    Love these tutorials, short and to the point. Please keep making them, I feel like I have so much to learn and experiment! Looking forward to all the tutorial to get me started with Embergen!

    Nick, I'd be happy if you consider particle effects like shockwaves, magical effects and trails......as a tutorial

      We'll be doing many tutorials and I'm sure i'll cover these at some point. Thanks for the suggestions!

    Great Tutorial!. Are you planning on making a Gun fire/ Muzzle flash tutorial too? It would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

    Thank you for the lesson! IT WAS VERY INFORMATIVE). But I have a question. I looped the effect, but the resulting Flipbook has a sharp jump from the last frame to the first. I spent a long time looking into it and found out that the Mod:Cycle node was to blame. If you turn it off, the animation loops well and there are no jumps. Everything is smooth. But this spoils the appearance of the Tornado. Any ideas on how to fix this?

      @jangafx  Рік тому

      You'd have to make sure your cycle loops perfectly too within that frame range. i.e, it needs to be timed in such a way where if you're at a value of 50 or something on frame 128, you'll need to be at a value of 49 on frame 255 in an example that has "128 frames of looping"

      @@jangafx Would it be possible to get an elaboration on this? I'm doing 144 frames and trying to adjust the Frequency of the Cycle node to ensure that the rotation parameter loops across the frames as stated, but the flipbook still jumps. Is that the right way to go about it?

    hey, I'm late to the party but has the option to block the bouding box as collision disappeared? I can only block Z ground it seems like!

      @jangafx  Рік тому

      We will be bringing back blocking all sides in our next update! Should be out in a week or two

    Trialled this out on Embergen 1.0.8. The resulting tornado looks quite a bit different, and the rendered flipbook is unable to loop properly. I had none of the nodes that would break the Loop Simulation function. I found that turning the Velocity Transfer setting under Forces in Emitter to 0 fixed the issue, but of course it changes the tornado appearance... Might be a bug?

    • @gamepersona
      @gamepersona Рік тому

      Well, going off that other comment that liomizar made, turning off Mod:Cycle node works also if you have the Velocity Transfer not at 0. They don't seem to work with each other.

    This is really cool. Would there be a way to loop the simulation?

    • @hyruleorchestra4339
      @hyruleorchestra4339 2 роки тому +1

      you can bake an alembic, bring that into your 3D program, dublicate it and fade one out while the other one fades in....this is my go to method for looping any simulation. 🙂
