The Grove looks so romantic! I had no idea!
Really nice place! They go all out on Christmas decorations
Fun to watch your technical design skills.
I like the way you are avoiding drilling holes or cutting bodywork. It shows respect for the car.
It may be difficult or impossible to avoid but it is a worthy goal. Respect.
Amazing!
This is awesome!
Holy heck. Haven't seen you in a bit this is coooooollll.
Heavy going when you haven't a clue about A/C but I'm learning. Well done. Adverts every 5 minutes was a pain but Ho Hum.
I use ad blocker on my Google chrome browser so that should stop having to see those. It’s “getadblock” dot com with the ✋icon, and they have been a lifesaver for watching UA-cam on the computer. No such luck on the phones yet
Hey David, always nice to see a little love given to these ageless beauties. Keep up the good work. Btw, who won ;-)
I think that from now you will be known as Gungah Din, because you are a braver man than I.
This is just one part of the conversion and it is challenging.
I have a '91 240 GLE with dual fuel, LPG is installed over the original gasoline fuel, which is a pain.
I would love to do a similar conversion, but .... I'm still a bit chicken. I'm waiting to see how your conversion goes before I decide. Sorry, you're my guinea pig. I hope you survive. LOL
PS Does the TE badge on the grill stand for "technical expert"?
Hello David, can you show where are the rear and side liftings points on the 164 please?
Note: the trinary switch blue wire circuit would do better to go through a variable ground source, otherwise, it seems that any time there is pressure in the system and ignition turned on, the fans will power up. It could be useful to not have the fan power on if there is a loss in pressure, to give the driver an audible indicator of a problem (no fan noise). I’m not clear on the diagram, if the blue wires are completely independent of the signal wires for the compressor clutch (black/green). I’ll report back once the relays are installed and system tested.
Too late now, yet verify the motor brushed are not worn down so much that life expectancy is short. Also, the check the rotor slip ring the buches contact and ride on are not deeply scored. You can use an GL-4 synthetic like AMSOIL Super Shift 10W Racing Transmission Fluid as it like yellow metals and endures. WHat I use when rebuilding motors and in M47 II. Ensure the bear housing is full of the cloth or fabric packing so the sintered bearings are always soak in lube. GL-4 is a small molecule. Do not use a heavy large molecule like 15W50 including synthetic. VDO made and may still make this HVAC motor, Verify the rotor and stator winding insulation is good and no shorts. You an also replace the motor brushes and springs.
You're wearing two pairs of pants, Dave? Is it that cold in CA?
Ah...it was January when this was recorded. Never mind.
Some of my work pants are thin so I layer up with sweatpants or long johns when I don’t want to run the heater all night
srsly tho, is it worth the effort?
Why wouldn't it be worth the effort?
@@peterwalker6446 reliability?
@@djkasdjkasdjdjdj An electric motor is as reliable as it gets
David is very passionate about cars, especially vintage Volvos. He also loves teaching and helping others.
