a “set screw”. It will either have a Philips head or an Allen head. Let me know if this helps.
So no U shank demo?
Sorry Ethan. I didn’t have a U-shank blade on me. Coming soon though. I promise. You can see how a U-shank blade would slide in the groove and the set screw just tightens down on it. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks so much for watching!
Diablo says that their blades work in both t shank and u shanks jig saws...
True BigMike. You can tighten a T shank blade in a U shank saw but the collar often doesn’t let the tabs seat properly. In my experience the appropriate blade for that type of saw is best. Thanks so for watching and for commenting. I’m gonna check that out and test that in a future video.
How do i know what shank my jigsaw use? I bought one but the instruction are in a language that i don't understand, and suggestion????
Siamak, does it have grooves in the round collar like the one pictured? Or, does it have set screws that screw in from the side?
@@FieldGuidetoDIY Thanks for reply, so it has 2 screw in front and I got a Hex Key, L Shape with the device, the thing is there is a free blade on my box (u-type) but my friend both the exact device from same seller, his device go a (t-type) free blade with it that why we got confuse , I found this video over internet that the exact jigsaw i have, as you see in the video, the guy has 2 blade, the black one is T-type and the blue one is U-type, sorry for reply I'm so confuse :(
ua-cam.com/video/ViJlU0Pa1yk/v-deo.html
@@siamakp1207 it sounds like you have a U shank. A T shank will not fit correctly unless you trim the ears off the shank. I hope this helps.
@@FieldGuidetoDIY cool, thanks for the help :)
Thanks youtube dad
Aw, you are quite welcome. I am so glad to help!
So you say you put the wrong blade (T shank) in the older model. Are they interchangeable in the older models or are they not? Must not be if you said you put the wrong one in!!!
Good question Paul. Although the T-shank jigsaw blade fits in my Black and Decker which my model is desgned for the U-shank, it is still kinda “sloppy” in there. Although it fits I really have to tighten down on the set screw more than normal. Should I have mentioned that in the video? Probably so. Maybe the next one. Thanks so much for watching. I appreciate it. I hope you got something from it.
You didn't change any U-shape blades...
I know. I need to make that video too. Coming soon.
Yoooo! Oh hy yu dissin’ my dawg T-Shank like that? His bars are fire mah nizzle! XD
T Shank got serious grooves. Thanks for watching dawg.
