Wiring today! Dilithium BMS wiring. I’lltell you now, don’t follow my 7 module diagram here. I had to make a few changes to the LTCs and you will see that in the next BMS Episode ___________(link here once available).
My batteries were wired correctly but labeled incorrectly: so LTC 1 is battery module #1, which is the closest to the cable that connects to the SHUNT (negatice end of the series). Then LTC 4 will connect to the last battery in the series wiring: in my case, module #7, and its cable goes right to the POSITIVE (kill switch and main contactor).
Also, do not do my mistake and leave the batteries pigtails plugged in. There is full pack voltage going through the red circuit boards once the LTCs are wired, and I ended up burning out a few of the circuit boards (more on that in a future video). We’re learning folks! Thanks for being here with me on this journey :)

FYI, the capacitor in the garage door is to create a pseudo 2nd phase for the motor. Without the capacitor, the single phase motor doesn't have enough starting torque to be useful.

Voltage (not current) adds up when connecting in serial, current (not voltage) adds up when connecting in parallel. Good luck!

Man that’s a lot of spaghetti, it’s never easy being a front runner for new technologies, hopefully one day this convention
idea will become way more simplified, and the driving range will increase enough for it too become equal to the removed ice unit🤗
Great update, I’m glad you are able to make heads and tails out of all that, it’s way over my head 👍👍👍👍

Yes I really want to see a full plug-and-play kit for EV conversions in the next ten years. It’s ok to have to extend wires and make fancy mounts, but I’m having to learn and understand so many different user manuals just to get this step right, and teach 10+ manufacturers’ devices to communicate with each other. But EV West did the majority of the work trying and piecing those devices together to make a kit. Likely an exponential greater amount of time spent getting it to this point for installers like me. 🙌🤯 and their customer service has been great whenever I call or email with questions

All the electrical 'boxes' would be happier inside the car, Volvo protected :-)

I hope that you can torque limit that bad boy. I'd hate to see that precious gearbox go bang.

Hey brotha, idk if you have the time but I could use a hand with this Volvo stuff. I’m very new to the Volvo community but I have a slight problem. The Volvo engine and transmission are in a 1935 Graham Paige. I don’t have any idea as to what year vehicle other than the fact that the vehicle they came out of was a 164. If you have the time I have a few questions like how to identify my engine and trans. Where to buy parts, gaskets. What type of oils and fluids. Any help is great help.

An electric 164? I know it’s the future, but I kind of liked the past.
