I remember reading this in college not too long after it first came out and it just completely restructured the way I thought about the whole topic. I've always thought that this was one of Davis's books that could have easily been five times as long. Thankfully, other scholars have more fully fleshed out some of the ideas here, but this is definitely a great place to start that will make you think more skeptically about the cultural air that we swim in and how to not just assume "this is the way things will always be." Activism really takes on the mantle of constantly imagining the world anew. I'm glad there are people out there with imaginations like hers. Superb discussion as always.

Thanks so much for the continued support, it's so greatly appreciated. I agree, I was surprised by how short it was, but I suppose that makes it a great introductory book. I'm definitely interested in reading more about the subject, especially about alternatives to prison - I found that chapter left a bit to be desired. Hope you had a great weekend!
