Why do some people just randomly slam on there brakes at high speeds? Don't they realise how much danger they are putting everybody in by doing that?

The cammer still shouldn't have been so close.
If it was an insurance scam then the dashcam footage goes a long way in making sure there is no payout for the "victim".
That's the sort of thing which gets your policy cancelled and a black mark put against your name, which means no reputable insurer will touch you with a 100ft pole. You will also have a criminal conviction. The only people who will insure you would be the IRA for about £1m a year.
@@WreckItRolfe If there was more space (aka. less cars) then that would be reasonable but braking for no reason to deliberately cause an accident is illegal to begin with so..., in such heavy traffic there is no space to have either way. (forwards or backwards)
Also, the Fiat is not going fast enough for the flow of traffic, so technically the "too close" is because of the ones in the front, not because of the one behind them.
@@DrEtzor No matter what, you should always ensure that you are following a vehicle at a safe distance such that you can stop without hitting it. The Fiat should also be in a shitload of trouble, but that doesn't change the fact that the cammer was too close. It doesn't matter how slow a vehicle is going, you can still be held accountable if you are not practicing appropriate road safety.

Sorry, but for that second one I blame the biker. He's going quite fast and is way to the right of his lane keeping close to the van. Always approach a junction with caution and make yourself visible - he did neither.

the driver did do it slowly. the driver did check for traffic, but the biker did not make himself visible and the biker was going quite fast.

The motorcyclist in the second video was in the wrong. He was hidden behind the van and thus invisible to the other driver. He could see a van pull out in the distance so there was a junction into the side road. The light was green and yet the smaller van in the right lane stopped. This could mean that there could be someone crossing, the driver was on the phone, or he was giving way to another vehicle wanting to turn into the side road, which was enough information to slow down and keep an eye out. I know its easy for me to analyse this in the comfort of my home having all the time in the world, but the motorcyclist should have taken greater care to the changing road conditions. I understand he was probably distracted by the cyclists in his lane and his overreaction was from the close call, but all this could have been avoided if he had taken greater care about his position in relation to other road users when approaching a junction.
I know this junction. It’s by Stepney Green station.
The reason the van is stopped is because the car advanced before it was clear and blocked the van. The van’s lane isn’t a turning lane.
Basically, the car driver was pushing his way across three lanes of traffic, blind.
At 3:27, the car in front is clearly signalling right, even if it is turning slightly to the left. Anyone with any sense would have held back until it became clear what the car in front was doing. The absolute idiot in this case is the guy on the bike.

As a cyclist I always watch for other vehicles flashing to let others out, I've almost been hit a few times because of this. I also hate it when cars flash to let me out, I'd rather them just go, it's dangerous for me to pull out when I haven't got right of way.
