Let's hope they don't use the psvr2 lenses. The thing is, they need an all in one solution, who is this for? Its probably too expensive for most. Make this compatible with the ps5, you can do it Sony.
It uses pancake lenses and micro-OLED displays, which partially explains the higher price. Important to stress though, this isn't made as a gaming headset, it's for 3D design and other creative works. It looks like there'd be a lot of light-bleed due to the lack of facial interface, and I think the FOV is significantly smaller than the PSVR 2 as well.
The trackers are just Sony's Mocopi trackers. They've been commercially available for a while with mixed results. I think the difference now is that they've got a setup where you can use more of them for more accurate tracking. Maybe the hardware is a version 2.0 or there have been other changes I'm not aware of. One of the things that stood out is that they're using the Xyn headset with hand-tracking, where before it was always shown off with those weird 3D design controllers (The ring and the odd index finger thing). I suspect one of the reasons PSVR 2 got hand-tracking lately was because they were already developing the tech for this headset. And that has me hopeful for the future of PSVR 2. I could see it just sort of being a test-bed for Sony's VR R&D department to try out new VR features. This new headset clearly shows they're not done with VR, and I wouldn't be surprised if more of their software/feature advancements wind up on the PSVR 2.
This should get you excited if you want more VR games on PSVR2+. The standards for development for PSVR2 have been all screwed up and half the reason is that features like eye tracked VFR and haptics weren’t available in the headset most devs used for 90% of the game testing and they simply didn’t exist outside a few limited edition PCVR sets. Most devs built most of the games and probably still do using Quests, which are very limiting for a PSVR2 development project. That XYN HMD looks like it’s gonna be really expensive though. That was a pretty expensive looking ad. LOL.
hey jammy lad....following your vid on the January sale yesterday i went to grab vertigo 2.....just to let you know as a wee heads up, it isn't on sale and is priced at 24.99......maybe it will go on sale in the more games added in aweek or two....anyway no harm done...just letting you know. Thanks for all your great content
it seems that some of the games went off sale today! I didn’t realise it was a split one in terms of duration, and that’s fully on me. I’ll do better in the future to ensure and include dates of expiry :) Sorry for any inconvenience on that
@@Jammyhero oh not at all lad not your fault....i should have got on it last night....while the proverbial iron was hot....sure i was a little disappointed but totally not on you and i can wait for it to go on sale again.
There are lots of good fps games.....depends what you are into though....if you are looking for pvp, horror, mil sim style or arcadey......as I say there are lots of good fps experiences but there is such a variety you would need to be more specific as to what you are looking for
Did you know they were working on this? No you didn’t. Do you know what they are working on exactly now? No, no you don’t Do companies such as Sony have teams of people dedicated to doing certain task? Why yes they do. So why would assume they aren’t working on something just because they showcase something else. Do you know how companies operate? Don’t sound like it
Had a heart attack when I read the title cuz I just ordered my psvr2😅
Me toooo hahahhah i just go it for Christmas..
haha you’re all good!
@@homepage92 oooh I'm getting for my birthday

it’s for developers and creatives first and foremost, so not really a gaming thing. the technologies may cross over in the future though

What Sony needs to focus on, is giving more financial support for the ones wanting to update the current games for VR2 that don't get enough attention

@rustycagerage it’ll definitely be on sale again, and i’ll be a bit quicker on the draw next time :)
''This is not a game device'' save me from a hart attack😂 i just got my psvr2
This has nothing to do with the video but do you recommend any first person shooters for psvr2(
Resident evil 4 / village and metro awakening
Pavlov, metro, alien rogue incursion are 3 great games
Synapse is a fast paced fps, and then Into the Radius is a simulation shooter w/ horror elements
There are lots of good fps games.....depends what you are into though....if you are looking for pvp, horror, mil sim style or arcadey......as I say there are lots of good fps experiences but there is such a variety you would need to be more specific as to what you are looking for
Vertigo 2, Resident evil 4 & 8 and Metro are games that I have really enjoyed.
It's just the Lynx R1 with more expensive displays
So, they couldn’t get X Y Z to work as a product name so just rotated the Z to make an N? 🤔
The problem is why they are focusing on this they aren't thinking about vr gaming.
Why not both?
Did you know they were working on this? No you didn’t.

Man I can’t afford another lol
not for gamers luckily, your wallet is safe!
