- 1986 BMW 325es street strip car. Backhalfed with a ford 9 inch and 4 link suspension, mickey thompson 325-50/15 drag radials, T56 magnum 6 speed manual with Mantic 9000 twin disc clutch. 2.8L non vanos M50, 12:1 compression on E85, S366 turbo, 20 psi boost, megasquirt 2 ecu. Designed and built 100% by myself in my garage.

badass car man, any reason why you chose to go with 2.8 M50 instead of swapping internals from an M54? im getting 3.0 l out of the m50 with no boring using M54 pistons, connecting rods and crank with a M52b28 windage tray.. curious if your setup has any advantages that im not seeing.
The stock m54 rods turn into pretzels at anything over 650 whp and the pistons would not live at this power level. The s52/m54 cranks have pretty bad harmonic problems above 7200 rpms with the stock balancer. M54 internals would be okay for like 550-600 whp with a good tune.
ahh that makes sense.. im keeping mine around 500 whp .. its an e34 wagon. still not sure what to do with my stock OBD1 95 M3.. if you have any suggestions im always open haha. thanks for the info and hope to see more videos in the future.
what rpm limit are you using with this setup? also what valve springs?
Limiter is set at 8000 but it overshoots to 8300. Stock non vanos valvetrain.
Work looks good, what did it run in the 8th mile?
Best was 9.4 @ 149 in the 1/4 and 6.1 @ 115 in the 1/8th

I don’t think I ever ran meth injection with the MS2. I added that after switching to MS3

It’s the same as an M20 but I don’t remember what the number is.

Why bother with non IRS seen so many e30 do stock irs do 9'S ,just swap a e28 rear suspension or something from another bmw e34 rear suspension seen it done most use that setup

What size rear wheel and backspacing
15x10 with 4” backspace. I also run a 15x12 with 5” backspace.

I built my own engine harness. I've been working with megasquirt for about 10 years so I have it pretty well figured out.

put an auto in there and you'll be in the 9s easy
how about I just turn up the boost and be in the 9's easy? An auto is in the plans but I want to max out the stick first.

It went 9.40 @ 149 mph with the 6 speed. Its getting a th400 and bigger turbo now with a goal of 8.50.
