So nice! As a fellow classics reader I always end up thinking that modern novels don’t have enough dimension. Or sometimes, I feel that they are written with movies in mind. It was great to see your review because now I will definitely *not* get this one. 😅 Have you ever read Neil Gaiman? He is one of the few contemporary authors I truly enjoy.
I completely agree with you about modern novels. I'm trying to see if I can find some modern classics, but it seems like I will have to weed through a lot of mediocre novels to find the gems! Yes I definitely wouldn't recommend this one, you're not missing out AT ALL. No I haven't read him, but I just looked him up - which of his novels would you recommend?
