well, yeah everyone sort of has an imagination at that age to visualize how we want it to look. The simple graphics back in the day was in a sense so abstract we imagined the look of the characters and world to be realistic in our head. Now it's manifested into this remake thankfully.

Sephiroth had a model you could have in your party. When Cloud tried to remember stuff from Nibelheim the game had few fights you had Sephiroth fighting by your side. So they kinda needed to make him look good. As good as your other characters (or Clouds battle model) at least.
Taking a moment to appreciate the uploader who probably went throught hundreds of models on Kimera and prayed the software wouldn't crash. (Or maybe that other model viewer tool was used, either way excellent work!) The custom made background is really neat

Great video! It's so good to see the two versions side by side. Playing through Remake the first time, it was such a treat to see all these enemies reimagined. They did such a fantastic and faithful job.
It looks less like he's holding the sword and more like he's using his right arm to steady his left. Then again we're not supposed to see the models that closely.

Of all the games I have played, (and I have played many) and all the remakes, FF7 turned out to be a TRUE remake, not much at all if any was lost, indeed improved 👌👍
Awesome video comparison old to new! One thing most FF7 fans thought when remake was announced was that they couldn't possibly put most enemies in the game and make them look believable. In the remake they did it with flying colors, the work that went into FF7 Remake is truly profound for both new and old fans alike! Especially the Swordipede and Hell House.
All of the remake models look absolutely fantastic. The attention to detail and they way they translated the low-poly models into high detail and kept them faithful to the originals is magnificent. Even so, my inner eight-year-old can't stop giggling over the fact that some of the updated animal enemies actually have heinie holes.
Not only about them being boss battles, but also how many unique things they've done to them. So many of them have different ways to pressure/stagger them or just have unique gimmicks. So much love and effort was put into reimagining FF7 and I respect it a lot.
Some of these are so imaginatively recreated, but a few were a little let down based on the original design, such as the character from 2:20, his Lance was replaced with a generic sword.
What makes me realize is how with the graphics capacities back then, they still managed to make most monsters so iconic and characters legendary... Still amazing.
I rly like FF7R. First Game ever Platin Trophy (normally I don't care), but I'd still love to have an FF7OG Remaster. All those new textures packed in one Game, same story from start to finish, same camera perspektive, round based battle etc. additionally to FF7 Remake. I think they are doing really good with the Remake, but as an 1997 Gamer I still have that desire of the OG in new disguise.
